Chapter 26 I'll find you, Evan
“What do you mean, escape? Isn't that supposed to be impossible?” For the first time after so many days since a member of his family passed, his expression finally changed after so long. The councilman observed him. But there was still something wrong, it was unpredictable. The councilman couldn't tell if he was sad about the news or happy or angry.
“I don't know.We woke up only to discover the majority of the iron bars already rusted into sand. It looked unreal,” the councilman explained calmly.
Each word that came out of his mouth made Ezekiel's eyes move. His teeth clenched.
“You can leave,”he dismissed the man who immediately left through the door without even bowing his head. Ezekiel paid no attention to that. His mind was now glued to the fact that that girl managed to escape. He couldn't help but ask himself these questions.
How did she escape? From where? How is that possible?
It was totally sane to ask this of himself.Never in history, it was more than five hundred thousand years since that prison was built and in all that history no one ever managed to escape. So how is it possible that Evan, not even a vampire, a mere human, managed to escape so effortlessly.
His mind drifted back to when she was missing from the stream. She was missing and suddenly showed up. It was a situation that needed to be questioned. Ezekiel never believed she was a black witch as there was no solid evidence of that. She grew up in this mansion and he hadn't sensed any dark aura from her. He figured she was framed in some kind of way but…
How did she escape?
He went straight to his room and didn't even wait for the maids to set up the bathroom for him.He took a quick shower but put on a long sleeve blue shirt and black trousers. His hair was left messy and like a flash he and his carriage left for the council.
“Calm down, master, we'll find her,” the coachman assured calmly as if he was truly certain. In truth he didn't give a damn if his master found her or not.
“Do you care?” came Zeke's words. The coachman wasn't surprised by that. It was as if his master could read what was on his mind. “Just calm down, she isn't that important,” the coachman replied. Zeke kept quiet. If it were another person who said that, the person's body would've been laying lifeless on the ground. The one person Zeke won't kill is this coachman. He has grown a soft spot for him.
“Move this carriage and shut the fuck up.Whether she's important or not doesn't concern you,” was Ezekiel's only words. The journey took two hours before they arrived. Ezekiel got down from the carriage and instead of going to the main council he went to the prison. He passed every corridor and noticed the rusted iron bars which were now transformed to pure sand.
He was left mystified.
“Milord, this is what happened yesterday. We found a councilman on the ground. We thought he was dead but to our greatest surprise he was sleeping,” a senior official said. The duke was left dumbfounded. This was so strange for a human girl like Evan.
“I've sent a few men to search for her.We have high hopes we will fix…”
“High hopes? You can't even watch a human girl, what am I even saying, a kid!!!” Ezekiel vented his anger. Taking a deep breath he went straight into the cell where Evan was kept. He saw that the invisible wall in front of them was also damaged.
“Evan, what are you?” he mumbled to himself.
It was too irritating to see such a scene. He went back to his carriage and slumped into the back seat.
“Move this thing,”he instructed the coachman which he did. The carriage took five minutes before they got to the main high ranked council officials. Zeke got down before the carriage even landed.
He went into the building. It was massive. Instead of heading to his office he moved straight to the top building. Straight up to Lord Raphael's office.
As soon as he banged the door open he stormed in, landing a clean punch on the person behind the table.
“Ugh!Fuck!” Lord Raphael groaned. He touched his jaw, groaning in pain.
In truth,he dodged the punch but still chose to act.
“Ezekiel!!I'll kill you.”
“What kind of people are guarding the prison?Evan escaped,” Ezekiel blurted.
“I know,”came Lord Raphael's response.
“If you know,do something!”
“Ezekiel, that isn't on me. Now get out.”
The moment those words left Lord Raphael's lips,Ezekiel gripped his collar.
“This isn't a joke,Raphael. I'm warning you.” Raphael smiled at the boy. He was one kind of a sociopath.
“I can do nothing.Black witches everywhere. They're destroying little villages. I need to help as the lord of this land. You can go take care of your own shit.”
If it was another thing, Lord Raphael could be sure to help. But not Evan. He never liked that girl, not even for a second. He wished wherever she was, let her be dead. With a deep frown Ezekiel left the office. He felt like killing anyone that might cross his path today. As he walked, everyone looked at him, eyes petrified. Only someone who is ready to die would dare go near the beast.
His office was on the third floor of the building which he got into. The fight room he immediately got into him. The door almost ripped apart as he entered the office.
The intimidating aura in the office welcomed their master joyfully, adding to his own killing vibes, blending with the fury in his mood. If someone entered this place at the moment, there is a high possibility that person won't make it out alive. Either their bones or spine would be broken.
Placing both his hands on the table, the sound echoed inside the room.
“Evan,I'll find you no matter what.”
