Chapter 51 Eyes.
Domenic POV.
It was easy for me to defeat the guards who stood there ready to fight and capture me. They were no match for me. In a second, their heads were piling on the floor disconnected from their bodies.
The last vampire standing could not dare to attack. A coward who values his life a little too much. I decided to spare him since he made no move to go against me, but I walked towards him and held him by his throat, then I lifted him off the ground.
"Where is Giron?" I snarled at him. The flash of my dangerous fangs was a promise of what would happen to him if he dared lied to me.
His body was vibrating in fear and his face twisted in pain as I choked him. He forced out the words anyway. "Giron is at his chambers. He's ill."
I frowned in confusion. What could be making him ill? Giron has always been a very powerful vampire. It's a surprise that he's ill.
"If you love your life, you will take me to him, understand?." I growled to the vampire but he refused to answer as he struggled against my hold. "Understand?!" My voice thundered in a growl and he squirmed against my hold.
"Yes! Yes! Please spare me."
I let go of him and he fell to the floor like an empty sack. "Now, lead the way." He stood up clutching his neck in a pained hold and he began to walk forward to which I followed closely.
There was no one else in sight so it was easy for the vampire to lead me to Giron's room. I was still surprised at the fact that Giron is ill. What could be wrong?
Not that I'm worried about the bastard, but I know just how powerful he is. It feels wrong to hear that the powerful Giron has suddenly fallen ill. Does father even know about this? Don't tell me the shadow monsters have finally gotten to close to our Kingdom.
We arrived at Giron's room and the doors was pushed opne. The room was every bit that of a powerful man. Gold furnitures and artifacts were all over the room and Giron was laying on the king sized bed looking weak.
I approached him with caution. His eyes were open and his fangs out, but his expression was twisted like he was in so much pain.
"I knew you would come, but I never expected that I would be in this position when you do. Weak and useless." He forced out the world looking like it pained him a lot to even breath.
Despite my anger towards him, I was still curious to know what happened to him. "Why are you like this?" I asked in an emotionless tone.
He groaned panting hard. "It's that demon human of yours. Her blood is poisonous! I took her blood and ended up like this!" He lamented in pain. "Take her away from my coven if you want. She's a danger not just to me, but to everyone in my coven."
I frowned in confusion. Kate's blood did this to Giron? How is that possible? Her blood saved my father from the venom of the shadow monsters, and I've been taking her blood which have been making me stronger. What does Giron mean by poisonous?
I decided not to explain anything to him. It's a good thing that Kate's blood poisoned him. He deserves it, but if he tells this to the council, they would hunt Kate down either to kill her, or to use her for their own selfish purpose.
Kate has to leave this world as soon as possible. If she remains here, her life would only keep falling into danger and I don't want that. Her blood has the ability to poison a vampire and at the same time make that vampire powerful. If other species find out about her, they might come for her.
I have to send her back tonight, but before that, even though Giron didn't do anything too harmful to Kate, even though he is the one who ended up being poisoned by her blood, he still has to pay for what he did.
I held up my sword and glared at him. "Even though you're asking me to take her now, you did force her out of my hands and tried to hurt her, and for that you will pay."
For a moment, there was a flash of fear in Giron's eyes but it was quickly replaced with defiance. "Don't be stupid prince Domenic. The council will never forgive you if you hurt me. It doesn't matter if youre the prince."
I scoffed at his pathetic attempt to save himself. "Do not worry Giron. I won't kill you. To kill a defenseless vampire would only make me a coward." I watched as relief flooded into his expression, but then I added. "But that doesn't mean I won't teach you a lesson."
His eyes widened in alarm as I lifted my sword and aimed the tip towards his left eye. "No! What are you doing?!"
"You shouldn't have touched Kate!" I growled, and with a vengeance I brought down my sword and took out his left eye. All that filled the coven was his loud horrified scream.
