Solving The Puzzle

Keira's Pov

I read the text titled, "The Identity Spell," frowning at it's weird content.

"To steal a person's identity one needs the blood of their victim as well as an object belonging to those that they wish to fool. The enchantment must be done by a powerful sorcerer," I read out loud so that Angel Conrad and the alpha can hear.

The rest of the text include strange words that should be uttered during the casting of the spell. How did they get items belonging to my mates to cast the spell?

"The Shaman already had my blood, but not anything belonging to you," I tell Conrad.

"Maybe we should search the place some more. You never know," Luther says.

He summons five more loyal servants to help us. Good thing everyone is eager to please an angel king .The servants excitedly search the house for several hours, bringing anything suspicious to King Conrad.

"I found these in Aria's closet, your majesty," one of the servants proudly reports while holding out three scarfs made of sea silk. Two are grey in colour and has silver decorations, while the third is white and has golden decorations.

"These cannot have belonged to her," alpha aleric observes.

"They belong to my brothers. None is mine," Conrad answers, taking the scarfs from the servants. "Someone was stealing from the palace," he adds in an angry tone.

None of the scarfs are his, which explains why the spell didn't affect him. Whoever was stealing for the Shaman and his daughter didn't know that Conrad's scarf would mostly be pitch black with gold decorations. The grey scarfs are obviously angel Garren's while the white one could only have belonged to Fenris.

"Only a servant could have stolen them. A traitor within the palace," I say.

"I too found something," another servants informs, bringing an old text to Conrad.

"Thank you. This is really useful," he says and the servant nearly jumps in exhilaration. I wonder if they have heard that the angel king is actually in exile.

"We got a way to end the fake mate bond between the witch and my brothers," he says after briefly taking a look at the text.

"A reverse spell?" I ask.

"Yes. It can be broken if we recreate the mate bond she had with her original mate," he answers.

"No. With all due respect, your majesty, I want nothing to do with that witch," Luther says.

"I will kill her as soon as the fake bond between her and my brothers is broken. You have my word," Conrad promises.

The Beta nods hesitantly.

"What is required to recreate the bond?" I ask.

"His blood and her's must be mixed then this words be chanted by an experienced sorcerer," Conrad answers, pointing at the specific words at the bottom of the text.

"None of us is an experienced sorcerer. And I don't see a way we can get Ariana's blood toix with mine," Luther points.

Of course none of us knows how to cast a spell, and there are no other sorcerers in this pack. If we start searching Aria will know what our plan is even before we make it work.

I think about our options for a long moment.

"Arina can be the one to cast the spell. We just need her to believe that it is your blood she is mixing with her's," I say to Conrad.

Everyone raises their eyebrows. "I don't understand. What are you suggesting?" Conrad asks.

"Aria must be frustrated that she didn't get you as well. You're a threat to her little success. I am suggesting that we make it look like you want to join your brothers and have a mate bond with her. We will send her Luther's blood blood instead of yours. Once she mixes the blood with her's and casts the spell her original mate bond with Luther will return, ruining the one she has with your brothers," I explain.

"That's . . . extremely brilliant! I now see why you're the most virtuous woman," Alpha Aleric praises. "I would reward my Luna if she ever thinks of something so incredibly wise."

"If I were to reward my queen's wisdom I would be forever in debt," Conrad says before leaning closer to me. "But I promise a life of bliss once this problem is behind us," he whispers.

I know there is nothing like a happy ever after. Not in this world at least. Troubles will always arise. But it's good to not point that out now. What I actually value most is his company.

"Thank you in advance," I say.

"How are we supposed to make our enemy believe that I now want her so she can accept the blood?" he asks.

"We will write a letter. She will believe every word because she is desperate to have you as well," I answer.
