Chapter 31

Chapter 31
Camelia's POV

"What is that?" I asked Kate as I approached her. When she remained speechless, I grabbed the paper from her hand in an attempt to read its content.

"It's Damien," Kate muttered, her fist clenching and her teeth gritting.

"He took Hazel,"

"What!" I exclaimed, not wanting to believe as I read between the lines on the piece of paper in my hand. My hands started to shake and my heart got heavy at each scribbled word I read.

"No! No! This can't be, THIS CAN'T BE!!" I screamed loudly and a heavy wind whirled abruptly in response. My eyes shifted to gray; my powers started to surge as my anger increased.

Books, papers, and various light items spinned and hurled in the wind and the whole class turned into a mess. My classmates screamed in fear and some ducked under chairs and tables, stealing glances at me with widened eyes.

My bullies held onto firm objects, their jaws dropping as they witnessed the display of my strange powers.

Never could believe that I had powers.

As my eyes shifted back to normal, the wind stopped whirling immediately and every item it conveyed dropped abruptly to the floor.

Kate's eyes widened as she stared at me. She was in pure shock as well as the others.

I panted and gasped, feeling the urge to fight.

Some students took slow paces farther from my direction while some remained in their hiding spot. No one dared to utter a word.

"Do you really have powers?" Kate asked me, her hands trembling as she assessed me from head to toe like I was a strange creature.

"I do. I wanted to tell you earlier but I didn't have the chance.

"I'm still new to it and I just can't control it," I responded to her as I grabbed her two shoulders. she stood stiff at a spot, unable to move as she kept staring at me speechlessly.

"What's more important is finding Hazel. That fool has her and we have no idea what he might do to her."

Just then, the bell jiggled and everyone hurried to pack their bags and items, scurrying out immediately as they gave me fearful glances.

"I still wonder how he was able to leave the school with Hazel. Weren't the security personnels keeping an eye on him?" Kate asked curiously and before I could reply, the headmistress showed up, looking all terrified and horrified.

Everyone looked up as they wondered what it is she has to say.

"No one leaves the classroom," She warned frankly as she eyed each and everyone of us.

"Why?" Matilda asked scornfully.

"Is it because you have some boring lectures to give us or you probably want to punish us because we failed our tests?" Irene, a red haired girl who was a best friend to Matilda, questioned frankly as she maintained a gaze with the headmistress.

"We believe we have a threat in our pack as the two security personnels of our school have been killed recently," The headmistress emphasized with a stern gaze.

"We'll let you know when it's time to go. We need you all to be safe which is why we're taking this measures,"
She said before leaving while my eyes and that of Kate's widened In shock..

"We can't stay and do nothing. Our friend is in danger and we have to find a way to leave." I muttered to Kate who nodded in response.

"What of your mates? Are they not coming?"

"They're —" I paused and started to sniff slowly. I could feel their scents filling up my nostrils and I could sense that they were here.

"My mates. They're here," I turned to give Kate a comforting gaze while she nodded slowly in response.

I ran outside with Kate as soon as my mates showed up. I held Desmond's hands, tears pricked my eyes as I exchanged gaze with him.

"What is it, Camelia? We came to see you and Damien, the so called vampire,"

"I need to have a word with him privately." Desmond emphasized as he strolled past me.

"He's gone!" I said, my lips quivering as tears streamed down my cheek.

Desmond paused his steps after hearing my statement. He turned around to face me.

"Really?"

"Yes. And not just that. He took my friend, Hazel, with him. I'm scared. I don't know what he'll do to her," I cried and Xavier pulled me and gave me a warm hug, comforting me by telling me all will be well.

"This is a note he left," I handed the paper to Desmond who skimmed through its content.

His fist clenched and his face reddened immediately, he was extremely furious as he knew his brother was behind everything.

Carlos and some cops went over to check on the injured and unconscious victims.

As one of them assessed the neck of the victim, he divulged, "This is clearly done by a vampire,"

"We need to search the entire pack, a vampire is on the loose and this is definitely not a good sign."

Desmond vented his anger on the paper I gave him. He crumpled it and turned to face me.

"I'll be going to meet them and not you. Your safety comes first, we can't risk letting you go alone."

"But– but he clearly wrote that he wants to see me alone. I don't want something bad happening to Hazel so it's best if we comply with his instructions."

"I agree with what our mate has said. We can have plan B while she shows up alone."
Xavier added.

"Are you crazy? How can she show up alone? It's quite dangerous." Desmond cussed as he approached Xavier.

"We accompany her to the vampire's quarters but then, we can hide while she pretends to have come alone."

Desmond shook his head in disagreement and muttered, "My brother is quite clever. He wouldn't fall for that. I know what to do so you guys should follow me. Damon is my brother and I know how I can handle him."

Xavier nodded in understanding while Carlos joined us before asking. "What exactly does your brother want with our mate? Is there something he needs from her badly? I also heard our mate has been attacked by him before."

"Damon can be quite a lunatic. He knows of our bond and he's threatening her to get to me. He wants to do all he can to prevent the prophecy from coming into fulfillment,"

"Let's start heading. We have to save our mate's friend or she'll never forgive us." Xavier suggested and we all took off, determined to bring back one of us..
.

"Hazel!" I cried as I reached the vampire's quarters, pretending to be alone.

Damien walked out from a corner with a smirk . Crossing his hands in his pocket, he asked, "Well. Good that you showed up, but too bad you didn't comply with my statement."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't try to pretend, you brought your mates with you, didn't you?" Damien asked and just then, Damon showed up without wasting much time.

As he gave me that piercing sharp gaze with his gray eyes, I couldn't help but shudder— those gaze could kill.

"Where's my brother?"

"He's not with me, I'm all alone,"

Damon twitched his lips. He crossed his arm and said, "Then let's see …"

He snapped his fingers and three voracious hungry vampires approached his direction, their
eyes fixed at me.

Their eyes glowed red and their teeth jolted out into huge fangs, as they got ready to feed on me.
