Chapter 57 Move

Chapter 57 Move

Important company documents were being leaked online one by one.

Killian pressed his tongue against his molars, his eyes fixed resolutely on the flickering computer screen.

There was one last option since he couldn't trace the hacker's IP address.

On the other side, Lila was humming a tune, leisurely destroying the company Killian had painstakingly built.

Suddenly, the webcam light flashed green.

Lila slammed her laptop shut as fast as she could, but she was a second too late.

Killian's handsome face flashed across her screen.

At the same time, her image appeared on his screen.

Killian?

The person she had been battling was Killian?

He was pretty good at it.

But that wasn't the point.

The point was that her first major failure as a hacker had come so unexpectedly, and the person who caught her was Killian. Lila was losing it!

"Jason, quick, take the laptop! No, wait, Killian is here at Nightfall! Forget the laptop, get me some men, now!"

Her memory was sharp.

In those brief two seconds, she noticed that the background behind Killian matched the decor around her.

If Killian weren't an idiot, he'd realize she was at Nightfall too.

It was only a matter of time before he found her.

She had just caused the Hart Family's stock to drop by nearly three billion dollars with a few keystrokes.

Three billion dollars was a significant figure.

If he caught her red-handed, she would be in serious trouble.

Lila's heart raced, but Jason seemed clueless.

"Are you serious? Instead of running, you want me to get you some men? Are you giving up because you got tracked for the first time? Lila, you'll always be the best in my eyes. Let's not get down. Come with me, and we'll rise again tomorrow!"

Jason yanked open the curtains, ready to jump out the window.

But after a glance, he cursed and pulled the curtains shut again.

"Damn it, the place is swarming with bodyguards! What do we do? Are we going to die here today?"

"If you don't want to die, get me some men, now! No time to waste, go!"

"Got it, dying in a handsome man's arms isn't the worst way to go. I'm on it!"

Jason rushed out without a moment's hesitation.

In less than eight minutes, a group of men surrounded Lila's private room.

The lead man reported sternly, "Mr. Hart, this is the last room."

"Open the door!"

"Yes, sir!"

The door was flung open, and Killian's temple throbbed at the sight.

On the black sofa, a woman in a white dress had the hem nearly up to her thighs.

One foot was on the sofa, the other on the floor.

Her hands were busy—one pouring drinks, the other playing with a man.

"Hey, your hands are so pretty."

"And you, what a great body. Are those abs? Can I touch them?"

"Of course, baby."

The man with the great body lifted his shirt willingly.

Besides these two, a group of attractive young men surrounded her.

Killian counted silently.

Lila was really something.

On the day they got their marriage license, she came to Nightfall to play with men, and not just one, but seven!

These handsome, seductive men were all hired by Lila.

True to her thrifty nature, she made the most of her money.

Just as her right hand was about to touch the man's abs, a hand appeared out of nowhere and grabbed her wrist.

With a slightly tipsy face, she looked up slowly.

Her gaze met Killian's cold, stern face.

She licked her lips and leaned closer to Killian, feigning confusion.

"Wow, you're so handsome. Are you the top guy here?"

She stood on tiptoe, cupping his face with her left hand. "Your skin is so nice. Can I kiss you?"

She puckered her lips and moved towards his flawless cheek.

Killian had never met a woman so reckless.

On the day they got their marriage license, she came here to find men, and now she mistook him for a gigolo?

And she wanted to kiss him?

"Lila! Do you have a death wish?"

With a slight force, Killian threw Lila back onto the sofa.

Lila curled up pitifully.

Her enticing lips trembled as she began to cry.

"You're pushing me? You men are all jerks! Especially you, just like Killian, a total jerk!"

Killian's expression darkened.

"You're drunk!"

He leaned down, his eyes warning as he stared at her.

Unexpectedly, Lila slapped him.

The sound made Charles, standing nearby, almost have a heart attack.

He accidentally saw Killian get slapped.

Feeling the immediate threat of death, Charles quickly turned away.

He pretended to be deaf and blind, an invalid.

Charles's action set off a chain reaction.

All the tough guys turned away, obediently facing the wall.

In the eye of the storm, Killian touched the spot where he was slapped, a smirk playing on his lips. "Do you know what you just did, hmm?"

Lila wobbled as she tried to stand.

"Sorry, did I hurt you? Let me help you with that."

Despite her inner panic, Lila's face and actions were convincingly innocent.

She put her hand on his face.

The unfamiliar sensation made Killian want to push her away, but she hugged him tightly.

"Why does everyone hate me? My dad wants to get rid of me, and Killian, too. He promised to marry me, but as soon as another woman showed up, he left me at the city center. I waited for him in the parking lot for so long, but he never came back. Am I being abandoned again?"
