Chapter 47 Discussion on the First Day
Chapter 47 Discussion on the First Day
"Hello everyone, my name is Daniella, the only daughter of Egan and Rosella. I've gathered you all here, actually, for my personal benefit. There is resentment because my father had to die in an undignified way. There are also issues from the past that we might be able to straighten out so they don't continue with Victor," I said, as we were in the larger living room and all of Dad's men had been asked to sit down.
Mother also came along, as proof that I am Egan's only daughter, and also as proof of all the cruelty that ultimately took Father's life. Mother looked strong at the other end, even though her eyes were trembling to hold back tears. Perhaps right now, at this very moment, with the same people who were present during my father's administration, we are gathered. But it wasn't the father standing in front, but her daughter, who had caused great chaos in her life.
"I honestly say that this is in my best interest. If anyone objects to participating, please stand up, and you can leave. I won't force you to help." I fell silent, waiting for their response. But not one of them stood up and left this house. My heart was pounding, and before anything else, I was already moved by their loyalty.
"If no one objects, we can start the discussion." I glanced at Damian, asking him to help me speak.
"Perhaps there's something you'd like to discuss?" Damian opened the conversation with my father's men.
"If so, I'll speak on behalf of everyone." Philip spoke up.
"We were happy when Damian contacted us and offered to collaborate again. We are also happy to see Egan's only daughter growing up and having such great courage, and our respect to Mrs. Rosella, we are also happy to meet you again." Philip's first expression was his gratitude for being able to reunite with his master's own family, which is me and my mother.
"We don't mind at all being a part of your plan. We once offered Egan the chance to straighten out all the problems with Victor. However, Egan, who was truly innocent, chose to remain silent and disband his own empire as a form of surrender so that Victor would no longer feel he had a rival and so that his child and wife would be safe. I thought all the grudges were settled, but Victor is still after Egan's life." Philip expressed his disappointment; he didn't expect that Victor's grudge was still not over even when Egan had given up all his jobs.
"Hearing your words, it seems you all know about the problems between my father and Victor. Can I know more details about that?" I asked them.
"Previously, Egan and Victor were under the same umbrella. Sir Edward is their leader. He covers all the eastern, western, southern, and northern sides of Europe. Sir Edward held all the territories until his age made it impossible for him to manage them all. He gave the east and west to Egan because Egan was his adopted son, while Victor was only given the south. Victor, who was envious, constantly targeted Egan because he desired greater power."
Honestly, I just found out about this issue. I only know that my father was made the mafia leader by someone who adopted him, and it turns out the feud with Victor started there.
"Were my father and Victor that close before?" I asked.
"Yes, Egan and Victor were raised together, forged together to become great people. It's just that Mr. Edward only gave Egan a clear status. Egan was adopted by Master Edward, while Victor was not. Maybe the jealousy started there too," said Philip.
"If everything started from Victor's jealousy toward his father, can we solve all these problems by talking to Victor?" I asked.
"No, Victor has become so cruel, like a monster from the south. He can't be reasoned with. Especially when there was another misunderstanding when Egan accidentally killed Victor's past lover, which made the fire in Victor's chest burn even more fiercely. If Victor settles his score by killing Egan, then we must retaliate with a life as well.
"Philip's expression gave me a slight chill. Mafia life is not far from war, conflict, wounds, and even murder. I'm still not used to it, and it's quite scary to hear. But if I want to jump in and eradicate everything, I also have to get used to it and learn to be a cruel human.
"If that's the case, what steps should we take first?" I asked everyone. Opening up space for discussion.
"I think we need to start practicing martial arts again. Not dealing with things like this for a long time might make everything stiffen up again. And the first thing we need besides concepts and thinking is our martial arts agility and weaponry." Collin spoke up.
"I agree; I think I can accept learning martial arts and how to use weapons." As I said that, Damian glanced at me.
"No, Daniella's pregnancy is already quite advanced. She can only practice using weapons. Let Lily and me learn self-defense." Damian's words made Lily, who was sitting next to my mother, look happy and nod quickly.
"I agree!" Lily even shouted enthusiastically.
"Alright, I won't argue with my doctor." I smiled, causing Damian to suddenly lower his head, for some reason.
"Miss, may I ask about something else?" Philip asked suddenly.
"Yes, of course."
"Damian, someone who holds the south, killed Egan. As far as I know, Victor holds the south. Did Victor give his power to someone else?" he asked.
"Yes. Victor is now as high-ranking as the Mr. Edward you mentioned earlier. And he told all his men, whoever succeeded in killing his father would be given power in the south. And someone named Dylan entered my life, pretending to love me, getting me pregnant, and trapping my father until he caused my father's death, and now he is the southern holder," I revealed frankly.
"That means we also have to attack this man named Dylan. He is Victor's henchman, and he is also the one who managed to get into Egan's life and hurt Egan's entire family." Philip's words made me nod in agreement.
As we were in the middle of that conversation, a pickup truck suddenly entered the yard. The sound momentarily stopped our conversation, and all attention turned to the car.
"My employee has arrived. He brought all of Egan's weapons and some money that we had buried together." Philip's expression surprised me a little.
"Let's go see; I hope all the weapons are still in good condition for you all to practice." Philip led the way out.
And when the large tarp was opened, there was a large chest in the pickup truck. When Philip tried to unlock the chest, everyone was immediately astonished.
