gaping hole

i was cold, feeling the air run down my spine. I had gotten so used to the magic surrounding the castle that i found it difficult to breathe.

“i was almost about to give up on you never coming out of the castle, guess Lucia was right after all” i heard him approach me, causing my body to tense up.

I touched my neck, sighing in disappointment when i saw that my neck was bare of the amulet. “fuck” i muttered under my breath, trying as much as possible to not show that i was panicking.

“what? Your little boy toy did not give a protection spell? Well that was not very thorough of him again” he was teasing me, taunting me was the right word to use.

“Helio-” i took in a deep breath, trying as much as possible to get away from him but the air around me made it difficult to move.

“you really should not waste your energy, you should keep it for when you are struggling against my hold and begging for your life.” he said with a smile, looking at me with wide crazy smile “i really cannot wait to have you beg, don’t you think that begging would suit you?” he said, taking my face in his smile, forcing me to look at him.

“fuck you…”he tightened his hold on me, restricting my air flow.

“you know… if you beg me, rolling on the floor and all then i might make your death merciful and save you the pains of torture.”

I looked at him, defiance in my eyes as i looked at him. “do as you want bitch” i did not get to complete my sentewnce when my face was forcefully shoved to the side by a slap.

“foolish, your bravery is nothing but foolishness, i hope you know that” he said, looking at me with that same sinister smile.

“Samantha!!!” i heard my name called with desperation from a distance, causing all my muscles to go tense.

“would you look at that? Lover boy came to save you, how predictable” i looked up, seeing that wicked look in his eyes. “how do you think this would turn out? Would he get to save you or would you get to save him?” i shook my head, true and genuine fear gripping my body.

“don’t you fucking dare!! to touch him” he laughed, like genuinely laughed like i gave him the world’s best commedy.

“i swear, you crack me up every single time, i don’t know why” he said, wiping away the fake tears from his eyes.

My name got closer telling me that he was getting closer, i turned, looking for him in the darkness.

“Sam” he said looking at me with wide eyes. looking me up and down. “you left..”

“get back!!!” i yelled, hoping that he woul at least listen to me.

“look i know we are arguing right now, but you can’t be stubborn you just have to wear this and protect yourself and…” i looked to the back of me.

Could he not see? Could he not see that Helios stood behind me, smiling like he had gotten his prey right where he wanted it?”

“FUCKING GET THE FUCK OUT WITH THAT THING!!” i yelled, pancking as he stood straighter, taking a step towards us.

“you just…” he looked at me, a bit disappointed, “it really has come to this? You would do anything to get away from me?” he said looking at me with a pain filled gaze.

“i swear it is not what you think it is, i just….” helios passed by me, reaching to Andrew, i was too slow, not being able to reach him in time when he struck Andrew.

It took me a while to realise that the scream that surrounded me was mine.

“you know, i look at you and realise that you did not deserve the kind of love that you were given” he said, with his hands being buried in his chest.

“did you tell her?” he said, looking at Andrew with a knowing look “that you used the last bit of your magic to make this protection spell” Andrew opened his mouth to say something but instead, he spat out blood.

“how do you feel” Helios said, looking at me. “that your actions caused his death” those words knocked the air out of my lungs. I looked up, seeing the fading eyes of Andrew.

“get your hands off of him!!” i yelled, trying to move but it was impossible, it was as though my feet had been glued to the floor.

“oh please, don’t act as though you care, you knew damn well that this was going to happen when you did not take it when he initally gave you, but who am i to say anything or complain? I mean it all worked out in my favour so i would take it, don’t you think so?” he said, twisting his hands inside his chest, digging.

This took me back to the time when Andrew jumped in front of Eric when Eric was about to hit me and the time when..

“ i have taken what is mine” he said, violently ripping the still beating heart from Andrew’s body as though he was ripping paper to shreds.

I gasped, looking at him and then the heart. I was ready to pass out. I watched, stunned into silence while i watched him, Andrew, drop to his knees, still looking at me.

Just as he dropped, Helios disappeared, making it possible for me to move freely again.

“ANDREW!!” i yelled, going to hold him upright so that he did not fall.

“wh…why d..did you not t..te..ll me.. ab..out the. D…ea..l” i opened my mouth, not knowing what to say.

I looked around, looking for the fastest way back home. “you are so stupid” i said, throwing him on my back, not minding the gaping hole in his chest that was bringing out blood…
