Chapter 63 Lucian's pov
Chapter 63 Lucian's pov
The moment Stephan’s eyes locked on the blue blood staining the floor, I knew everything had changed.
I had failed to hide it.
Maybe it was time he really felt threatened. The same way his father had killed mine was the same way I was going to make him pay. But I knew it was not now.
All my life, I had buried that truth deep inside me. After the death of my family. The truth that wiped my bloodline from history and turned us into whispers, forbidden stories. True Alpha blood was not meant to exist anymore. It was hunted. Erased.
And now, Alpha Stephan has seen it.
The elders had seen it.
The whole hall had seen it.
My only thought was Sienna.
I stepped fully in front of her, my body blocking every angle, every threat. She clutched the back of my shirt tightly, her fingers trembling. I could feel her fear through the bond we shared.
She believed I would protect her.
And I would.
Even if it cost me my life.
The elite guards moved again, hesitation flashing in their eyes now. Fear. They had seen me in combat the last time. They knew they were not worthy opponents. But Elder Vincent’s voice rang through the hall.
“Kill him!” he roared. “Bring the Alpha his head!”
They obeyed.
They always obeyed him.
They came at me in waves. I pushed Sienna further behind me, placing her near one of the pillars. “Stay close,” I told her quickly. “Do not move unless I tell you.”
She nodded, tears running down her cheeks.
I didn’t wait.
I met the guards head-on.
Years of training took over. Every movement was sharp, clean, and deadly. This was what I had been molded into since I was young. A weapon. A survivor. A soldier meant to fight when no one else could.
The first guard rushed me with his blade raised. I twisted, grabbed his wrist, and snapped it backward. His scream barely escaped before I slammed my palm into his chest, crushing his ribs. He fell, coughing blood.
Another came from the side. I ducked under his swing and drove my knee into his stomach, then slammed his head into the stone floor until he stopped moving.
They were strong.
But I was stronger.
They fought as a unit, trained, fast, ruthless. Still, they were not prepared for me. Not for my speed. Not for my strength. Not for the power burning in my veins.
Blood sprayed the hall. Bodies fell.
I could hear the elders shouting. Some were excited. Some were terrified. I caught a glimpse of Henry near the edge of the hall. His face was dark with anger and worry.
He had warned me.
He had told me to let Sienna go, to stay hidden, to not expose myself. But I couldn’t. I wouldn’t. I had made a promise to her mother long before this day. A promise sealed in blood and grief.
I would protect Sienna.
With my life if needed.
Another guard lunged toward Sienna.
My vision went red.
I moved without thought, crossing the distance in a blink. My claw tore through his neck, severing it completely. His body collapsed at my feet.
Silence hit for half a second.
Then Alpha Stephan moved.
I felt him before I saw him. His aura slammed into mine, heavy and furious. His wolf was raging now, no longer restrained. He shifted partially, his claws extending, eyes glowing bright.
“So,” he growled, stepping forward. “You are the threat to my throne. The aura I felt then, was it you?
“ It was never yours to begin with.” I straightened, blood dripping from my arm, my chest rising heavily.
His laugh was cold. “There is no leaving now. You are going to die here with her!”
We collided.
Our wolves clashed with a force that shook the hall. Stone cracked beneath our feet as we slammed into pillars and walls. He was powerful—stronger than most Alphas I had faced. His strikes were brutal, filled with rage and wounded pride.
Claws slashed my side.
I roared, pain ripping through me, but I didn’t slow down. I drove my fist into his jaw, sending him crashing into a long table. The wood shattered.
We fought like we had been waiting for this moment our whole lives.
The elders watched with wide eyes. Some stood. Some leaned forward. Even Elder Vincent looked eager now, his lips curved into a thin smile as if he was enjoying the chaos.
Stephan shifted fully.
So did I.
Our wolves tore into each other. Teeth sank into flesh. Blood sprayed—red and blue mixing on the stone floor. My injuries burned, my vision blurring, but my wolf refused to fall.
With a final surge of strength, I plunged my claw into his stomach and ripped sideways.
Stephan screamed.
I sent him flying across the hall, his body crashing into the steps of the Alpha seat.
He didn’t rise
I didn’t wait to see if he would.
I ran to Sienna, grabbed her hand, and pulled her up. “Run!”
She didn’t question me.
We sprinted down the hall as Stephan’s voice thundered behind us, furious and wounded. “Seal the gates! Kill them! Bring them back alive or dead!”
Guards poured in from every direction.
We ran.
Pain tore through my body with every step. Blood soaked my clothes. My wolf was slowing, but I forced him forward. Sienna stumbled once, and I lifted her without thinking, carrying her as we pushed through side corridors and hidden paths.
Some elders moved as if they wanted to help.
But none did.
Fear ruled them..
Fear of Elder Vincent.
We couldn’t go back to our hideout. I knew that. It would be the first place they searched. Every safe place I had ever known was now compromised.
We reached the main square just as chaos spread through the pack. Wolves shouted. Guards ran past us. The crowd was thick, confused, and panicked.
We blended in.
I lowered my aura, forcing it down despite the pain. Sienna stayed close, her hand never leaving mine. We ducked into an abandoned storage area behind a row of shops.
I collapsed against the wall.
Sienna rushed to me immediately, her hands shaking as she tore strips from her dress to clean my wounds. “You’re bleeding so much,” she whispered, crying openly now.
“I’ll live,” I said, though my body disagreed.
She cleaned me carefully, her touch gentle, full of worry. When she looked up at me, her eyes were filled with love, fear, and something fierce.
She leaned in and kissed me.
It wasn’t soft.
It was desperate, hot, full of promise and pain and choice. A kiss that said she was mine and I was hers, no matter what came next.
When night finally fell, we moved again.
Using the darkness as cover, we made our way toward the front gate.
That was when we stopped.
The ground was covered in bodies.
Guards. Wolves. Blood soaked the earth so deeply it smelled thick in the air.
Sienna gasped softly, gripping my arm.
I tightened my hold on her hand. My eyes scanning the area.
