about the conversation

He tensed up before letting out a sigh. “do we really have to talk about that now? We are having such a good time and….

I said nothing, looking at him with a straight face. “fine then” he said, looking at me with that tired look on his face. “what do you want to know?” he said, looking at me.

I looked at him, a bit shocked. “normally, people would start with ‘i can explain’ you know? Try to plead that they are innocent and even try to tell me that maybe i misheard” i said, trying to keep my voice as light as possible when i wanted nothing more than to scream off my head,

He shrugged his shoulders looking away from me and looking at the moon, concentrating all his gaze at the moon as though the goddess herself was going to come out of it if he starred hard at it. “what is there to talk about? What is there to explain? All you heard is the truth, and i am not going to lie to you just so you are not mad at me” i felt my heart break at his words

“so….” i started, feeling my mouth heavy at the words i was about to say next. “i was just meant to be some….” i took in a deep gulp.

“yes” he said, looking at me, tearing his gaze away from the moon’s light. “the main reason i approached you was just because we were compatible and you would have been a nice match.” he let out a chuckle as though what we were talking about was funny. “if i had gone through with the plan, then maybe i would have added another fifty years or so, depending on your lifespan”

In all he said, it was the way he said it so nonchalantely, while i stood there, not being able to believe my ears. I was… for lack of better words, shocked. I felt my heart become heavier by the second. “are you hearing yourself?” i yelled, standing up with much force that the chair scrapped the floor before falling to the other side.

“you did all that… pretending to be my friend, and…” i was to infuriated to speak that i looked at him, letting out an exasperated breath.

“why are you getting so worked up about this?” he said, true confusion written all over his face.

“why am i worked up? You don’t see the problem in all of this?” i said, looking at him like he had grown another head because at this moent, he might as well grown another head.

“no, i do not. Granted, i approached you with those intentions, but i can assure you, from the moment i spoke to you, it was like all that changed. I could not, for a moment think of hurting you. It just felt… wrong to do so.” he said, putting his hands at the back of his head as if he was going to stretch.

I sat back down on the chair, not really knowing what to say. He was saying all the right things and it got me more angry because what the hell was i going to do with all this anger?

“that was still a shitty thing to do” i said, my voice no longer as harsh.

“i know, but i glad it happened, i got a chance to know you and knowing you gave me a chance to fall in love with you” he said with another shrug.

I was a blushing mess, not really knowing what to say to him. “but…” i said as a thought crossed through my mind. “your mum is hell bent on…” he looked at me for the first time since we started to speak and his face did not look in anyway pleased with the opic of his mother coming up but i had to know.

She looked like if she had her way, i would be sacrificed and drained of all my blood if she was given the chance.

“what about my mother?” he said, looking at me with those cold eyes and deadly voice.

“well she did say something about me dying or you… and..” his hands gripped me, stopping me from completing the words.

“there is nothing like that happenign. I can assure you. So stop worrying about-” i shook my head, i already knew that part. There was no way i hell or under it that he was going to let any harm come to me, that much i knew.

“i know that already” i said, trying to force a smile but it was not just coming forth.

“oh” was all he said, the very laid back attitude he had few minutes back seemed to vanish rather quickly “then what do you want to talk about then?” he looked at me, laying a little straighter on the bed

“the part that you talked about… about dying… what did you mean by that?” i asked, placing all my concentration on him to see his body reactions.

“i don’t think we should be baving that conversation now Samantha, i am still recovering” that seemed like a logical explanation. But i was selfish. I needed him to clear the doubts from me now, not later, not in the next few minutes or maybe hours, it had to be now.

“i very much think we should have this conversation now Andrew” i said, looking at him, not trying to assist him to sit up properly because knowing him, he was just going to stand up and walk away.

“ah… i see” was all he said, looking at me for a minute before he looked away.

“so? What do you mean?” i looked at him, waiting patiently. “or rather what did you mean by that?” i don’t know why i expected him to say something but as usual, i was meant with the same response of what he said earlier.

“again, i am sorry, but i don’t think i am ready for that conversation right now” he said and just as predicted stood up to leave…
