Chapter 45 Kate or Camille 2.
Domenic's POV.
"What do you say your Majesty? Will you give the vampire princess to me as my wife, or should I keep the human girl Kate?" Giron asked slyly. His eyes were sparkling with mischief. He knew what he was doing. Father would never agree to give my sister to him and he's just using this as a means to keep Kate to himself.
Father stood up sharply, eyes blazing with anger. "My daughter shall not be given to anyone, especially not to you Giron. That is an absurd request."
"Then I shall keep the human girl." He concluded with a satisfied smirk.
"You can't do that!" I snapped in rage. "Kate is not yours to keep."
Giron shot me a lazy look. "I have made a deal prince. It's either the princess or your precious human. As you can see, the king is choosing to hold on to your dear sister."
"You will return Kate to me Giron, or I swear to the goddess..." I stood up in anger and made to go towards him and rip off his tongue, but father held me back.
"Calm down Domenic!"
I held back and flashed my fangs at his stupid smirking face. My eyes were glowing in anger and there was a tremendous rage flowing through me. Kate is somewhere within these walls, and I can't even save her.
"Don't be aggressive prince Domenic." Giron warned smugly. "Remember you're in my coven and not at the palace. Any little mistake from you, I promise you will not see the light of another day."
My fist clenched at his threat and my beast ached with the need to shed blood. I want Giron dead before my very eyes. I want him to suffer a fate worst than death for ever thinking of hurting Kate.
Father sighed and spoke again. "Fine. You've won Giron. You can keep the human girl."
I looked at my Dad incredulously. "Father!"
"It's better to have the human girl in your hands than to pressure my daughter into marrying a vampire she despise."
"What does that mean father? Are you saying that Kate's life isn't worth saving all because you don't want to give Camille out in marriage? Isn't she old enough to get married anyway?" My anger was getting the best of me and I've forgotten the fact that Giron is a monster and no one deserves to be with someone like him.
But I hate my sister as well. Why should I care if she was given to Giron? What matters to me is saving Kate.
Father doesn't seem to think so. He glared at me with such anger and harshness that I flinched. "Camille is your sister. Kate is just a human girl Domenic. Stop acting like a traitor and leave her to Giron. Let this case end here."
"Father!" I couldn't control my shock. Was this the same man who has been supporting my decision all this time? How could he turn around just because my pathetic sister was mentioned? Why am I never enough for him? Why is it always about Camille? She's not even here, and still he managed to make me sick of her.
"I will not speak on this again Domenic. Allow the human girl to face her fate. There is nothing I can do now." Father turned his attention to Giron. "We shall leave now Giron. The girl remains with you." He turned and left the hall without another words leaving me in shock at his unexpected decision.
How could he do this to me? He gave me hope. I thought he was going to help me get Kate back. My innocent human girl. She must be so scared!
In anger I looked at Giron who still has a smug look on his face. My jaw clenched and my whole body vibrated with anger. I just wish I could kill him and feed his body to the shadow monsters. I want to rip off his head.
"It's not over Giron." I swore to him. "I'll come back to get what rightfully belongs to me. Make sure no harm is brought to Kate, else I'll make sure to take your life when I return."
I left the hall as well, and as I walked down the corridor I sniffed the place hoping to catch Kate's wonderful scent, but it seems Giron has kept her in a place no one would be able to sense her.
He shouldn't worry, I shall come back for Kate and I'll make Giron regret his decision to go against me.
"How could you do this to me father?! How could you allow Giron to keep Kate? Do you know the extent of what you've done?" I questioned my father in the privacy of his room.
We have arrived back at the palace a few hours ago. Through the car ride, no words were spoken between us. The tension was thick in the air, and it was obvious that the both of us were holding back a million things we wanted to say to each other.
"It was either that or give Camille to him. You must be considerate of your sister's feelings Domenic. Kate is just a human."
"That's where you are wrong father!" I snapped, my voice raising a little too high, enough for the vampires to pick up on what we were discussing. "Kate is not just any human to me. She's someone I care about, and I won't let Giron hurt her because of the stupid decision you made."
"She's just human Domenic. You may have feelings for her, but once in a while we have to make sacrifices for peace to reign among our people."
I couldn't believe him. "Father, Kate saved your life. Her blood is special. Don't you even fear that Giron might have ulterior motives?"
"Giron doesn't know about her blood." He insisted.
"He will find out eventually, and I'm going to get her away from there before he finds out and drain her dry!"
My father's grey eyes narrowed at me in disapproval. "Do not do anything stupid Domenic. I already told you the consequences of going against Giron. The vampires would want your head."
With determination I replied. "I don't care about that. I'll get Kate away from him."
Father remained silent for a second. He stared at me with nothing but anger. Then he sighed and looked away from me. "Do whatever you want. I do not care anymore and I'm not going to be a party to your crimes. But listen well Domenic, if the vampires turns against you and ask for your head on a platter, do not depend on me to save you, because this time I won't!" He stood up from his seat and walked past me, but before he left the room, he spoke again. "I love you Domenic, you're my son. But this time, you have to choose the vampires." With that he walked out leaving me standing there angered but filled with determination.
I can't choose the vampires in this situation, because to me, Kate is more important than them.
For now, the best way to get Kate away from there is to find Camille.
