Chapter 48: Organization Formation?

So many different types of weapons are still visible in good condition, as well as another chest containing money. I'm sure this money is more than enough to support us, even to pay them.

Collin picked up a gun, loaded it with bullets, and tried to fire in a direction he felt was safe enough. The sound of an explosion was heard, and we were all satisfied because the weapon was still functioning well. Philip also asked Collin to try the other weapons one by one.

We watched Collin try out all kinds of weapons one by one, and we were grateful that all the weapons turned out to still be in good condition. Maybe we just need to dust it off a bit.

"I heard Collin is the most skilled in martial arts; is that true?" I asked the others when Collin had finished testing several types of firearms.

"Yes, Collin is undoubtedly. He even survived being attacked by twenty people at once." John spoke, looking proud of Collin, who was the youngest of their crew.

"What if he's the one who teaches martial arts again?" I asked, seeking everyone's opinion.

"Of course we won't refuse. Collin will be the perfect teacher for us." Hearing Philip's praise made Collin smile. It seems he's embarrassed to be praised by so many people for his talent.

"Then we agree, Collin will be our martial arts teacher," said Damian.

"Yes, agreed! We all shouted. When it comes to weapon maintenance, Axcel is the expert. For Luca and James's clever strategy, Jeremy and John were second and third after Collin. Basically, everything is reliable," Philip said, laughing.

"Then you handle the finances and empowerment," I said, turning to Philip.

"But I'll still fight, won't I, miss?" Philip joked, as if he were afraid it would only be kept in the office.

"Oh, please call me ma'am. I'm already married. And of course, because we don't have many members. Then everyone will practice and fight," I said, met with laughter from everyone.

"If that's the case, let's start practicing tomorrow. The sooner, the better, right?" Asked Damian.

"Sure, but is this place really safe?" Collin confirmed.

"I think it's safe enough. Not many people know this place, and it's difficult to track even though the population is over seven," said Damian.

"If that's the case, this place will be our headquarters. Please come every day at eight in the morning. Avoid arriving at the same time so no one gets suspicious. I think the man named Dylan is quite clever; let's remain cautious in our actions," said Philip.

We ended the conversation on our first day. Everyone is welcome to stay silent, enjoy the lush scenery around Damian's house, or try out weapons while chatting together.

I saw Philip approaching my mother, trying to comfort her as she was still grieving after my father's passing. I am touched and grateful that they remained respectful and polite to my mother even though my father is no longer with us.

And the terrifying image of the mafia is not within them. So far, I feel quite safe being around them and talking to them. Their faces also looked friendly; none of Dylan's men were as intimidating.

While Mom was chatting with Philip, I approached Damian, who was talking with Luca. It seemed they were discussing martial arts. I saw Damian was so enthusiastic about learning, but I had to pull him aside to talk first.

"Damian, can we talk?" Damian nodded his head. He approached me and left Luca with John and Jeremy.

"Is there anything you'd like to complain about?" Damian asked, and I walked together toward a seat that was quite far from the people.

"Nothing. I was just planning what if we capture Anne and Mary." I'm not giving a definitive decision; I just want to know Damian's reaction to this first. Is this the right and feasible step, or perhaps we shouldn't take action yet?

"If you want them, I'll ask Philip to consider it. There might be a fight, and they're starting to find out about you." That's the risk. Damian's words made me think for a moment.

"If that's the case, we still need to be well-prepared. At least it will give the crew some practice first," I said.

"I'm glad you can understand what I'm saying. It's okay if you want to bring them, but we need thorough preparation. If we take them, it means we've already declared war, and we're not ready for that." Damian's words were true; I shouldn't be rash. I hope Anne and Mary are strong and patient enough until I can pick them up.

"I understand, Damian. Thank you for reminding me." I bowed my head, and suddenly my baby moved more actively than usual.

"When was the last time you checked your pregnancy? It seems like it's growing well. Do you know the gender yet?" Damian asked; it seems the baby's movements in my womb haven't escaped Damian's notice.

"Maybe about a week ago, when Damian was rough with me and I started bleeding," I said."Bleeding? What did the doctor say after the bleeding?"

"My pregnancy is quite weak; luckily, it can still be maintained. And there's a chance he will be born prematurely," I said, stroking my belly.

"But the baby movement is very good and active. I hope the baby stays in there until it's time to give birth." I nodded when Damian said that. I also hope my baby is born at the right time.

"By the way, the baby is confirmed to be a boy. Dylan has already been claimed as the heir. That's why he took good care of me at his house; it's just that I couldn't accept all his rough treatment. I became rebellious, and he got very angry," I said frankly.

"Dylan is back to his old ways as a mafia boss. Not all mafia are like him; just look at Philip and the others. They don't look that scary. Because why? Because their leader is not like Dylan."

"You mean my father?"

Damian nodded. "All subordinates depend on their boss. If you have a good boss, then the employees will also be good employees."

"I regret ever hating my father just because I couldn't accept that he was a former mafia boss. I didn't know my father was a good boss." I smiled wryly, even though the only mafia boss who deserved to be hated was one like my father.

As Damian and I were chatting, I suddenly saw my mother hurrying toward me. One hand held the phone to her ear, and every step she took was also the focus of many people's attention.

I stood up and approached my mother, who was walking quickly toward me. She looked panicked and scared, and sweat was pouring down her forehead.

"What's wrong, Mom?" I asked, worried.

"The housemaid reported that a man carrying his wife's body came to the house and claimed to be your father-in-law."
