Chapter 127 127
Chapter 127 127
Kimberly's POV
What could go wrong?
That was what I thought before I left home for school the following week. But in all honesty, everything went wrong. Well, not everything.
I just wasn't expecting to see him sitting in his usual spot, since nothing had happened over the past weeks.
I've gotten used to not seeing him over the last week, so seeing him now sent a jolt of shock through my body. I stood at the entrance for what seemed to be forever before I walked to my seat. On my way, I saw Amelia.
The look on her face was not short of how she looked at me throughout last week, like she had a vendetta to settle with me. But I did not care one bit. I'm not exactly interested in whatever she has going on. And she can keep her beef to herself
I already have a lot on my plate, so for me to have an altercation with her. What my parents had told me was still ringing in the back of my head. And it was still shocking to me that I agreed to what they said.
It was all like a dream to me. And I was dreading facing London. Does he know about it? Is he aware that he would be getting married to me? I'm sure if he does, he would be against it. I mean, he was like an arch enemy to me.
He hated my guts, and I hated his own too. It went two ways. Something inside of me has been hoping all of this time that he would somehow not agree to this whole arrangement since I heard about it. But then, who could tell?
As soon as I sat down on my chair, there was silence in the whole of the classroom, and I knew that everyone's attention was on us. Well, me.
It was like they were waiting for me to come before they actually gauged the reaction that would come from the both of us sitting together again.
If there was any extra space, I would not even want to sit with him. But then, there is nothing I can do right now but to suck it up and pass through the day like nothing was going on, pretending that he did not exist.
By the end of the class, I was legit going crazy. The space was too small for me, and I thought I would snap very soon if I didn't leave this place.
He was too still, and he felt aloof, like nothing had happened. Like him, it might be nothing. But it was a lot to me. And….
And I'm letting it get to me, which is very crazy. By the time we ended the first half of the day, I could not wait to leave the room when London suddenly materialized in front of me.
“Are you going for lunch?” He asked me curiously, his hands stuck in his pants. I looked at him, a little confused, and my heart started to beat fast. What does he know? His gaze gave nothing away.
“Why are you asking me that?”
“We should eat together.” He said nonchalantly that it was not a big deal.
“I don't see the need to do that. You can do whatever you want to do without involving me.” I said to him, standing up.
“So, you have decided to move over to London now that Julian has dumped you?” Amelia's voice was carried through the whole class, and I froze. I turned to face her slowly.
Her gaze was sharp as she stared at me, as if she hated me. There was this thing in her gaze that made me think that if she had her way, she would actually hurt me.
“What do you want from me, Amelia?” I asked her, not giving her the satisfaction of being scared. I really did not care. The only thing that made me feel some kind of way was the fact that Julian was sitting right here. In the middle of everything. I did not want him to see me crack.
“Nothing. It's just not very cool. And it does not look good on you.” She snapped irritably, folding her arms.
“Drop it. And mind your business. This has nothing to do with you.” London spoke with a hint of disgust in his tone.
Amelia was definitely not expecting that because her eyes widened and her cheeks reddened in embarrassment.
“Are you supporting her?” She asked wide-eyed.
“Whatever I do is none of your business. Besides, if your eyes had been opened properly, you would have seen that I was the one who walked up to her and asked her out.” There were a couple of murmurs in the class.
Can everyone leave already? Why are they still here? I groaned internally.
“I did not know there would be a day like this where you would support her after everything you have instigated me and other people to do to her.” She fired back, and I froze. I looked at her as if willing to elaborate on what she had just said, but she smiled widely. “What? You think you're a different person where no one can touch you? As I told you the other time, you don't mean shit. And don't take whatever he says to you to heart. He made me befriend you. And said I should do whatever I could to get you down. So, yeah. That was why I became your friend in the first place. Not because I was too bored. And in me bringing you down, that video came to life. I was wondering what I could not get to you again. Then that video happened to happen.” She said.
I staggered on my feet.
What was I expecting?
It was not supposed to be news to me. I mean, it's London.
“So, what am I supposed to do with that information?” I asked her, and she was taken aback, probably because she was not expecting me to say that.
She was about to shoot back when Julian stood up and rose to his full glory. And silence fell on the whole class.
