Chapter 93 - The Unforgiving Luna

Hazel's Pov.

The darkness lasted for a very long time. It felt like eternity as I continued to wander about until finally, I saw a glow.

It seemed so close yet so far away the more I approached it.

The more steps I took forward, the more the world around me brightened and then very soon, my eyes closed.

I was pulled into a very long long dream.

I saw Mom and Dad and Ryan... and me. We were all seated round a table.

Mom came behind me and placed a cake in front of me. I turned my head to look at her and she gave me the sweetest smile ever. Just like I remembered it.

I felt my heart melt and a drop of tears rolled down my cheeks as I held her hands.

"M-mom..."

She patted my hair with her other hand the way she usually would when she was trying to encourage me.

"Happy birthday my sweet child"

"Happy birthday, Freya" Dad said next and I looked at him with a smile. The happiness on each person's face could not be faked.

"My daughter is all grown up. Isn't it worth celebrating?"

"Let's celebrate when the goddess blesses her with a mate. A fine Alpha"

"It doesn't have to be an Alpha" Dad interjected "It could be anyone as long as he makes her happy"

"Heh" Ryan scoffed "I'm your son too. Don't you have any kind words for me?" He raised a brow, as if waiting to hear something really nice.

Dad glanced at him and shook his head "I doubt there will be anyone who would be willing to be with you"

"Of course there will" Mom was quick to come to his defense. She took off her apron and sat with us "Ryan can find a nice girl too. A princess maybe?"

"No Princess will want a lazy man like him. Right, Freya?" Dad dragged me in and I nodded severally in agreement. Somewhat in a trance as my eyes darted between all of them.

"That's mean, Dad." Ryan glared.

"Don't take it to heart dear. Your Dad is known to be too truthful sometimes. He should learn to control himself"

"From saying the truth? No" Dad said and I burst out laughing when I heard that. I couldn't control myself.

Ryan stared at Mom with his mouth open and scoffed "Just when I thought I had someone on my side. Not you too, Mom. I know I can be lazy sometimes but have you ever wondered if I'm only choosing not to show you all that I'm capable of?"

"I'm afraid I might sell you off once you decide to show us" Dad said.

I bit the insides of my lips to stop myself from laughing again as I stared at Ryan who was getting a bash from Dad.

"Fine. I'll show you"

Mom, Dad and I exchanged glances and we hummed with a nod, a knowing look passing across our faces as we acted like we agreed with him.

It was like the millionth time he was saying that.

Ryan saw all of it though. He acted like he was furious and pulled my cake to his front. He blew out the candles and before I could react, he put a knife through the cake and cut a slice for himself.

He held my eyes with no fear after stealing my cake "It's the price for joining in on the fun with Mom and Dad"

"Give it back!!" I ordered sternly, trying to put some authority into my voice as the older one but alas, Mom and Dad burst out laughing at me.

"Sorry sweetheart" Mom apologized for laughing but she couldn't stop "You just looked too cute"

Liar. Looking cute wouldn't make her laugh this hard.

I took a moment to stare at Mom and Dad's faces. Their smiles were so bright and their laughter was filled with joy.

It sent warmth through every part of my heart. Even though I knew all of this was not real.

It was all a dream but at least it was a beautiful one.

One I didn't wish to wake up from. One I wished I could continue to live in but it ended so quick.

I opened my eyes once again, to the real world but my heart felt so different. It felt so light as if....

As if something heavy had been lifted off it.

The sunlight that streamed inside made me squint my eyes as I sat up. It was surprisingly hard to carry myself.

I looked around me.

I was in a well furnished luxurious and spacious room. I remembered this one very well as it belonged to Kieran. We were still at the palace.

Then what happened? Was Kieran okay?

I remembered seeing Grayson pointing a gun at Kieran. Did he fail?

There's no way he succeeded right?

The worry ate through me and I tried to stand only to feel sharp pain tear through my back.

I gasped in shock as I fell back and landed on my butts.

"Hazel? You there?" a panicked yet pleasantly surprised voice called out and I looked towards the door only to find no one.

It was a mindlink.

"Kieran..." I breathed out in relief "You're fine. Grayson didn't get to..."

"Shh... I'm coming to you. Just stay there"

A smile broke out on my face and I nodded then replied "Yes" when I realized he couldn't see me.

"Good girl"

It took only a few seconds. The door burst open, scaring me a bit as I looked towards it.

Kieran was standing there, panting.

He was breathing heavily as he approached me and I wondered how much he had ran.

"My love" he knelt in front of me, cleaning the tears that rolled down my cheeks.

I don't usually cry this easily but everything.... I've never felt this way before.

So afraid of losing someone, of not getting to see that person for the rest of my life. I have never been so relieved to see a person looking just fine.

Kieran wrapped me gently in his embrace and I snuggled into his chest. Cleaning my tears and snot on his shirt.

"I'm so glad you're awake" he held me tighter in his arms.

"How long have I been passed out?"

"A week" Kieran answered and I pulled away from him, shocked.

"How? Why?" I couldn't help asking. It only felt like hours but I was passed out for a week?

Why?

"Do you not remember?" Kieran asked and I shook my head, wondering what he was talking about.

"I don't"

"It's okay. You don't have to think about it. You should rest some more while I get the doctor" he tried to leave but I stopped him.

"What happened? After Grayson tried to--"

"Shhh... Let's not talk about that" he said "I have something better to tell you"

"What is it?" I decided to let it go. If he was trying to hide something then it must be for a reason.

"Are you sure you're ready to hear this?"

I nodded and Kieran stood up, a bright smile covering his face and leaving me awe.

I had never seen him smile like that. It looked so different, so happy.

I wondered what could get him so excited. Is it because I woke up?

It didn't take long for the doctor to arrive. She was an unfamiliar face. Quite young and beautiful too.

Amelia also accompanied her and she made me lie down as she examined me.

"How are you feeling, Hazel?"

"Not too good. I feel groggy" I answered and it was strange when she smiled and Amelia too as if they knew something I didn't.

"What's the matter?" I couldn't help asking.

"Well, that's understandable." She said "Your injury is almost healed now so in a day or two, I'm sure you'll feel almost normal"

"Injury?" I couldn't help but ask her and she nodded.

"You were shot. Don't you remember?" Amelia told me and I looked up to meet Kieran's eyes. He was leaning against the wall and not saying anything.

"I-I was shot?" I repeated and there, I closed my eyes and the memories started to come to me.

I was hugging Kieran at the hallway. Grayson pointed a gun behind him and I was the only one who could see him.

I remembered hearing the shot. It sounded very loud and rang violently in my eyes but I still managed to turn us around and the bullet met me instead.

I opened my eyes with a slight gasp.

Was that why....?

Kieran looked away from me.

"You were lucky since it only grazed your back but the bullet contained Silver which caused more damages than it should"

"There's something else though" Amelia said but Kieran cleared his throat and she stopped to look at him.

"I guess Kieran will tell you himself"

"Since you're fine, I'll be leaving. Phewww..." The doctor looked as if a burden had just been lifted off her back and I raised my brow in question.

Amelia whispered to me "Kieran gave her a lot of trouble when you wouldn't wake up after days. She is the fifth doctor who came to treat you and he threatened to make them lose their jobs if they failed to bring you back"

I was surprised at that but I also smiled.

That was unreasonable and maybe weird that I find it sweet.

"I'll leave you two. I'm glad you're back Hazel" Amelia gave me a hug and I smiled at her, watching her leave.

Now, it was just I and Kieran.

"Are you satisfied after having me checked?" I asked him.

"I was very worried" he sat next to me and took my hands in his, kissing them tenderly "I missed you"

"What part of me do you miss?"

"All of you, Hazel" he smiled "I missed having you in my arms and I missed those eyes when they look at me like that"

"How do I look at you?"

"Like you want me too"

"I have always wanted you. My heart, body and soul... needs you"

"I'm glad to know that" he whispered, kissing the back of my hands again. "I thought I was the only one going crazy"

He helped me sit up.

"Can you never do what you did that day?"

I knew what he was talking about and I smiled.

"Protecting you from Grayson? Sorry, but I will do it again"

"Hazel?" he called "You could've died if the bullet went through you"

"And I would've lost you if I hadn't done anything. See? We're both fine right?"

"You don't get it?" He held my eyes and there was this look in his that made my heart start to beat faster "You're my life. I love you more than the world. More than anything I can think of. I just cannot bear the thought of losing--"

"Shh..." I placed a finger on his lips to stop him from talking.

"Kiss me, Kieran" I whispered and his eyes lowered to my lips as they parted.

I could feel his warmth as he got closer, our breaths collided melding into one as his lips grazed mine.

"What if I cannot control myself? Hm?" He pushed a strand of hair off my face "I want to take you right here, Hazel and have you scream my name till your voice turn hoarse. I want to feel my co.ck buried deep inside your warm folds or my mouth sucking your juices till there's no more. I want all of you like that"

I shivered when I thought about him doing all of those things to me, my core tightened with need and my breathing quickly turned ragged as I looked at him. "What's stopping you? I want you just as much as you want me"

"Are you sure?" He asked and my answer was all that he needed to crash his lips on mine.

He tasted better than I remembered. He deepened the kiss, pulling me closer to himself, to his warmth.

I moaned into his mouth, trying to meet his pace and also struggling to breath.

He said something to me but my mind was too clouded to hear it as he claimed my lips once again.

"What did you say?" I managed to ask and he repeated his words.

"You're pregnant, Hazel"

"I am?" For a moment, it didn't click until we pulled away to breath and I remembered what he said.

"W-what did you just say?!"

"You're pregnant" he repeated and my eyes widened.

"The doctor confirmed it after you fainted" he stared down at my belly "You have my pups in there, My love"

I couldn't believe it. Everything made sense now.

Was this what he said he was going to tell me? Why he was so happy and why he was reluctant to kiss me at first?

"Oh my goodness?" I stared at my belly in shock. I couldn't feel anything different but there was this emotion that washed over me.

"We're going to have a baby?" I asked as if just to be sure. Kieran nodded and kissed me.

"Yes My love. We're going to have one"

I kissed him back, this time harder than we had done before. Kieran didn't hold back.

He kissed down my neck and I moaned, aching my back to him as he breathed fire over my skin.

His hands sneaked inside my clothes, grabbing one of my breast and kneading them in his palm.

A moan escaped me and I held him tighter.

Kieran parted my legs and got in between my thighs as he claimed my lips once again but a knock came on the door just then, making us both pause.

"Ignore it" he told me and almost immediately, it came again, harder.

Kieran glared at the door. A frustrated sigh leaving him as he climbed off me.

"Come in"

Williams entered with a knowing evil smile. He still had a patch on his head.

"Do you have a death wish?" Kieran glared and Williams scratched his head.

"Erhmm... I'm sorry. But it is important" he said then looked at me "I'm so glad you're awake, Luna"

"I'm happy to see you fine, Williams" I smiled back.

"What is it?" Kieran asked him.

"Some of the executives are here. They said they cannot wait any longer. You have to come to a decision"

"What is that?" I asked, curiously.

"It's about the throne. Kieran wasn't able to do anything when you were away. He couldn't even eat"

Kieran glared at him when he said that and Williams shrugged "I'm not lying"

"You should go" I told Kieran "You have responsibilities now so go attend to them"

"You're going to drive me away after a few words from this person?" he pointed at Williams and I chuckled.

"I'm not sending you away. I'm just allowing you to do much more greater things"

"You're greater than every other thing that exists, Hazel. You have to know that" he told me "So what were you saying again?"

Williams coughed, letting us know of his presence and Kieran released a frustrated sigh.

"Fine. I'll get Amelia for you"

Kieran left and it didn't take long for Amelia to come in, together with someone else. Logan.

I learned everything that happened when I was passed out from them. And of course they didn't forget to exaggerate how frightened Kieran was when I was shot.

Ava was in a critical condition. Barely breathing. The doctors aren't certain she would make it. Kieran let Ethan escape with the Queen for reasons known to him alone when the queen should be receiving her punishment.

Larissa was sent back to her parents.

"How about Grayson? Why haven't you mentioned anything about him?" I noticed how much they were avoiding that question.

What happened to him? I hoped he was dead and his body was thrown out to wild animals to devour!

"About Grayson..." Logan started but he seemed hesitant, making me frown.

"How about I answer that for you?"

I looked up to see who spoke and there, right at the door was Raiden.

I was pleasantly surprised to see him. Ever since that day we were both kidnapped, we hadn't crossed paths.

"Raiden?!" I called out.

"Hello, Hazel. I heard you missed me"
