Chapter 55 Lucian's pov

Chapter 55 Lucian's pov
Immediately we reached the door, Henry looked at me. “Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked, staring at me.

I nodded.

“ Open the door.” Henry said with a commanding voice.

The guard nodded and the door was immediately pushed backwards. My gaze was locked on Sienna standing in the court. I could tell that she was scared but the moment she saw me, she felt at ease.

I nodded affirmatively to show her that I was now feeling better.

I didn't need to tell Henry what I was up to. If I noticed there was going to be an issue, I knew what I was going to do.

I gave my consent, a signal to Sienna to start talking.

Sienna looked at me and then back to the alpha that was standing in front of him. I could feel his aura. I still don't understand why they couldn't feel my power as an Alpha when I had been under their nose all this while.

Maybe my wolf was hiding us. It was a good thing, though. I remembered what Martha told me the night she rescued me.

“Keep your head down, and maybe you are going to live for a while. Keep the anger in until you are ready.”

That was her words and it kept ringing in my head until now. I can't help to think the time is now. I have a mate and together we were unstoppable.

We were powerful together and I could feel it. My gaze locked with Juliet who seemed to be a bit tense.

“ Care to tell the court and the elders where you have been all this while?” Efron asked

“ I was taken hostage and I tried to silence for good.” Sienna said with an angry look on her face.

Alpha Efron looked at Stephan. “ Did you know about this?”

Stephan shifted uneasily on his throne. “ And why should I be concerned about a woman who is a traitor? Her mother killed my father. If she is dead or alive, why should that be any of my business?”

I could feel my wolf get angry, trying to claw it way out of my skin. He was talking about my mate like she didn't matter.

Sienna turned to look at him and I could sense the anger burning underneath her skin too.

“ So, tell us Sienna. Who had you captured and why?” Efron asked again.

“Olivere and Elder Vincent. They both had me captured. Also, they tried to kill me, but one of the guards rescued me.” Sienna said, almost breaking down in tears.

“One of the guards?” Stephan said with his eyebrows arched. “If you are indeed captured, care to show us where you are hurt?”

“Does she need to? You heard what she said, didn't you?” Efron said angrily again. “They were trying to hide something. And we are going to find out what it is today.”

The pack hall erupted into murmuring with all the elders talking together at once.

“Quiet!” Stephan roared. His Alpha eyes scan the room. He slowly stood up from his seat. Each step going towards Sienna.

My hand slowly went to the tip of my sword. I was not going to allow anyone to touch her. Not even Stephan himself.

But instead, he stopped halfway across the room. “You said you were rescued by this guard, and yet you are trying so hard to protect him. Why? Is there something you are hiding from the pack?”

Sienna arched her eyebrows. “How come you didn't see any of this, Alpha Stephan? Are you so blind that you cannot see I am not the villain here?”

The room went dead silent.

It was clear everyone was eager to hear what she had to say. “My mother was killed and accused of treason. Yet you did nothing. Did you hate her that much?” Sienna said, finally breaking down in tears.

“Hate? That is just an understatement for a woman who murdered and killed the Alpha of the pack.” Stephan snapped, his Alpha robe moving gently as he moved.

Elder Zack finally stood up. “Tell us, Sienna. What you knew.”

“Olivere here killed Alpha Marcus with a poison potion. I had it with me, but I lost it when I was captured by Elder Vincent.” Sienna said, staring at Olivere.

Olivere laughed the moment her name was mentioned. “And why would I kill the Alpha of the pack? A man who greatly loved me and is also a friend of my father's.”

“Yes. Tell us why she has to do that!” "One for the elders," he said from his seat.

“Can you stop talking?” One of Steph's uncles said again, hitting his hands against the table in anger so that it caved in two.

“Go on, little one,” he said, staring at Sienna.

Maybe this was it. Maybe Martha was right after all. Bidding my time, trying to have Stephan cornered was what I had been waiting for. Maybe today was the day I was finally going to get my revenge.

“You accused me of claiming I killed the Alpha, but Juliet here can testify to it that your mother was the culprit. Care to tell us what you saw that day, Juliet?”

All eyes drifted slowly towards her. But I knew one thing: Juliet was definitely going to repeat the same thing she had told the pack that very day Martha was killed.

I wanted to stop the execution, but I could see the look on Martha's face. It was not what she wanted.

Juliet stepped towards me, her gaze locked on me for a while, but I saw something in them.

Fear.

She was scared. Her confidence was suddenly gone. “Tell us what you see, and don’t hide anything from the pack. You should know the consequences of your actions if you do. And trust me, you are not going to be paying by just blood when we find out what you said is false. Speak.” Elder Zack with a low voice.

The whole pack went dead silent. Each of them waited to hear what she had to say.

But I knew exactly what she was going to say, and a part of me knew that today, there was going to be bloodshed. But what I didn't know was where and when.

Either way, I was ready to protect the one thing that was important in the room.

My mate.
