Chapter 247: Where Am I?

Chapter 247: Where Am I?
Kelly Anne's POV:

Did I know the voice? I had to have known the voice? I know who that is, but should I dare say? The last thing I wanted was for Shane to know who it was. I didn't want Shane to come after the man who was starting to mean so much to me. The man that I was starting to fall for. Should I even be thinking this thought right now? Should I even let these thoughts loose in my mind, knowing that Shane would somehow understand? The last thing I wanted was for Shane to hurt him. I didn't want Shane to hurt him or his men, as I was beginning to care for them as well.

"Meine Liebe, can you hear me?" I heard a deep, musky tone call out to me.

There was no doubt in my mind. I knew who this was. I knew who this voice belonged to. How could I have even remotely forgotten? Even with my eyes closed, I was disappointed in myself. How could I have been so foolish as to forget someone who meant so much to me? If it wasn't for him and his men, I wouldn't be here. Hell, I would probably be dead if it weren't for them.

"Meine Liebe, I'm right here, I am not going anywhere," I heard the deep and musky tone call out to me once more.

"Hello?" I called out tears welling in my eyes. "Can you hear me?"

I still only heard my words resound within the confines of my head. Why was I unable to speak out loud? Why could he not hear me speak in return? I wanted nothing more than to have him hear me right now. I wanted nothing more than to be rid of my atmosphere of the black shrouded cloud.

"You still think he's going to answer?" I heard Shane questioned me.

"How are you still here?" I called out to him this time.

I could tell that when I asked this, my lips didn't move, but I knew without a doubt that Shane heard me. I can hear his response, his voice resonating in my mind. Why did it have to be him? Why did I have to let Shane taunt me like this? Could it be anyone else?

"It's pathetic that you actually think you're going to get rid of me? Well, think again..." Shane said this time, and even though his words were powerful and intense, somehow they seemed as if they were far off and distant. "I got you once, I will get you again! You can definitely count on that."

"You are not reliable," I said within my mind, completely unaware as to where that particular thought came from. "You are anything but reliable."

Hell, I knew Shane wasn't reliable. I was more than willing to bet that he even knew that he was not reliable. However, I would never say anything like that, especially not to him. How was it that I came up with that idea in the first place to even remotely say something like that out loud in my head?

"I will get you when you least expect it," Shane taunted as his voice was but merely a whisper at this point.

"Meine Liebe, I am right here," I heard that deep musky tone say to me, and this time when I heard those words speak, it was as if I was right beside them.

Where my at? How did I get here? I thought to myself. I just want all this to end. I didn't want to be tortured anymore. I didn't want to have to deal with any more of this chaotic nonsense. What was it that I knew that Shane wanted to torment me? Why did he even care?

As far as I knew, I meant nothing to Shane. He made that perfectly clear when we lived together. He would have random women drop him off in front of the house at various times. He would even flaunt them, walking up to these particular women while we were in public, on the chance we went together.

That's why I made sure to stay so busy with work. The last thing I wanted to do was to be seen alive with him. I didn't want to be caught dead knowing that I was already stuck with him. I married him, and I was doing my best to take it back, if that were even possible. That's why I filed for divorce.

The last thing I expected was for that situation to go so..., well, so poorly! How was I to know that someone else was there the day I went to file? If it weren't for them seeing me, then I never would have met the man who saved me from myself. He saved me from everything that I knew. He even saved me from Shane himself.

As far as everyone who knew me knew that Shane and I were married. Well, we were married on paper, but I don't feel we had a proper marital bed. He would screw anything with two legs if he had the choice. Hell, he would prove that to me most nights. He didn't even care to consummate our marriage on the wedding night. He was too drunk. Did he not want to marry me either?

"Meine Liebe, can you hear me?" I heard the voice say, and then at that moment, when they spoke, it was as if the words were whispered right into my ear itself.

It's like with each time I hear this particular voice, they seem to get closer and closer, and their voice more and more powerful. How was it that with each time they spoke, their voice intensified? Where am I? Was I somewhere next to them in order for them to be this close to me? What was the last thing I remembered before I found myself here in this black shrouded cloud? In fact, how much time has passed since I was awake?

"Hello?" I called out once again. "Can you hear me?"

Still, no one responded. What's wrong with me? Why can't he hear me? Who do you have to be in order to fall for something like this? Was I even here right now? Or was this all just some random trick that got me caught up in my head? I wanted to know why I can't be stronger to wake myself up out of my own head?

"Please," I thought I would try to whisper this time. "Please..."

"Meine Liebe, I'm right here," I heard the voice call out to me again, and this time, I felt a warm sensation on one side of my body. Does that mean I am finally starting to wake up? Will I wake up and they are somehow right there beside me? "I can hear you, Meine Liebe! I want you to know I'm not going anywhere. I will never leave you. You are the love of my life. Nothing will ever change that. I want you to know that. Nothing will ever change how I feel about you."
