Chapter 65 Drugged me
Adrian’s POV (The night he met Sophie)
“Bar is closed.” Caleb said, I didn’t even turn to spare her a second glance, he never really liked her, from the moment I met her, he always told me she is bad news but I didn’t think to believe him, I didn’t think wanted to at that point and I wish I did.
“Didn’t you hear me? I said the bar is closed and I am sure you will not like if I put my hand on you and I throw you out of this place.”
“I heard you the first time Caleb, you know it’s refreshing that all you do is hate me, even till now, don’t you think you are getting too old for all of this.” She said, I didn’t look at her, I knew she was close to me. “I came to speak to Adrian if you don’t mind.”
“I don’t want to have any conversation with you and unlike Caleb, I will not be placing my hand on you, it would rather be preferred if one of my guard do that on my behalf.” I stated when she tipped her me and her hand wrapped around me.
I instantly pushed her away, she is cunning, even when we dated, she always found a way to try and manipulate me but a mafia king can’t be manipulated, she thought she could come in and make me fight with those I care about, I wish it was that easy
“Are you done here?.”
“I came here to warn you, that girl you married, she is nothing but good; she is nothing but innocent.” Sophie said and I smiled. “I let her in the bathroom, what did you see in her Adrian, how could you go from me to her, she was mean, she was horrible and the thing she said, you would never approve of it.”
“Scared she is better than you and he will never think about you or come close to you, come on Sophie, we know you better than this, you are jealous aren’t you, you think his wife is awesome and don’t get me started on how beautiful she is, but you think that you can still stand a chance.” Caleb mocked and she rolled her eyes at him.
“He married her for her throne and for her money. And I know that, I know him better than you do and I always have.”
“If she finds out you are here with me, you know what she will do? She will have you dead, and I will let her do it, I will lay off your father just enough to not make a fuss about it and we both know daddy dearest will rather pick money over you, do you still use that to manipulate guys into thinking you are some troubled woman, who has suffered a great time in the hands of her father.” I asked
Yes she didn’t have a good relationship with him, but he never yelled at her. He never even cared enough to abuse her, it was like he was just a money bank and nor her father, they never had any relationship and at some point when I met her, I realized she would always use that.
“Come on Sophie, you are glad you caught me in this mood if not I would have killed you, you don’t talk about my wife, you don’t even think of looking at her and even without her I was never going to get married to you, I could never do that to myself.” I yelled, as she’s stared at her
“Here comes the tears.” Caleb said and I smiled
That’s her second weapons, she always thought I could never see through it but I did, I wish she did understand that, I never fell in love with her, yes I liked her for a whole, at some point I was bored but I stayed because I knew I would leave and never have to see her again.
My mind filled with thoughts as I continued to gulp down my whiskey and I felt something.
“Did you drug me?.” I whispered so low trying to contain the anger that filled my mind.
When she fell on me, she must have slipped something, and then all the drama that happened after that, it was her way of distracting both of us from noticing anything happening.
She did drug me.
I wasted no time in yanking her hand away from the table, my hand wrapped around her arm tightly when I roughly pushed her toward the door and out of the building.
She didn’t have any right to do any of this, she didn’t have any right to even think of it, I am going to punish her but not now, I can’t be see with her.

“Are you going to go home like this?.” Caleb asked.
“I don’t know what she slipped into the whiskey and I am not going to put that risk on Elara, I can’t let myself hurt her mentally again.” I breathed out.
I could my eyes slipping back, my breath hitches as I stared at him, I needed to get to a hotel, I didn’t want to sleep here either.he needs to open early and I will not hold back his business, I can't do that
So that’s what I did, I got cheeked into a hotel room and forced in to check in by the room beside me and I made sure that he told my gaurds not to let anyone come close to my room.
I should have texted Elara but I didn’t, I imagined that it would be better when I go home, I intended to tell her everything that happened, every part of the truth and save what’s left of our relationship .
It’s no longer about her papa anymore, this was about both of us and I wanted her in my life, all of the time.
