Chapter 53 Nightmare.
Everything around me was dark. The sky was grey, pregnant with a heavy downfall. I was in the middle of nowhere, stuck in what looks like a battle field.
Down the hills, I could hear the sounds of screams and sword clashing against each other, and when I looked down all I saw was dead bodies. Some had their heads removed from their bodies, others were missing some part of their bodies. The air reek with the metallic smell of blood and darkness.
I clasps my palm to my mouth in horror as bile rose to my throat. What the hell is happening here?
"Kate," Domenic's familiar voice had my head whipping towards his direction. His shirt was soaked with blood and his hand was clutching his lower stomach as if in pain. His green eyes were weak and tired and his fangs were out.
"Domenic!" I exclaimed and ran towards him, but as I tried to hold unto him, he vanished into thin air.
I stumbled back in shock just as a deep voice echoed in the silent space. "Do the needful, or this will be the fate of your lover, and the world he loves so much."
I looked around in fear at the voice that rang out literally out of nowhere. "Who are you?!" I yelled into the silence.
No answer came to me, but then a mighty growl threaten to throw me off the ground. It shook the earth beneath me and got my heart pounding hard in fear.
I was shaking. I had no idea where the creature was coming from. Just as I turned around to study my surroundings, a huge beast with glowing golden eyes jumped at me with a might growl.
I screamed and shot up from the bed I was laying on. I was panting hard trying to catch my breath. What sort of terrible nightmare was that?
I looked around me in surprise to find that I was in a small worn out room. It looks old and dusty like it hasn't been used for days. My back ached because the bed was made of wood. There was no mattress on it.
"Where am I?" I wondered aloud just as the door was pushed open.
Domenic walked in as confident as I remembered. He was dressed in all black. A black tank top with a black leather jacket over it.
His hair looked unkept and tousled but it only made him look sexier. His green eyes shone when he saw me and he rushed forward and knelt beside me.
"Kitty!" He exclaimed happily.
"Domenic," I threw my arms around him before I could stop myself. I can't deny the fact that I miss him so much. I miss him so damn much. I waited so long in that lonely cell knowing that he would come to save me, and he did. Domenic kept his promise and came for me.
Tears rolled down my eyes unto his jacket. "I knew you would come for me. I knew you would save me."
He patted my head gently "its okay Kitty, you're safe now. I'll never let anyone hurt you ever again."
His words brought me tremendous relief. Domenic always says what he means and I know that no matter what happens from now on, he will be there to protect me.
I pulled away from the hug and held his chin. His eyes were warm as he gently brushed off the tears from my cheeks. "I'm sorry that I wasn't able to protect you Kate. From now on I won't let you out of my sight."
Overwhelmed with so many emotions, I leaned forward and connected our lips. At the taste of his lips, my body instantly grew warm as I was quickly reminded how it feels to be kissed by him.
Domenic held my waist and pulled me closer to deepen the kiss. I felt like I was in heaven as our lips moved in sync. Right here with him is where I belong. I want to stay here forever. There is no need for me to deny my feelings anymore. I have to tell him. He has to know just how I feel about him.
We pulled away for breath, but our forehead were still connected. "Domenic," I breathed out. "I love you."
There was no hesitation in my words. I knew it, and I could feel it in my heart. I have never felt this way for anyone in my life. Domenic means more to me than I could ever have imagined. I want to ve with him forever, I want to be his. Fuck the fact that he's a vampire! I still love him, all of him.
He didn't reply. Not that I expected him to, but it still hurts a bit. Nevertheless, I'm going to do everything within my power to have him as mine. I'm going to make him love me.
Domenic smiled slightly. It was a sad smile and I hated it. I don't want him to feel pity for me. It's fine if he doesn't love me, but I don't want his pity. That would make it seem like he never will.
He brushed my hair aside and asked. "Would you like to go somewhere with me?"
I smiled back with an enthusiastic nod. "Yes Domenic. I'll follow you to the end of the world."
He chuckled and stood to his feet. Then he offered me a hand to help me get up from the bed as well. I stood to my feet standing very close to him, but I was no where close to his height and I had to crane my neck to look up at him.
"Let's go." He lead me out of the small room pass an even more rusty and dirty living room, and then out of the small house completely.
A girl was outside chopping woods in only a sport bra and spandex shorts. Her body looks so beautiful like it was carved by a god.
I looked at Domenic and then at the lady. Who is she and why are we at her place? I couldn't help feeling jealous.
She sensed our presence and turned to look at us. My breath caught in my throat when I had a good look at her face. She is impossibly beautiful. Long red hair and eyes as blue as the ocean. If beauty has a name, it definitely would be this beauty in front of me.
"You're awake." She said with a grin as she came closer. "Domenic was sure worried about you. He couldn't sit still because you won't wake up. Such a lover boy don't you agree?" She winked at me while Domenic glared at her.
"Uh, who are you?" I couldn't help asking. She looks a little too friendly to be Domenic's love interest.
"Oh, forgive my manners!" She put our a hand towards me. "My name is Camille. I'm Domenic's older sister. Nice to meet you."
My eyes widen in realization. She's Domenic's older sister who he isn't so fond of? Then why the hell did he bring me here?
I took her hand in order not to seem rude. "Oh I'm..."
"Kate, I know. My brother had a lot of good things to say about you." She cut me off with a mischievous grin.
Domenic took my hand and pulled me away from her. "We are leaving. Thanks for your help."
Her playful expression vanished to be replaced with resignation. "You're really not going to change your mind?"
Domenic looked down at me and I frowned wondering what they were talking about. "I won't."
He pulled me away from her and I heard her yelling behind us. "Bye Kate. I hope you'll change your mind brother!"
"Change your mind about what?" I couldn't help asking Domenic as he pulled me along with him.
"You'll find out soon enough." And that was the only answer he offered me.
