Chapter 94 - The Unforgiving Luna
"Who lied to you?" I said and he chuckled, entering inside.
"Last time I checked, you were told not to move about" Logan pointed.
"I'm fine now" Raiden said and I glanced at him.
"What happened to you?"
"He was poisoned" Amelia answered.
"It's what you get for betraying Kieran" My eyes dulled when I remembered the video of him stabbing Kieran. It still hurt to think about it.
"I never betrayed him. I helped him Instead. I don't deserve that look you're giving me"
I glanced at Logan and he nodded at me in confirmation. My guess was right then. It was all part of Raiden's plan. Still...
I noticed how Logan and Amelia exchanged glances and then stood to leave with an excuse and a quick peg to my cheeks.
My eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Those two. What's going on?" I asked Raiden who sat next to me.
"What do you think?" He smirked and I gasped.
"There's no way they're dating!"
"Why not?" He raised a brow and I really couldn't find an answer to that.
I sighed, lifting my eyes to look at Raiden.
"Are you okay?"
"Is that worry I see in your eyes?" Raiden chuckled and I hit him.
"Can you be serious for once?"
"Okay, I'm serious now. I'm fine. The poison was not a big deal"
"Then why did you attack Kieran?"
"Long story"
"Cut it short"
Raiden sighed. I could see didn't want to talk about it.
"I thought you wanted to know about Grayson" he changed the topic and I let him.
"Is he dead?" I asked the one question that I had been on my mind.
"What do you think?" Raiden cocked a brow.
"On one hand, I wish he was dead but on the other hand, it feels so unsatisfying to know that I didn't witness it"
Raiden nodded "I understand" his eyes stared off in the distance and I wondered what he was thinking about so seriously.
"Hazel, what if... what if Grayson got down on his knees and apologized for everything he had done to you and your family. Would you let him leave?"
My eyes narrowed at that "Apologize? No amount of apology will erase everything, Raiden. I, Freya Jameson will never forgive a monster like him. I hope he rots in hell. I hope he got the worst death ever possible. I--"
"He's not dead" Raiden interrupted and my mouth hung wide open in shock.
"What do you mean?" I blinked.
"Kieran kept him alive. He wants to know what you want to do with him."
A little agitated from earlier, I gulped and tried to calm down.
Grayson is still alive.
The bastard was still breathing.
"Take me to him." I ordered and Raiden shook his head.
"I'm not sure that's a good idea"
"Take me to him this instance, Raiden!!!" I said "Or I'll find him myself"
Raiden sighed in frustration "this is why no one wanted to tell you"
"And this is exactly the reaction you wanted from me, Raiden. I know of all your sly ways"
I pointed out and Raiden pursed his lips. He didn't expect I'd know.
"Fine. You got me" he stood with me, supporting me a bit since I still felt a bit weak.
"I was serious when I said it wasn't a good idea"
I turned my head to look at him. He was serious but I couldn't change my mind.
Grayson had caused too much harm to me. So much that it brings me joy when I thought of torturing him myself.
Raiden led me into the dungeon. The guards allowed us to pass when they saw him.
I had never been to this part of the dungeon. It was deeper darker and quieter.
Too quiet that i could hear even a pin drop. There was something about the quietness that was already messing with my head.
"This is actually a torture chamber" Raiden said "Traitors are usually questioned here or people who do anything to cause harm for the country"
"There is no one in here"
"They're all dead" Raiden said.
I stared inside the cells as we passed until we finally got to one.
Grayson.
My eyes stopped on the figure inside the cell. His hair flew everywhere like a mad man and his skin... It was so dirty.
"Hello, Hazel" he greeted with that insane smile of his that had seemed to get worse "Or should I start calling you Freya now"
"It's sad seeing how you can still talk"
"I thought you died. How come it's so hard to kill you?"
"Why haven't you killed yourself first?"
"I was waiting for you" he said and stood up, coming closer to the iron bars of the cell and there, I could see him properly. He was a mess and if I hadn't known him, I wouldn't believe he was the first Prince I had met with Melody that day.
"You came"
"You were waiting for me? Why?"
Grayson closed his eyes, letting out a breath as he grinned.
When he opened his eyes again, he was staring straight at me "So you can kill me"
"What?" It seemed as if I hadn't heard him correctly.
"Kill me, Hazel. It's the only way you'll find peace. Kill me or you'll regret it for the rest of your life"
What's that supposed to mean?
"You think I cannot kill you? Is that why you're asking me?" I stepped forward, feeling the rage I was trying to keep at bay bubble inside me and threatening to burst as I got closer to him.
Raiden blocked my way immediately, his eyes widening "What do you think you're doing, Hazel. Don't fall for his trick"
"Let me go" I struggled but Raiden only tried to push me away.
"If he manages to lay his hands on you, he'll kill you. He's more Insane than you imagined"
I stopped, my breathing ragged as I looked at Grayson to find him smiling as if pleased with himself.
"What ? You're afraid of a powerless person locked inside this cage while you're out there. Don't tell me" he chuckled in mockery.
"I'm not afraid of you" I said back "You're going to die a horrible death, Grayson"
"I can't wait" he chuckled "Death.... It's better than being stuck in here. Don't you want to know how your parents died while you were asleep? I saw your Mom beg on her knees as Ezra took her life quite slowly and your father, he fought hard but can he truly be a match for Ezra? They were all trying so hard to protect you but you," he laughed crazily "You were asleep without knowing anything"
"Shut the f*ck up Grayson!!" Raiden screamed at him.
I let my hands drop to my side, my whole body trembled as I took a step back and tears filled my eyes.
Because he was right.
While all those things were happening I was... I was sleeping. Without a care.
I didn't know anything. I couldn't even do anything!
"Don't listen to him, Hazel. None of it was ever your fault"
Right. It was never my fault. I didn't ask to possess the f-ucking pure blood. I didn't ask for my family to die.
"Hazel" Raiden called me and I jumped in shock, my eyes meeting Grayson's red eyes and grin.
I imagined killing him in my head. I imagined stabbing him countless times. His blood as paint on the wall.
I wondered how warm his blood would feel on my hands. That was how sick he made me.
I tried to breath and put all of my emotions aside so I could think properly.
"What does Kieran plan to do with him?" I asked Raiden.
"He wants you to decide. That's why Grayson is being like this. He wants a quick death from you"
"So he doesn't have to suffer in Kieran's hands" I completed, now getting the whole point.
Heh.
In as much as I would have loved to kill him myself, I wouldn't want my unborn child to witness this.
I rubbed my belly when I thought about this.
I took a step closer to Grayson but not close enough for him to reach me.
"You want death? You'll get it... very slowly" my lips stretched into a grin that reached my eyes "Kieran would take care of you quiet well"
"No" panic reflected through his eyes when I said that and he grabbed the rails tight, his eyes widening "Just kill me now. Don't hand me over to that monster"
"Really? You're so afraid of Kieran" I smiled "If you want a quick death, then you should beg for it"
His eyes widened.
"What are you waiting for? Get on your knees."
Grayson remained still for a while. It was strange how he suddenly felt scared of Kieran. It seemed as if something had happened that would make him be so afraid.
I watched with a smile as Grayson dropped on one knee and then the other. "Kill me, please" he begged.
I stepped away when I noticed he was closer when he knelt.
Nice try. If I had managed to grab me and something happened, I bet he wouldn't care about whatever Kieran would do to him.
"Are you satisfied?" He looked up at me and slowly, I shook my head.
"No. And it's a shame since I never intended to kill you myself. Kieran would do a better job and knowing that alone, is enough"
"No" he panicked "You promised"
"When? Did anybody hear it?"
It was as if it suddenly dawned on him and I chuckled, feeling good.
"Have a good day, Grayson" I said and Raiden led me out after secretly taking a relieved sigh.
"You made the right choice, Hazel"
"Did I?" I rubbed my belly and smiled "I'm going to try and forget about everything. Everything that happened"
"I'm glad you're thinking like this. It's the only way you'll be able to move on"
I smiled and squeezed his hands as he carried me back to my room where I waited for Kieran.
....
Third Person's Pov.
From the very top floor, Kieran stared down at Hazel as she passed with Raiden. Someone came behind him just then and he raised his hand so he could speak.
"She didn't kill him" the person reported and Kieran's eyes narrowed dangerously "She said she's going to leave him to you. Grayson begged her"
There was utter silence as Kieran just stared ahead. His eyes darkened with every second that passed and then, very soon his lips stretched into a smile as he whispered to himself.
"That's my girl"
.....
Hazel's Pov.
Once again, I was all alone. I stared up at the high ceilings, thinking about everything while rubbing my belly.
Kieran took his time. He arrived after a few hours and apologized for staying long.
"It's okay" I smiled at him and sat up.
"I know that you're hungry. We'll go get something in a bit"
"Ah..." I sighed in relief. I was just about to say that to him.
"How did the meeting go?" I asked, standing up as Kieran pulled me into his embrace.
"The coronation ceremony will be done next week"
I smiled and scratched his back "Congratulations, Darling"
"Darling?" Kieran pulled away and lifted my chin so I could look at him.
"Mmhmm... My Darling. Is there something wrong?"
"Nothing" Kieran held his chest "My heart started a race just now"
I chuckled and hit him gently.
"Can you say it again?"
"My Darling" I repeated and Kieran's smile grew wider as he held his chest.
"Ahh... It's beating even faster now. I might die at this rate"
"I should stop then" I teased.
"No. I'll gladly die a thousand times if that's what it takes to feel like this"
"Since when did you become so sweet tongued huh?"
He laughed and held my hands "Come with me. I have something to show you"
"What is it?" I was curious.
"We'll see."
He was being secretive about it which gave me some kind of excitement I couldn't explain.
We climbed the stairs and I knew where we heading to when we took a corner and climbed another set of stairs.
We arrived at the terrace. Just when, Kieran pulled the door open, I stopped.
My eyes took in everything before I could even go inside. The floor was lined up with flower petals and balloons. It was decorated so beautifully that a gasp escaped me as I finally stepped in.
I didn't know where Kieran got a rose from but he was suddenly handing one to me.
A beautiful red rose.
I brought it to my nose. It smelled very nice.
"Thank you" I said, still trying to process everything as I looking around me.
At a corner, where the rose petals led to, was a table filled with wine and different dishes.
I smiled sweetly as I approached it with Kieran but a gasp escaped me when my eyes caught the opened box that was lying there.
A ring was in it, featuring a stunning diamond that gleamed even in the light.
"Kieran..." I breathed and he came in front of me. Taking the box and going down on one knee.
"Freya Jameson. Do you accept to be my wife, the mother of my unborn pups, my Luna, my queen... and my life?"
I couldn't help the tears that rolled down my cheeks as I stretched out my fingers to him.
"Yes, fu-cking yes Kieran!!"
His lips stretched into a smile that reached his eyes as he slipped the ring in and brought my fingers to be his lips.
As the ring rested on my finger, it radiated a sense of warmth and comfort as if reminding me of the bond we shared.
"I love you, Hazel" he said just after calling me Freya moments ago. I knew the name already stuck.
"I love you more. More than you can even imagine"
I hugged him as tight as I could. I didn't want to ever let go. I could remain here forever. Right here on his chest.
My stomach grumbled just then and we pulled away from each other.
"Let's eat" He told me, pulling out a seat for me.
"When did you find the time to set up all these?"
"Just now" he answered "Well, Amelia and the others helped too"
Wait... was that what they were so secretive about earlier? And I had thought they were dating.
Raiden must have known about it too but he didn't even let a hint drop. That sly being. He actually played along with me to Amelia and Logan dating.
I couldn't wait to make him pay for that.
"Thank you" I said to Kieran as we entwined our fingers together and very soon, we started to eat.
I sighed, rubbing my stomach as I had eaten a bit much. The action made me almost fall from my seat but Kieran was there to grab me on time just before I fell over my chair.
"Aha. Why are you so sweet?" I held his face. "So fu-cking damn sweet."
"Would you like to have a taste of something sweeter?" He whispered, a sly look in his eyes and I quickly pushed him away.
He didn't go back. He carried me in his arms. I couldn't tell how long it took but we were in his room now.
I reached up to him and kissed him hard. As hard as I wanted, glad that I was in control this time but Kieran was quick to catch the reigns again as he dominated my mouth and lips so easily.
He left me breathless but what could I do? I couldn't breathe when he was this close to me, when his lips are on mine and when his hands are touching me In just the right places.
Everywhere that craved for him.
