Chapter 177: That Kind of Person (Part 2)

Chapter 177: That Kind of Person (Part 2)
For the sake of Sophia and Ethan, Alison had to give in.
“Speak,” she urged Aimée after sitting down.

Aimée said lightly. “It’s simple. I want you to attend my wedding.” Truthfully, she felt quite uneasy. To secure the marriage, she had even enlisted the Polar Bear Alliance to threaten Alison, forcing her to obey for her children’s sake.

“Fine.” Alison agreed, but her resolve was already wavering. She no longer wanted Jack to marry Aimée – such a poisonous woman.

“And make Jack marry me wholeheartedly,” Aimée pressed on.

“Fine.” Alison agreed.

“Huh, you agreed so readily. I’m surprised. Tell me, do you truly dislike him?” Aimée leaned forward, gazing at Alison. “Why don’t you hesitate? It’s strange.”

Alison laughed. “Aimée, is there anything else? If not, I should go.”

Sitting across from Aimée was pure torture for her. .

“Sit down. I’m not finished yet.” Aimée’s grating voice rang out.

Alison forced herself to meet Aimée with composure.

“Go find Aidan and convince him to come to my wedding with you,” Aimée said with a sly smile, revealing her true intentions.

“You… this is too much!” She hadn’t expected Aimée to be so shameless, demanding they stage a show together.

“What? Don’t you want to do it?” Aimée folded her arms, waiting for her response.

“Aimée, even if I’m willing, Aidan might not be. He doesn’t feel anything for me anymore.”

“Nonsense. He likes you – anyone can see that. If you invite him, he’ll be thrilled to come to my wedding with you.” Aimée lifted Alison’s chin with her finger and glared at her. “I just don’t get it. What’s so great about you that two Winston family men both like you? But you’d better give up that fantasy. Jack will never marry you. Never!”

“Aimée, you asked me to come to your wedding. Otherwise, I never wanted to see Jack again, and I never intended to marry him.” Alison emphasized her stance, hoping to lower Aimée’s guard.

“Alison, I know you’re the one leaving this time. That’s why I dared to ask you to make Jack give up. Some plays only make sense when they’re acted out. When the time comes, you just need to follow me obediently.”

Alison thought, Impossible! I would stop this.

Aimée added, “I’ve prepared all your clothes. They’ll be delivered to your home.”

“Okay,” she replied, hoping to ease Aimée.

After returning home from Rebel, she was exhausted.

She longed to call Jack, but she knew she couldn’t.
She was still under Aimée’s eyes.
Until she escaped Aimée’s surveillance, she couldn’t do anything.

She didn’t know how Aimée had convinced Jack to marry her, but she knew he wouldn’t have agreed without a reason.

The meeting at the apartment had shown her that Jack still cared about her.
Yet, the incident at the hospital…

After seeing Aimée, she suddenly realized she had missed the truth that day: Jack had been lying weak in bed, and it was Aimée who had initiated the kiss.

Good heavens—I’d been blinded by jealousy.

She realized she had been wrong. She shouldn’t have dragged herself and Jack into this misery. He clearly wasn’t happy.

Jack, just hang in there for a few more days. Once I have settled the children, I will reveal Aimée’s true colours.
