Chapter 44 Kate or Camille?
DOMENIC'S POV.
It took Lysander two whole days to make Elio confess the truth. Eventually the torture became too much for him and he had no choice but to come clean. His confession confirmed my thoughts. Giron had indeed taken Kate. The fucker took my human!
I was so filled with rage and ended up killing Elio myself. I wanted to find Giron and cut off those hands he used to touch Kate. It has been two days since Kate was taken. What could be happening to her now? What would that bastard have done to her?
Underneath my rage there was fear. I was afriad of what Kate must be going through. I'm afriad of what Giron must have done to her.
I swear if I find her hurt even a little, nothing would stop me from killing Giron. To hell with the fact that he is a council member and it would be a serious crime. But I don't care! Who ever touches Kate shall face nothing but death. A slow painful death by my hands!
"You must calm down Domenic. You shouldn't handle this situation with anger else you'll end up doing something you'll regret." My father adviced me after I had told him about Elio's confession. I was in his room pacing about like an unstable wild animal, and he was watching me cautiously.
I stopped pacing and faced my father with eyes shining with rage. "I have had enough of that man father! I do not care if he is a member of the council. If he hurts Kate, he shall die by my hands."
"You shouldn't say such things Domenic." My father warned in a disapproving voice. "Giron is no ordinary vampire. He is greatly respected and has a lot of connections. If you do anything to hurt him, not only will you lose your throne. The vampires would want your head."
In anger, I punched the wall beside me with an angry scream. Every passing second of not knowing what was happening to Kate drove me insane. This is all my fault. I should have paid more attention to protecting her. I should have had Lysander watch her even while she was at the library, but because of my stupid jealousy and fear of Kate kissing Lysander again, I decided it was best to keep them apart.
I had no one to blame for this but myself. I am definitely at fault for Kate's kidnapped. How can I claim to care about her and yet left her so unprotected in a world filled with hungry predators.
I swear to the goddess. I'm going to get Kate back. I'll get her back even though its the last thing I do, and once I have her with me safe and sound, I'll take her back to the human world without wasting a second.
This is my promise to Kate and myself.
I looked at my father and let out a deep breath to calm my anger. He is right. If I cause any harm to Giron, the vampires would kill me even before I have the chance to take Kate out of here. So I just have to handle things peacefully until Kate returns to the human world. After that I can at least pull out Giron's eyes.
"What do you suggest we do father?" I asked calmly.
Father looked pleased by my tamed tone and he answered. "We must go to Giron's coven and asked him to return Kate to you as I have already made her your slave. It's the best we can do."
"What if he refuses?" I eyed him skeptically.
"He can't refuse. Kate has already been made your slave. Giron has no right to refuse."
I clenched my jaw and said to my father in a dead serious tone. "I will do as you said father, but if Giron refuses to hand Kate back to me, I'll kill him!"
I didn't wait for any more words to be spoken between us as I turned and left the room.
Don't worry kitty, I'm coming for you!
I'll save you from that bastard. I promise!
Father and I arrived at Giron's coven that evening. The place was just as big and beautiful like the palace, but it reeks of blood, sex and disease. Screams of pain were heard in all directions and there was a few battered and miserable looking humans in cages just outside the castle walls.
Bile rose to my throat but I held back from throwing up. This is the reason why I hated coming here. Giron is a monster.
I hope he hasn't done anything like this to Kate. Even a single scratch on her body would cause him his limbs.
We were welcomed in by some of Giron's guards and they all looked at me with disgust and dislike, probably because they were aware that I killed one of their coven member. But I could careless about them. All I'm here for is Kate and no one else.
The humans in Giron's coven walked around the place naked with heavy chains around their neck and ankles. They could very well be nothing but animals with the way Giron treats them.
I ignored all this as best as I could and followed the men into Giron's court where we shall be welcomed.
Giron sat there on a pedestal with a smug expression on his face. He was in a dark red robe that was untie showing off his chest. I thought about a million ways to sink my claws through his pale chest and pull out his dead heart.
That would really be satisfying.
There were different vampire women surrounding him and caressing every part of his body, but the moment Giron saw us, he sent them away.
After the hall was cleared, he offered us seats with a pleased smile. "I am surprised to see you here with the prince your Majesty. I never thought you both will miss me this much after leaving the castle. It hasn't even been a week since I left and you have come to visit me."
My jaw cleched when he glance in my direction. He knew exactly why we're here.
Father decided to speak first. "Giron it came to our knowledge that you have the human Kate. We have come to take her back. Return her or face your punishment."
Giron raised his brows unphased my father's threat. "What is my punishment your majesty? I don't remember stealing anyone from you. The girl Kate is a human guest which is ridiculous so I decided to take her as my slave."
This motherfucker!
"I have already decided that she will become Domenic's slave. Keeping her with you means you are holding the property of the prince and it's against the law."
"But I bought her with my money your Majesty!" Giron snapped firmly. "That bastard at the palace sold her to me for a fortune. How do you plan to pay me back?"
"The money and more shall be return to you. Just give us the human girl."
Giron squinted at us with smug interest. "Why do you want her so badly anyway? Because of her blood?"
I found myself snapping before I had the chance to stop myself. "The reason we want her back shouldn't concern you. Give her back to me now Giron!"
Father placed a hand on my shoulder to calm me down, then he continued talking to Grion. "We shall return your money Giron. Give us the girl."
Giron's smile became mischievous and I know he was conjuring something horrible in his mind. Just as I thought, Giron said. "I do not want the money, but there is something I do want that you have."
Father and I gave ourselves confused looks. "And what is that?" Father asked.
With a an evil grin, Giron answered. "Give me your daughter; the vampire princess Camille as my wife, and I shall return the human girl to you."
I looked at father to find that his expression was already filled with rage.
He would never agree to that.
