Chapter 60 - Destination
Chapter 60 - Destination
When Karim was 6 years old, the Cohen massacre happened. He remembers his father coming home bleeding but with a smile on his face.
His men accompanied him happily and victorious. Before entering the front door, Otto smiled at his men and shouted:
"The Cohen plague has finally been extinguished. Those who have tainted our lineage. Those who dared to challenge us are dead." He cried out in happiness, while it was answered with cries, claps and howls.
"Now, Lincoln Cohen is extinct and my sister is avenged. We have won and this abuser can never attack us and shame our clan again."
His companions shouted in response and euphoria. Karim just watched, without understanding much. He always heard that the Cohen clan was a plague, that they were evil and murderers, so they deserved to be killed, right? But hearing these words from his father’s mouth gave him a bad feeling, as if it was wrong.
Karim grew up to be the perfect alpha, no mistake was allowed or weakness. Alphas, according to his father, had to be cool and calm. Moreover, to impose respect was necessary.
Karim could not go out with anyone or be who he wanted, everything was hand-picked. Including his possible future omega. All this restraint, was transformed by the young into irony and sarcasm.
But one day, everything changed. He, his mother and brother heard angry screams coming from their father’s office. When they arrived at the scene, everything had been destroyed and Otto was panting and with teeth shows.
"That damned one is alive. And his filthy offspring, too." Otto looked at his family members, panting. " Must find this despicable being and finally exterminate him. There can be no Cohen left in the world." Hatred was visible in his eyes.
"Calm down, Otto." your mother asked, approaching her husband. "Tell us what happened."
"I received a letter, Cohen is alive and his puppy too. I have to find them. And exterminate them from this land."
\----
3 years passed and they finally found Lincoln Cohen, but he was already dead. Only his remains remained. And that made Otto furious. He attacked several of his men that day, calling them incompetent. Something he had never done. Hatred had taken hold on him.
And it was there that he ordered Karim to fetch the offspring of Lincoln Cohen, after all, had not found another body.
"You have to exterminate this disgusting remnant of the world, do you understand?" Otto ordered his son and Karim accepted, wishing to please his father. But something changed that day. His wolf fell in love. He knew he had found his destined omega.
The sun had just risen and Karim saw she dancing in the rain, with red scarf and barefoot. She smiled and was beautiful, like a Goddess in the middle of nature.
Karim was paralyzed at that moment, his wolf knew she was special and could not kill her. That woman was his destined omega, his soul echoed with hers. He could not hurt her in any way.
He watched her for a few minutes, deciding what she should do. Until the girl fell to the ground. She looked lost, as if she was afraid. On a spur, Karim moved but was heard.
The girl looked for him, but she could not find him. Luckily he hid well, but he could see that her eyes were beautiful. His chance to follow his father’s order was there. Carrying out his mission was too easy. But for the first time, Karim disobeyed and hid something from his father. He returned and did not tell Otto about the girl. And this caused the Ramesses clan not to find their future omega that day.
Karim followed Sera to protect her from his family and in the future, from anything that might harm her. She was smart and seemed to notice that someone was following her, but he was experienced and could hide his presence.
The moment he got the news of a massacre, Karim felt bad. It was his family who had done this. Was it right, a whole clan pay for the mistake of only one man? At that moment, I knew not.
When she arrived in town, Karim had to act the way he was taught, he also had to disguise himself, being rude to her. He held a smile to see how she was educated. But the fact that she did not speak worried him. Had something happened? And how could his father think that someone changed and without a wolf, it could be a threat? Well, Karim found out how strong his wife was later and regretted underestimating her.
Karim tried to push her away and protect her only from a distance. He did not want to get involved or come close. For, would have problems with his father. However, he had already betrayed his father when he found that he could not keep away from Sera.
With each event they became closer and Karim knew that he already loved her and that Otto would not be happy about it. But he never imagined that his own father would give him up to be killed by the enemy.
\--------
And today, anger took hold of Karim. The man he hated most at the time was in front of him. Because of him, Karim was arrested and because of that, Sera should be in trouble.
Karim growled, the negative energy in his soul took over and he wanted to destroy Otto Ramesses and see him suffer.
Otto looked at him with indifference and gave an arrogant smile. "" You are here too. At least I punished you for your betrayal, you arrogant brat."
Karim turned into a wolf and attacked him. All the slaves watched the fight, after all, it was not every day that there was such a show.
Otto was thrown to the ground and growled too." You were bewitched by that whore Cohen and should pay for your stupidity."
"Shut up. Don’t talk about my wife like that. You’re angry that he could do something you couldn’t yourself. You hate her, for she take your revenge." Karim growled, attacking his father, piercing his neck with his teeth.
Otto screamed as his neck was bruised. He pressed the son with his paw, pushing him to the ground. Karim moaned at the impact as his ear was bruised. But to Otto’s surprise, he began to regenerate.
"Mother is with me, Otto. I had forgotten as much as you. But thanks to Sera, she is with me now. And no one can beat me, including you." Karim smiled, proud.
The slaves looked at that scene with curiosity and in a way, hope. If that boy had the support of the Mother, could they have it too?
The fight continued for a few minutes and no one interfered, not even Akiner. Karim stood up and growled. His father was weak and tired, he had won.
But Otto had no time to get up when a deafening scream came from the dark tree. It was like a hurricane that knocked everyone down.
"Hold the tree. Put more spheres." He heard Akiner scream and somehow, Karim could recognize the fear in his voice.
The ancestral wolves tried to follow their master’s orders. But there was something strange in the tree, a light shone like fire inside it, and an explosion came, hitting everyone.
The fire took over the place, screams were heard. It was a magical fire, divine, that mixed between orange, red, yellow and black.
Karim tried to get up, but he couldn’t. He was alive, but weak. Screams and the smell of burning took over the place. The smoke affected the lungs of all, making them cough. Karim hoped that without a body he could not die.
Suddenly, without anyone expecting it, a shadow came out of the tree and walked to the ancestral wolves. Karim somehow knew that it belonged to Kallias.
The shadow was bringing fear and terror. She went to the ancestral wolves and asked in a cold, dark voice: "Who murdered my omega?"
