Chapter 34
Lena's POV
100 years later
"Then what happened after the war?" Her voice whispers as she crunches the peanut in her hand.
She was so noisy as I groaned and took a peek around, we were the only ones left in this place and thanks to her, I spent my useful hours on narration.
It seems she was uninterested in the tales I told her. To think that everything felt unrealistic to her was bemusing.
"I'm a writer so let me think of the next line" I mused, rubbing my head and yawning softly.
It was obvious, Lena and Arkan together fought side by side to win the war.
Then Lena changed her mind against the V’rek people as she realizes not all V'rek were bad people.
"Did she have a child for him?"
"Rossa, stop jumping into the denouement, let me explain!"
She rolled her eyes with an expression of disdain and folded her lips.
I knew she was puzzled why I used my name for the storyline. Somehow, I felt a connection with the tale I tell.
It felt as though something was missing but I couldn't fathom for that.
"You skipped the part Arkan came rescuing you" she pointed out as waves the hard copy of the novel to my face.
"Oh..." I stutter, feeling dizzy and adjusting my glasses.
That day when the high lords were gathered, he had figured out Lena or I was captured by lyraea.
He had sent her to keep an eye on Lena and she got to learn she was captured. Hastily, she informs Arkan right on time who grew furious and went to rescue her.
That was before the elders proposed a meeting. I glanced at my friend rossa, she seemed stressed, leaving her mouth agape.
Dark rings circled her eyes as it was obvious she needed to sleep. What kept her awake was the coffee in her hand and the peanut which she crunched.
At least, she got this introvert out of the house on an important day like this.
She was intrigued by the hype of my novel and requested we visit a cafe where I have to summarize my novel.
Who does that? Just because I was bored, I accepted her offer.
"So in essence, what you're trying to say is, Lena...you in your imaginary world and this hot devil Arkan gave earth hope and united humans and aliens..." She paused and looked at me with a serious gaze.
However, she burst into laughter and then rolled her eyes unbelievably.
"You're crazy, there's no such thing as aliens and that Lena girl is evil, why would she murder the man who loved her so much?" she pointed out, yawning and feeling weak.
Languorously, she rose from the chair and strained her shoulders growling.
I have kept her all day long narrating this book as she hates reading.
"Then how do you explain the high tech and AI humanoid we use now?"
"Your lies made you the best selling authors, get ready for your fans, the fan meeting starts in 30 minutes!" She reminded me and I widened my eyes.
I totally forgot, argh! How disappointing. Tonight was my fan meeting. This very book I summarized for her had become the best-selling book in Los Angeles.
Everyone was intrigued by it and kept asking me for another series, however, it seems the ideas were gone and I'd like to end it where it's meant to be.
I came to terms with her, she was right, there were no aliens but just my imaginations.
However, why was it so difficult for me to accept?
"Elena" she called and I shifted my gaze to her. Rossa carried her bag, heaved a sigh and said;
"Maybe you should add the part that he came back for revenge"
I refute her idea as I needed a break from writing and I'd be spending this year's christmas on an island.
"Argh, rossa I need to get dressed!" I panicked and tensed that she made me forget an important day like this.
"Don't panic over that, I got you covered" she mutters and I roll my eyes bemused.
Rossa was only confident because there was a shopping mall close by where I could change into something more appealing and comfortable.
To be sincere, I was jinxed and nervous. It was the first time I would be in a fan gathering, having to hear their opinion.
I guess my introvert life wouldn't be as quiet as I want it to be.
We rounded up at the cafe and headed to the shopping mall to get dressed. I was quite impressed at how Ai was taking over and it was quite fast.
Whosoever brought the initiative did their best. We arrived at the designated location for the fan meeting right on time and I was relieved.
While we paced inside, I could see soldiers in robotic suits, posing and chatting with fans around.
I invented those and if I were to ask where I got the ideas from, I'd never know.
It just keeps coming like I've known everything about science and creations. It seems as though there was a part of me that was erased.
I've always wanted to be a soldier, traveling to space and exploring whatever they were fighting against but then, I had a change of heart and just stuck to writing.
Rossa abandoned me at the exit door, wishing me all the best and I ignored her.
She wouldn't be blamed because she had received a call from work that something urgent came up.
I wanted her to be there to be a strength to me and wish me well.
While I walked to keep up with time, some fans found me and rushed to get my autograph, some took selfies.
Soon, cameras were rolling in and it came flooding my face.
My book would soon be adapted as a movie and how excited I was for the turnouts.
Fortunately for me, a bouncer was around to take these people off me.
At last, I got to the hall and wow, the turnout was amazing and baffling.
It made me feel like a celebrity having so many fans to welcome me. Initially, I walked through the backstage to appear on stage after the introduction by James, the anchor.
There was thunderous applause as I stormed the stage, feeling shy and timid. However, I had to hide that.
The person who anchored this program directed me to my seat and when I sat, I blew kisses to the fans.
He was friendly and funny too, cracking jokes for everyone to settle in before we begin the reason for the gathering.
I answered every question thrown by James, trying to hide his nervousness by gulping down the glass of wine placed on a stool adjacent to me.
It was time for the fans to ask their questions as I prayed so hard that I could answer them.
The first question got me jinxed as I swallowed hard, trembling where I sat.
"He's coming...for you"
It was an old woman who I thought wouldn't have an interest in the tale I speak of.
