Chapter 31 Chapters 31 Isabella's story
Whispers inside nightmares. When your soul fights against you and doubts your motives. To gain power comes with pain. Many people take it by force, but their stories all have a tragic end.
It is rare for a teen to possess power.A power of a queen. Isabella never knew she would be the queen of witches or that a day like this would come. The power chose her because she has a pure heart. The power chose someone it thinks can control the power and rule the white witches peacefully.
This is the greatest secret about the white witches. They are not just ruled by anyone; you have to be chosen by the power. If your hair never turns silver and you plan to be queen of white witches? Forget it. Isabella was shocked when the power chose someone as young as her. She had to hide herself properly. But power cannot be hidden.
The queen died and no one’s hair is glowing silver.Thinking that if she does not go someone will take over the throne, Isabella had to report back to her village town.
If someone that is not chosen rules the white witches, there will be no unity among them. Black witches will strike.
That is the last thing Isabella wanted.
“I see,”Evan mumbled, lazily staring into space as Isabella narrated the story. A slight smile tugged on Isabella’s lips seeing Evan wearing a solemn expression. To be honest with herself, she has not seen that expression on Evan’s face before, not that she has spent too much time with Evan.
“I seem to understand now…”
“What do you seem to understand?” Isabella cut in, making the leftover words catch in Evan’s throat.
Taking a break, she hugged herself like a kid, a wide grin on her face.
“Why witches are so beautiful. Now I understand. Because you guys are in unity,” she said, her hazel eyes spotting a log. She immediately ran towards it, making herself comfortable on it.
“I wonder how Ezekiel is doing,”Evan suddenly said. Isabella was not supposed. That duke was too charming. Even when he is killing someone he looks more like a god and can leave a girl spellbound.
“You are kidding yourself.Do you think he cares about you?” asked Isabella. She walked up to where Evan was sitting, taking a seat next to her.
Evan’s hazel eyes were glued to a space. They remained unblinking. “Do you think he is thinking about me?” The words left her lips and her tone carried a bit of hurt.
Isabella shook her head in disbelief.
“Well yes.But in a bad way. He is a sociopath! You do not know him.” Isabella would do all her best to convince Evan. It was true that she had grown a lot of hatred for the duke, and would prefer Evan not to go closer to him.
“He is bad! He is not good at all for someone as kind as you, dear,” said Isabella, gracefully sitting down next to Evan.
“What should I do?Can I send a message to him? Do not worry I will use a leaf in writing…”
Evan did not get to finish her words.
“No!”said Isabella with a firm voice, making it clear to Evan. Not wanting to continue the topic, Evan kept quiet. She was extremely careful, making sure even the flush of her eyes did not create a sound.
…
Moments passed without them doing anything.Isabella was so fascinated to learn that the Donovan mansion was almost furnished. Though that was not the scariest part. Soon a girl arrived, all dressed up in white color and a uniform Evan could not predict. The tunic was long to the ground. A big dress.
“Master, everything is all ready. She can start now,” said the girl in white.
Evan’s brows knitted together, wondering what they were talking about. She turned to her side, lifting one of her eyebrows, questioning Isabella.
Isabella ignored her and just nodded to the girl in acknowledgment.
Then the girl left. Evan giggled, ready to shoot questions, but Isabella was sharper to throw hers first.
“Why do you want to know?It is not for little kids." With that, Isabella stood up, beginning to walk out of the place.
“Come with me,”were the words that left her lips. It was so peaceful and blissful. The bamboo was a blessing. Seeing too many bamboo trees, Evan got fascinated, ready to shoot her questions at Isabella’s neck.
“Why so many bamboos?”
“Because the land likes bamboos here;that is why they are growing up in green pastures,” said Isabella as a slight chuckle left her lips.
To Evan the explanation felt so simple and she needed a reply better than that.
“Why?”
“Evan, I do not know, just follow me.” Saying that alone was to remind Evan about her safety. If the disguise was removed, Ezekiel would be able to find her because he gave her a mark.
They got to a point where Evan could only hear water from a distance as it hovered from the distance. The more they walked deeper into the bamboo pasture, the more the sound of water became more audible.
Bit by bit they came across the almighty waterfall. It was as if showers of blessings from heaven itself were descending down to the earth.
“WOW!This is quite big,” Evan exclaimed. Her eyes stared at it in curiosity. A strong urge to ask a question about it.
“Well, welcome to the almighty purifier waterfall,” said Isabella. “It is our hope. When you feel depressed you can come and take a bath from this waterfall, dear.” Saying that was enough to make Evan’s heart skip many beats.
“Huh?How can someone possibly take a bath from this waterfall?” The reason was crazy. It was too big. It would swallow a human immediately they got into it.
“Do not worry, dear, it is harmless.” Isabella assured, but that was just a waste of time. Evan loved her life, even if it was under pressure at the moment.
Seeing her hesitation,Isabella’s smile widened. Gently placing her hand on Evan’s shoulders.
“You need to be part of the combat. And before you do, you need to enter the river. It is the purifier. Without bathing here you cannot exist in our land.”
