Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Camelia's POV
"Guys! Can you believe I stalked Damien yesterday after school hours?" Hazel announced as we dawdled on our way to the library that afternoon.
"WHAT!" Kate and I exclaimed, our eyes popping with our jaws dropping.
"You mean, you really spied on him?" I asked again so she could clarify her statement.
"Yes. I did stalk him and I noticed he doesn't live close by. I don't think he even lives in this pack here with us." Hazel divulged further, her brows furrowing as she gave us an assuring stare.
"Why on earth will you do something so risky? What if he is aware that you're stalking him?" I questioned with worry and fear spreading across my face.
"No. He's not aware. I didn't take too long before turning back," Hazel replied to me with a faint grin.
"Be careful! And this should be your last time stalking him. What if he had caught and killed you yesterday? How are we gonna know?" I responded to Hazel who only chuckled lightly.
"Relax!"
"I'm not relaxing, Hazel. He's quite dangerous. Desmond told me yesterday that there's a hundred percent chance that he's a vampire," I explained to Hazel whose eyes grew wide instantly.
"It's best you keep your distance from him,"
I kept a stern expression on my face as I warned.
While we hurried down to the library together, we continued with our chat, unaware that we were being watched by Damien.
"So, what did Desmon say he would do to him?" Kate asked as she picked a book which was filled with spells and enchantment.
I twitched my lips as I turned to face her, "Well, Desmond wants to keep things in control by having him in his care, he probably wants to ask him some questions,"
"Desmond has a brother. His name is Damon and just like Desmond, he's a vampire but a tough and vicious one." I explained further as I locked eyes with Kate.
"Do you remember that night when I ran out of the hall on Carlos's birthday?"
"Yes, I do remember," Kate admitted, nodding her head along.
"That night, I met Damon, he tried to attack me but Desmond saved me. I think Damon is after me because he knows I am special and mated to his brother."
Kate sighed and shook her head. She looked straight at me in the eyes and admitted, "If there's anything weird here, it's your fate, Camelia. I still don't understand why the moon goddess will have you mated to a vampire. It's quite confusing,"
"I know right. We have no choice but to accept it that way," I muttered to Kate and just then Hazel snapped her fingers, grabbing our entire attention.
"What is it?" I asked curiously as I went to take a seat beside her.
She placed one of her fingers on the pages of the book she was reading, skimming through the content as she read loudly.
"One way to know or trap a vampire is by getting rid of their daylight ring. Since the ring helps them to stay under the sun Without getting scorched and burned up, we can get rid of it so they won't have to threaten us. See, it's their weakness," Hazel mumbled, a smile parting her lips.
"Easier said than done, have you forgotten that they can be active at night without the ring?" Kate teased but I didn't find any of Hazel's words funny.
"No, Hazel. Don't tell me you're planning on doing that to him." I asked as I gave her a curious gaze, my eyes widening with my brows furrowing in worry.
"Tttch! Because I said that doesn't mean I'm doing it," Hazel muttered to me convincingly but I still wasn't satisfied with her statement.
After a while she stood up and excused herself in an attempt to use the bathroom.
"Don't be late," I blurted and laughed as she scampered like a little kid who was unable to hold his pee.
Third POV
As Hazel scurried to the bathroom, she emptied her bowels and exited immediately.
When she got out, she grimaced and furrowed her brows as she had a feeling that she was being followed.
"Who's there?" She asked as she turned backwards, her eyes scanning the whole place.
She retraced her steps, trying to see if she could see anyone. When she was struck with emptiness, she decided to free her mind and move further.
"I guess you're looking for me," The thick deep voice erupted at the right end and she turned immediately to see who it was.
When her eyes fell on Damien, it widened immediately.
"Have you been following me?" Hazel asked, her brows furrowing.
"I should be the one asking you that," Damien responded with a smirk look, his gaze piercing into hers.
"What do you mean?" Hazel asked as she retraced her steps from him. His smile was far from friendly and was somewhat mischievous.
"I suppose you were the one stalking me yesterday evening. Do you remember?" Damien asked and Hazel's eyes widened immediately with her lips quivering, unable to form a word.
How on earth does he know?
"I knew you were the one stalking me. Good to see you again, Hazel,"
"I know who you are. Don't try to pretend to us." Hazel blurted with her lips twitching as she gave him a scornful stare.
"Who am I?" Damien asked softly as he approached her, curious to hear her thoughts about him.
"You're a vampire. Aren't you?" Hazel confessed, crossing her arms as she sneered at him.
"A smart one. You're quite brave too, aren't you? I see you're not afraid of me," Damien disclosed as he took steady paces towards her.
"Don't you dare come near me!" Hazel scolded as she retraced her steps from him, her heart beating non stop as she clutched onto things.
"Oh! I'm wrong. I see you're a little scared, aren't you?" Damien teased, a lopsided smile parting his thin lips.
"Ttch.. I can also imagine how scared you'll be when everyone finds out you're a vampire. Vampires aren't wanted in our pack and you know what will happen once they see you? A DEATH SENTENCE!"
Hazel bluffed as she glared at him.
"And what if I kill you before anyone else finds out?" Damien asked, a little smirk playing across his lips.
"Too late. My friends and a few others now knows about you. So get ready to die soon,"
"I am a vampire, I cannot be killed," Demian challenged, his brows arching as he teased her.
"Even if you can't be killed, at least a bite from a werewolf should put you in a sorry state," Hazel bluffed before sinking her jolted teeth into his arm. Because she was a Werewolf, she used her bite as an advantage to get over him. When she noticed he was a little bit feeble, she snatched the ring off his finger and tried dashing off but he materialized at her front and struck her hard on the face.
She tumbled to the ground weakly, her furious eyes fixed on him.
"Don't try to intervene because I have a mission here, you are being so brave and you're risking your pitiful life as well." Damien muttered to her before grabbing the ring back from her.
She struggled to get it back from him but he grabbed her by the neck and compelled her.
Camelia and Kate became worried when Hazel didn't show up on time. They decided to leave the library to look for her.
"Have you seen my friend, Hazel?" Camelia asked Matilda, one of those sassy rude girls in class.
"Like I care," Matilda blurted as she rolled her eyes at Camelia. The rest joined in mocking Camelia but she was unbothered about them as her concern was on Hazel.
Kate scurried towards Camelia's seat and brought out a strange paper she saw on her desk.
It says;
"I have your friend with me. If you truly want to save her, then you must come alone to see me at the vampire's quarters during closing ho
urs.
I know you know who I am, so It's pointless to include my name.
I'll be expecting you, camelia."
