Chapter 176: That Kind of Person (Part 1)
“Buddy, let’s talk this through. It’s just a woman. If she displeases you, Rebel won’t let her perform tomorrow.” The manager hurried over—clearly, things had escalated.
“Her singing skills… uh… so-so. Don’t let her perform at Rebel again. Such a slut—she should be good at sleeping with men. Haha.”
Alison felt nausea surge, nearly making her vomit. She hadn’t done anything to this man, yet his words were viciously cruel.
Struggling, Alison stepped forward. She had to expose the mastermind.
Her steps were light as she walked out. The moment she appeared before the crowd, the hall fell silent.
“Miss Bruce, you…” Liam stared at her; his astonishment told her she was finished.
She smiled and walked towards the man. “Sir, are you so desperate for women? Must you resort to wrecking events just to fill the void?”
Her words stunned the man, leaving him speechless.
Everyone gazed at her.
How dare she speak to the Second Master of the Polar Bear Alliance like that? Was she out of her mind?
“Shut up! Who said our boss lacks women? There are plenty of women waiting in line for him. Why are you so confident?”
“Wasn’t it about sleeping with men? Isn’t that what this gentleman just said?” Alison spoke coolly, yet she was terrified inside, but she knew that if she showed fear, these people would only become more arrogant.
Her words froze them on the spot.
They thought there must be someone backing her—otherwise she’d never dare.
“Tell me! Who gave you the nerve?” a man stormed up to Alison and demanded loudly.
Although they had the numbers on their side, Alison remained steady. Smiling, she walked towards the leader, casually picked up a bottle of liquor.
As she spun the bottle, she chuckled. “Alright, cut to the chase. What do you want from me? But I should warn you— all I know is how to sing. If you push me too hard, I’ll resist. I won’t be afraid.”
Then, she slammed the bottle down hard on the table.
Having intimidated them, she resolved to play along. Her psychology training had taught her how to deal with men like this.
A familiar female voice echoed, “Ha! Brilliant! Everyone, step back. I need to have a private chat with Miss Bruce.”
Alison snapped her head up, utterly stunned.
“Aimée, what are you doing?”
She truly hadn’t expected the Rolland heiress’s mafia ties.
Aimée glided over to the sofa in her high heels and sat down gracefully. The man beside her promptly handed her a cigar box. She took one, lit it, drew deeply, then blew a smoke ring at Alison. Then she gestured towards the opposite sofa. “Sit down.”
“How did you know I was here?”
“With the right intentions, you can find anything.” Aimée smiled and flicked ash from her cigar. Her smirk lingered in the falling ash.
“What exactly do you want with me?” Alison asked.
She still didn’t know Aimée’s purpose, but she felt Aimée was the mastermind behind the incident years ago. After all, she even knew about Rebel.
“Sit down,” Aimée added.
There was no point pretending anymore. Her spoiled brat was showing, her arrogance naked.
“Thanks, but no need.” Alison wanted to distance herself from Aimée.
“What’s the matter? Don’t you want to have a nice chat? Your house is awfully quiet these days. If you’d like, I can liven it up.” Aimée said with a smile, her fingers holding the cigar, swaying lightly. That innate cruelty told her the Rolland family truly had mafia ties.
Alison froze in shock.
Good heavens, Aimée knew where she lived!
It meant if she disobey her, the children would suffer.
Alison’s face turned pale. “What the hell do you want?”
“Sit down, please,” Aimée demanded, her gaze intense.
