Chapter 39 Dylan Makes Me Waver?

Chapter 39 Dylan Makes Me Waver?
Dylan was gone for so long, taking some of his men with him. I don't know what his decision is, and he didn't promise to bring my mother-in-law home either. However, his departure gave us great hope, especially me and my father-in-law. I hope Dylan manages to bring my mother-in-law home, no matter what he has to risk.
If Dylan gave up his power for his own mother, then maybe I could forgive him a little.
Currently, my father-in-law is in the guest room. I asked the medical personnel who are treating the injured crew members to also treat my father-in-law. And I let Father rest; he must be very tired, and his mind is so confused. I can only pray that my mother-in-law can reunite with her husband safely.
It's been three hours since Dylan left. It's getting late, and I can't rest until Dylan gets back safely with Mom. Everyone must be exhausted, and the house is so quiet; only the crew members are taking turns keeping watch. Mary, Anne, and the twelve maids weren't monitoring my room either; they were resting because they were incredibly tired.
I'm tired too, but my mind refuses to sleep. So I looked back at the earphones Damian had given me earlier. He came when Mr. Victor's men attacked; I don't know if he managed to escape or not.
I put on the earphones, pressed the button there, and a buzzing sound was heard.
"I didn't expect you to call me at this hour." Suddenly, Damian's voice was heard. I was even startled, not expecting Damian to respond to the earphones so late in the day.
"I just can't sleep," I said.
"You shouldn't skip sleep. The baby in your womb will be healthy if you live a healthy life too." Damian reminded me, reminding me that there was life inside me that I needed to take care of, even though just a few hours ago I had forgotten that I was pregnant.
"Did you get home safely? Mr. Victor's men attacked here at the same time you arrived." I asked about Damian's condition now, and I was also curious about how he managed to run in a crowd like that earlier.
"Yes, I'm safe. I didn't think those were Mr. Victor's men. I just knew there were a lot of people inside the house; I could only use the time to run while everyone's focus was on a group of attackers," Damian said honestly.
"Thank goodness," I replied briefly.
"You're okay, right? The maid who knocked on your door was definitely trying to protect you from them."
"I'm fine. Dylan loves this baby so much now, so I feel so protected," I said frankly.
"Thank goodness, if he's taking good care of you."
"But I'm a little worried now. Evil Dylan, it turns out, has wounds and has trauma because he wasn't treated as a beloved child whose every need was met. Even though I knew Dylan was using me as a tool, holding me captive, and exploiting our baby, he painted me on the largest canvas. The implied meaning I also wanted to reject, but the man still loved me, with all his desire for power and his madness to keep me." Unconsciously, I told Damian too much, as if forgetting that I also had to protect his feelings because he liked me too.
"There's no one in this world who doesn't have scars, Daniella. But being good or bad is a choice." Damian tried to remind me how evil Dylan is.
"I'm not going to ask you to stop falling in love with him. He is your husband now. However, his crimes need to be accounted for." Again, Damian reminded me that Dylan's intolerable crimes must be brought to justice in court.
"Right, oh my God. I shouldn't waver. My father died in his hands. Dylan initially asked me to have an abortion, taking advantage of me and my family; he was also a disobedient child. Oh God, I need to wake up. I must stay true to my original goal." I wiped my face. Damian's answer embarrassed me, and I almost made another foolish choice by forgiving Dylan.
"If Dylan has been tried, if his actions have been accounted for, if he's also willing to change his temperament, then Lily, your mother, and I will be at peace giving you to Dylan." Damian's words sounded so sad, but I knew Damian was a sincere man. He would be willing to give me back to Dylan as long as I'm happy.
"You can reconsider that, man, but for now, Dylan is truly a fugitive. It's not just his fault toward your family, but many small companies were cheated, exploited, and forcibly and illegally taken over," Damian continued.
"How did you know, Damian?" I asked, just realizing that Dylan had made so many mistakes.
"I'm collecting data and asking for a lot of support to put Dylan in jail. However, the police were indeed protecting him; they were bribed and not allowed to arrest Dylan and his gang. And so it is with Victor."
"Oh God, I didn't know you were trying to help me out there. Forgive me for my hesitation; I am now certain about punishing Dylan. If the police can't punish him, then I will punish him with my own two hands." I promise, not just to Damian, but to my late father and myself, that I will never waver again.
"I've already seen the data on Mr. Egan's men. There's one active number, which is the number of a man named Collin," said Damian.
"Really? Collin is one of my father's guards; he has a high status, and his martial arts skills are also high. We might be able to strengthen our defenses if he's willing to reorganize." I'm excited; what we need most are people who are good at self-defense, and Collin is a great start.
"We've already talked and set a meeting time to discuss everything," Damian said.
"When will you meet?" I asked.
"Tomorrow. I will also be making many visits to the home addresses listed in the data. I hope they're still there and willing to work with us again. For that, if you want, use these earphones to communicate with me again when I visit. You might want to know about my journey."
Damian was right, I'm so curious. I might wear it tomorrow if I get the chance. I hope many of my father's men can be brought back to work together.
After deciding what Damian would do tomorrow, and we agreed to stay connected through these earphones, our phone call was cut off.
It was three in the morning, and I went out to the balcony to check what was going on outside. I saw Dylan's car enter the yard. I hurried downstairs to see if Dylan had managed to bring my mother-in-law.
I ran a little, and when I got to the front of Dylan's car, I saw my mother-in-law getting out of the car with only Dylan's henchmen.
"Where's Dylan? Why did you come home alone, Mom?
