Chapter 126 126.
Julian's POV

Not like I did not know what was happening with her. I could tell. From the way my body was reacting, I could tell that she was not doing fine. The connection we had earlier when we started has already rekindled again. And if this is how I feel, I don’t want to think of how she was doing. I knew it would not be good. My temperature runs on the hotter side, which was not supposed to be, and I knew it was because of her.

I pushed my hands through my hair.

“And I’ve told you, whatever I do is none of your business. She’s my girlfriend, not yours. So fuck off.”

“That’s where you’re wrong. She’s not yours anymore. You know, when I came here, to this town, she was the first person I actually saw. I mean, really saw. And I felt so bad knowing that she was already your girl and I could not make a move on her. But this time around, there is no telling what I will do. I have my charms, you know. And instead of her hanging up a bastard like you, I’ll walk her through it, and I’ll make you see how I will make her mine. You……”

I did not let him finish the statement he was making when I rushed towards him and sent a flying punch into his face. From the force and the crunch that came after, I felt this kind of relief, but anger was burning through me.

“You will not dare, Cole,” I said to him, and he turned back to me. His eyes had changed already, and his fangs were out.

“Try me.” Was all he said before he came at me. And we went on and on for minutes or hours. All I knew was that by the time we were finally tired out and apart, there was blood on the throwing pad on the ground, and I mean, much blood, and my whole body ached.

I lay on the floor next to him, breathing heavily. He looked as terrible as I felt. My eyes were swollen, and there were some slashes on my body from his hands.

He really went all out. And he did me a little good because after what seemed like forever, I felt silence in my head. There was no constant humming and buzzing. And it felt like I could breathe a little.

“I didn’t want to do it. Hell, that’s one of the things, or the only thing I’ve regretted doing in my life. And don’t ask me why I did it. The only thing I’ll tell you is that I did it for her. She deserved a good life with someone else. Someone who is not like me. My life is dark. She’s human. And you know what I’m talking about. But even though I know all of these things, I still don’t want to let her go. I want her to think about me every single time and not be able to move on from me. I’m selfish. I know. But……”

“That’s not the real reason you’re letting her go right? I know you. As you said, you’re a selfish prick. Even though you might look like you’re the most considerate and calmest person ever, you do not play with what you think belongs to you. It’s a lot that you are even in this situation. So tell me what’s wrong. Or I might really make a move on her.” I growled, and he chuckled. The bastard.

“It’s Arnold. He’s threatening me with her.”

He was silent. And I knew what he was doing. I could feel the wheels that were turning in his head.

“You could always take him on.”

“This is different. He knows I’m invested in my feelings with her. He knows I’m….. I’m in love with her.” My voice came out very low. I never thought that he would be the first person that I would be admitting that to. Not even to myself. But him.

Saying it out loud made my whole skin crawl with attention, and I felt like my body was burning. Coupled with the healing of the slashes that were made by Cole earlier in our fight.

“Well, shit. Who knew that the cold, arrogant Julian Alexander had feelings? I would have bet my money that you’re only keeping her because you think of her as a property that you don’t want anyone else to have, not because you’re actually emotionally invested in her.” He said bitterly.

“Well, I am. I…. I think I’m crazy about her. There is no passing day that I don’t think about her. She’s been on my mind. Even before this whole thing happened, she’s always found a way to stay there. Since my mother died, I have never cared about anything or anyone the way I do about her. That’s why I don’t want Arnold to touch her. I was able to play it like nothing was wrong before now, but he got to know. And he’s capitalizing on it.” I said.

There was a comfortable silence in the gym. I winced a little as my wounds healed.

“Your body temperature has changed. You’re hot.” He said dryly.

“That’s been happening since I met her. But it’s been worse lately. I rarely feel cold anymore. It’s like my body has adapted to this. And my heart skips and beats so fast and loud that I can hear it. I think I’m broken.” I said.

“You’re doing a lot of admitting to me, cousin. Aren’t you scared that I will take your matter to the coven and ask them to remove you? You’re already on a thin line as it is. Since you’re half-breed and you’re not supposed to lead them. But here you are…” he drawled out.

“I don’t really care about what happens there. And if anything in this room gets out, I’ll kill you. Damn what my uncle will do.”

“Remember that uncle is my father and he does not play about me.” He laughed out, and I rolled my eyes.

“Well, he might have to this time because I will actually kill you.” I stood up and stretched my hand to him. He grabbed it and hauled himself up.

“Speak to her.” Was, what he told me before he left.
