Chapter 47 Badass Evan
Evan choked, coughing out the food in her throat. Her eyes widened in awe. Her head spun and she began to see stars. Ezekiel froze at the information. His eyes which were cold days ago had gained a little warmth thanks to the girl sitting close to him.
He stood up from his chair, gritting his teeth. His eyes were red crimson.
He clenched his fist, making his palms bleed. Evan could feel the anger radiating from him.
Before she could blink twice,he was already gone into thin air. She bit her lips trying to predict where this type of information was coming from. The council officer who brought the news rose to his feet ready to leave only to be stopped by Evan.
“Wait!Wait!” she ran after him, her long night dress making it impossible to run fast. “Where did you get the information from?” she asked without beating around the bush.
The councilman gave her a suspicious look.
“Who are you?”he asked as he looked at her from her head to the soles of her feet.
She swallowed hard as she glared at him.
“I said where did you get that information from?”she asked, surprisingly losing her patience.
The vampire growled at her.His sharp canines coming into view ready to devour its prey.
Evan sighed;she wasn't in the mood to play games. It seemed she had been wrong about Ezekiel. She saw Ezekiel display an emotion. Anger. He was angry.
“Who are you?!”the vampire repeated his question. Unlike Ezekiel, he was a lower rank official, meant for fighting off war and running errands for their leaders.
Without fear, Evan stepped forward.
“I don't want any trouble, dear. I was just asking a question.” She hadn't successfully ended her statement before she spotted his nails elongating into sharp thin blades.
“Haha!Look at this lowly human. What do you think? I guess I'll just make you my food. Your blood smells really nice.” By this time the vampire's eyes were already bloodstained. Evan snickered. Ella had given her a potion preventing only Ezekiel from sensing or perceiving the scent of her blood.
As if they were both discussing the sun intending to shine by night, Evan majestically walked past him, exiting the front door. The vampire was slightly confused. He followed her, this time boiling with fury. He was a stubborn person who hated humans with a passion. He was just a mid-level vampire when it came to wealth. He was a normal vampire but seemed too proud like a pureblooded vampire.
“Haha, get ready to die. Who the hell even let you in here? It's an abomination for you to sit with the Duke of Greenwave and eat on the same table as him. You deserve nothing but death,” Evan heard behind her. She quickened her pace as she walked to the back of the mansion. He followed her with a much quicker pace, trying to prove to her that vampires have more speed than lowly humans like herself. He thought Evan was falling into his trap. Meanwhile, it was the other way around.
Evan started running, using her left hand to lift up the dress so she would be able to run quickly.
And as expected, the stupid vampire followed her. She ran, making sure he wouldn't catch her until she got to her destination. She ran past the second mansion, going deeper into the backyard of the Donovan compound.
He followed her with speed, boiling with fury. When Evan got to her destination, she stumbled to the ground, groaning in pain.
“Ah!Please don't kill me,” she pleaded.
“Now let's see who is more superior.By the way, did anyone tell you your blood smells so good?” he asked. Evan stood up dramatically, pretending to be in pain.
And then he leaped on her. Evan stretched her hand, bringing out an icy sword. She chanted a spell transforming into her real self. The vampire restricted his moves with eyes open wide. He began to stammer.
“Yo– you… it's”
“Yes,it's me. Evan. I'm sure you know this face very well, dear.” The vampire fell down to the ground due to shock.
Evan brought out a sarcastic smile.
“You already know your fate.Death. I brought you here because I was searching for a better place to bury you, dear.”
Her voice was low and a little romantic.
Though she could chant a spell,Ella had taught her she could change into her true form for a while, maybe five minutes. Chant a spell and transform herself into someone else, like disguising herself.
Her true self looked like a badass from the abyss of hell. She blew an air on the icy sword, making it disappear into the air, only for her to create an icy scythe with her hands. “This one looks more pretty. Don't you think?”
“And yes,Duke Ezekiel once told me my blood tastes so good.” She stepped forward, pointing the scythe at him.
“Congratulations, you've just been erased.” With that, she ripped off his head, tearing it apart from his body.
Drops of blood splashed on her face and she used the back of her hands to wipe some of it. Her eyes darted around the place. Spotting a good place to bury him, she hovered her hand in the air, creating many kinds of different icy weapons, using her hands to control them as they dug the ground deep enough to fit the idiot. After she was done, she rolled him into the hole, using her hands to control the sand, making sure to bury him properly. After she was done, she noticed her body transforming back to her disguise form.
Touching her face, there was no blood found, so as if nothing happened, she walked away as a devilish smile played on her face.
…
Later in the noon,Ezekiel came back home. She tried talking to him, but he ignored her like a piece of wood. This was worse than when his parents died. She could see his eyes as cold as ice. As if the world was about to end.
She was sitting at the dining table having lunch. It was apple fruits. She guessed the only thing she would do from now on was eat. She was sure she'd get fat soon.
From nowhere, Ezekiel emerged, taking her hand.
“Your blood,I want it.”
