Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Desmond and I arrived shortly at the dungeon where Cecile was kept. Her hands were kept in chains and I'm sure it was done to prevent her from using her powers.

As she conversed with an enraged Carlos, she appeared fairly brave and had a smug smile on her face.

She had thick brown curly hair, brown eyes, dark skin and a mole on her v-shaped jaw. Her countenance was somewhat mischievous and I wondered why she would turn herself up so easily to be caught by the guards.

She wasn't even caught, I heard she showed up on her own free will..

Isn't that insane?

"Tell me why you lied to Damon about the seal being in our pack!" With his cheeks flushed and his veins protruding, Carlos yelled as he grabbed her by the neck.

Cecile let out a small laugh. She doesn't appear to be afraid of what could occur. She was so gutsy that I shook my head in amazement.

"If you don't answer me then I'll be forced to make you comply the hard way,"Carlos bellowed, the sound of his voice echoing through the dungeon.

Cecile giggled softly and hesitated for a moment, her mouth quivering slightly as she focused her attention on Carlos.

"I guess you're going to torture me, right?" She asked boldly as she choked on Carlos's grasp in her neck.

"Thank goodness you know I won't kill you right away, I'll torture you and make you die slowly before finally giving you out to be fed by the wolves,"

"I can't wait to have such experience," Cecile bantered before giggling.

Her giggles weren't funny to me. They're like irritation to my ears and it only made her look like a psycho.

"Why are you doing this to me and to my pack? What have we done to you that causes you to seek retribution against us?"

"I'm glad you asked sensibly this time around, Carlos. This is the right question I've been waiting for."

"Don't you dare call me by my name!!" Carlos thundered, yelling at the top of his lungs.

Cecile smirked as she gave him a sarcastic look.

"Tell me plainly. Why are you taking revenge on my pack?"

"Let me take you down to memory lane, Carlos. Sorry, I meant, Alpha Carlos," Cecilia said and smirked at Carlos simultaneously.

Carlos released his grasp on her neck and gave her a keen attention.

"Back in 1995, do you remember that little teenage girl who worked in the royal kitchen and was later casted to live on the streets?"
Cecile asked while Carlos furrowed his brows, trying to process her statement.

His hands clenched and he growled, getting impatient with her.

"I told you to tell me your reasons for taking revenge on my pack and you're telling me a story? Is that what I need to hear?"

"Oh! It's best if you hear it because the story has a lot to do with my reason for taking revenge against not only you but also your Father," Cecile admitted, giving Carlos an intense gaze, a lopsided smile forming on her face.

"I worked at the royal kitchen then just so I could have access to the leftovers so my family would be able to feed. Your so-called pack members discovered I was a witch and they used that against me by telling me never to step foot in the palace. They believed witches were never clean. They believed we were evil and so, they pushed me away,

"I came from the lineage of the moonlight witches. Our home got destroyed which is why we came to live at Goldmoon pack. We never used our powers for evil. We used our powers for good but no, we weren't accepted. We were seen as outcasts with impure intentions."

Cecile revealed, smiling mischievously as she gazed at Carlos.

"Not only was I chased from the royal kitchen but you ignored my love for you, Carlos. You knew I loved you but you never cared. After all, what would a witch want to do with the Alpha's son?"

"Go straight to the point Cecile. All of these stories aren't what I requested from you," Carlos emphasized with gritted teeth, his blue orbs piercing directly at her soul.

Cecile smiled and continued, "Do you remember when you were much younger and you went hunting at Riverdale forest? You got injured badly but I showed up and healed you. You discovered I was a witch. You could have revealed my identity but you kept that as a secret. We became close friends then but you never acknowledged my love for you even when you found out about it."

"ENOUGH!!!!" With his anger boiling with impatience, Carlos growled as he seized her by the neck.

"I will kill you right now If you waste more of my time!"

"Not only did you disregard my affection for you, but you also stood by while your pack members mistreated my family members because we were witches. I suppose there was a greater degree of animosity for witches back then than there is today. Your father must have halted the execution of witches since he must now be reaping some benefits of their practice."

With her eyes riveted on Carlos, Cecile revealed more. "If your pack had only neglected us, I wouldn't have taken offense but what your dad did to my mom was something I'd never forgive. Since your dad found out we were witches, he approached my mom so she could heal your grandmother from an illness with her magic.

"My mom healed your grandmother but that same day, your grandmother died and my mom was accused of poisoning her. I know my mom quite well, she wouldn't do such a thing. Someone else must have poisoned your grandmother and framed my mom for it. Unfortunately for my mom because she was a witch who was never loved before, she was killed without proper investigation. I had to leave your pack because your dad ordered for my execution too. I lived in bushes, suffered and made a small community with other witches there. That's why I have come to exact revenge on your pack members, your dad as well as you, Carlos,"

Cecile disclosed and ended up giggling evilly. Her demeanor was quite menacing and I didn't know when I started shuddering where I stood.

"Let's go, I believe you've heard enough for now. Carlos mustn't find out that I brought you here." Desmond muttered to me and I took a last glance at Cecile before turning to follow him.

When Cecile called my name, I stopped on my track, my heart beating loudly as I turned my head slowly to face her.

Carlos and Xavier's eyes widened when they realized I had been there all along.

Carlos had told me not to come here and I had disobeyed his order.

Desmond gulped down his saliva as he held me gently by the shoulder, he didn't want to bring me here in the first place and now we've just been seen by the evil witch.

"You don't have to panic Desmond," Cecile muttered as she cocked her brows, giving Desmond an intense gaze.

"I'm sure you were keeping her from seeing me. Isn't it so sweet that you have three mates who're so overprotective of you?" With her wicked brown eyes sending shivers down my spine, Cecile inquired as she slowly rotated her neck to face me.

"No matter how hard they try to protect you. Trust me, you're still not safe,"

"What nonsense are you saying?" Carlos inquired as he grasped her by the neck once again, his fists clenched in a ball.

"It's true. You're just scared which is why you asked. I won't only take my revenge on you and Goldmoon pack. I'll also take my revenge on her for being the one to have you as a mate."

"You won't cross your boundary Cecile!" Carlos snapped as he tightened his grip around her neck.

"Ttch.. I already vowed to harm anyone who turns out to be your mate, dear Alpha Carlos,"

"Save her with your last strength. She might end up dying very soon." Cecile revealed and my eyes widened as I shuddered like a leaf where I stood.

"Why on earth did you bring Camelia to the dungeon? I told you to fg stay here with her!" Carlos bellowed as he dragged Desmond by the collar.

"She chose to see her, Carlos. It's not a crime for her to see Cecile,"

"Don't tell me that trash! Didn't you hear what Cecile said about her? If she hadn't seen her, she wouldn't have said those horrible things about her. She wouldn't have thought of taking revenge on her!"

"That's enough Carlos, that's enough!"
Xavier snarled as he moved between them.

In a fit of rage, Carlos yanked Xavier's hand away and walked over to Desmond.

I walked up to Carlos and said to him. "I insisted on seeing Cecile so I asked Desmond to take me there. You shouldn't react by getting furious at the slightest things, Carlos. I know Cecile has an evil plan towards your pack and me but trust me, she won't succeed."

"Believe in our bond Carlos. Believe in the peace we'll bring to the world from our bond. " I said as I held Carlos by the cheek, my eyes locked on his.

Desmond drew closer to me, his eyes slightly grew wide as he stared at my wrist.

He held my hands while I turned to face him, trying to comprehend his facial expression.

"Where's your bracelet camelia?"

"Wh– what!" I exclaimed as I glanced at my wrist.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped when I realized it
wasn't in my wrist.

"How is this possible? I never for once removed it."
I said with conviction as I stared at Desmond.
