secrets 2

I took a step back, not really believing what it was that i was hearing.

“well that is why i have made it easier for everyone” he said, sounding like he was tired. I opened the door slightly, peaking through. They were so engrosed in their conversation that they did notice that i was there, watching, none of them could sense me.

“Sevan!” the queen turned to the doctor who looked like he was about to shit his pants.

“y..yes my q-queen” he said, shaking like a leaf.

“how much time do we have left to save this fool from ruining his life?” she said, without mercy in her voice.

I looked to the supposed fool. He looked unbothered, looking at Sevan as if daring him to say anything to his mother.

“i am afraid i cannot say, but…”

“useless!!!” she yelled, looking at him with venom in her eyes.

“i need that feeder here this moment and…”

“it is of no use” Andrew cut her off, looking at her with amusement in his eyes “she already left, away from the castle and away from me.

The mum looked ready to rip his head of and send him to the goddess her self. “you…” she was interupted by a coughing feat from Andrew, scaring everyone in the room including myself as i watched him cough out blood.

I wanted to move, but stayed hidden, scared for what the queen would do if she saw me.

“Don’t you fucking stand there, do something!!!” she yelled, looking at sevan.

“i am..” he took in a deep breath, “there is nothing to be done anymore. The only way is for the girl to be…”

“fucking hell..”

Just like earlier, i saw his skin grow pale and this time black veins filled his face, threatening to cover every inch of his skin

“Andrew?” i called, the familiar fear gripping my body as i watched his breath cease.

“ha” the queen said, looking from me to him. “you really would give up your life to save this peasant would you not?” she looked at me one last time “fine! Die if you want” she said, walking out of the room leaving the doctor who disappeared right after her.

I held his hands, not really knowing what to do in that moment. Because really, what could i do?

“you’ll be fine” i told myself over and ovet again because that was the only thing i could do. And that had to be the truth, he had to be fine.

The goddess seemed to be on my side because slowly, he turned back to normal, looking more drained than i had ever seen him.

He took in a deep breath as the whole ordeal was over, looking around as though he was looking for soemthing or someone.

"hi” i said, rubbing his ar. He looked startled, like he did not know that i was here.

“what…” he took in another breath. He looked like he was struggling to breath but was trying to mask it. “what are you doing here?”

“staying with you and hoping that you do not die” i said, leaning back on the chair.

“Sam i can explain” he stood up from his chair, falling right into my arms to prevent him from falling.

“there is nothing you can explain to me, not now anyways… i just.. i need you to get better then we can talk it out” i said, holding him tighter to myself as i choked back the sob.

He mumbled a string of words, but i could not make any sense out of them.

“it’s okay, i just.. i would be here when you wake up, just please, get well soon” i said, trying and almost faliling to put his now unconscious body on the bed.

I let out a sigh as i arranged his body on the bed, seeing how peaceful you look.

I let everything i had heard so far wash over me.

It was really a rollercoaster, one i wish i could come down from.

“Andrew” i called, holding his now cold hands in mine. “i swear by the goddess” i used my other hands to aggressively wipe the tears that were threatening to fall. “even if you lie to my face about all that i have heard, i would still believe you, so please….” i took in a deep breath, trying to not my voice crack.

“let all that i have heard today not be true, i beg you.” i said, unable to hold back the tears anymore.

I could feel it, the barrier put around the castle being pressed against, no doubt it was Helios. I held on tighter to Andrew, as if that was going to stop anything from happening.

Few minutes latter, everywhere quietened.

**

It was in the middle of the night, with the moon sitting brilliantly at the night sky.

“do you miss it?” his voice called, snapping y attention to him.

“you are awake!” i said, feeling a bit of happiness as i watched him sit up. “maybe you should rest a moment, so you don’t exert yourself too much” i said, helping him so that he lays back down.

“and so are you, are you not meant to be resting, the tournament…” i shook my head, cutting him off.

“the tournament can wait, i proised i was going to be here when you woke up” i said, giving him a forced smile. He nodded.

“if thats how you feel” it was quiet again for a while, my attention going back to th moon. “do you miss it?” he asked again, causing me to cock my head to the side.

“miss what?” i asked, genuinely confused.

“pack life. The night hunts, the shifting process..” i shook my head.

“i never really cared for those. Maybe it was because i never truly connected with my pack members” i answered. He nodded, causing us to go into silence again.

“have you had anything to eat?” he asked. I could not tell if he genuinely cared or if he was stalling..

“Andrew, about what i heard earlier…
