The Traitor's Accusations

Keira's Pov

The traitor struggles to stay upright while on his knees in front of the angel kings and I.

"Your majesties . . . you're powerful and wealthy. Everyone envies you. But truth is you never deserved any of the glory, or above all your beautiful, virtuous queen. You delight in your undeserved graces just like your lazy, traitorous father. For this you deserve a punishment like none other," he states in a bitter voice.

The man must have lost his mind. Or Arina bewitched him. Nothing he said makes sense. The father of my husbands was a renowned hardworker and generous king who built a kingdom so strong that all others envied him. No one else has ever called him a traitor because he never was one.

"Sounds like you have lost your mind a lot more than the witch herself," Garren comments. "You have the chance to tell us where she might have gone and what were your evil plans with her and we might consider letting you live," he adds in a menacing voice.

The doctor still scoffs. "You think that foolish girl is the biggest enemy you have got? The sins of your father follows you like a curse. The mighty Zedon has made it his mission to destroy you. You will never find peace until everything and everyone you cherish is gone!" he lets out an evil laugh.

Everyone frowns at his crazy rant. I thought that Arina was the craziest person I have ever met, but our once good doctor has become completely insane.

Who on earth is Zedon?

"Let's just hang the mad man, he probably has no idea where the witch is," Fenris says.

"Actually I think he is telling us something much more important," Conrad says. "We should torture him to know more."

"More about his mad rant? He just insulted the our father, the man that founded and cherished this kingdom.

"We all know that King Aric was never your father! I only insulted the angel that your mother slept with to give birth to you!" the traitor boldly roars.

Angel Garren angrily lands a thunderous slap across the doctor's face that makes his head rotate backwards.

"Opp! That was harder than I intended," the angel says as the traitors dead body falls to the floor, neck broken and head facing backwards.

"No need to care, his head was lost anyways," Fenris pats his brother's back. "Thank you for the good work. You may leave now," he dismisses the soldiers that brought in the traitor.

Something the man said bothers me. He claimed that the former Luna bedded an angel to give birth to the angel kings? That's not what the rumours say. She made a wish. Or is there a secret she withheld from her sons?

"We need to sit down and talk," Conrad says. "The man was wrong about us, but I fear that the person he spoke about is real."

"You are fretting over hus rant?" Fenris questions. "Not a word he said is true. And that idiotic witch will have wasted all of her three wishes and destroyed herself by the time she returns here," he confidently adds.

Conrad falls quiet for a brief moment, seeming thoughtful.

"I believe our super is ready. Let's go eat. I have something to tell you," he says.

"Did you know that a person sees the thing they are most afraid of when you cast your illusion of fear upon them?" Conrad asks Garren as we eat the delicious meal.

"We both know that I wasn't in my right mind when I did that. I do not expect an apology to fix it but it will have to do for now," Garren answers.

"My intent was not to make you feel sorry. I was about to tell you what I saw," Conrad tells.

"What did you see?" I ask.

If the angel wants to talk about it he must think it's important.

"I saw the face of evil, Zedon, the man that our traitor spoke about. He was obsessed with destroying us," he says.

His brothers laugh. "You're afraid of that fairytale? Our doctor was crazy, or bewitched," Fenris assures. "Besides, I promise to protect you from every little thing that you're scared of."

Conrad snorts in annoyance. "Have you ever thought that your powers may not be the most formidable weapon in the world? That perhaps I am telling you about this evil being because he is actually more powerful than us?" he questions.

His brothers scoff once more. "I am sure what you had was just a bad dream. No beings on earth are more powerful than us." Garren assures.

"We should ask the priest," I say.
