Chapter 50 Arrogant

Chapter 50 Arrogant

Eirlys felt like thunder was roaring in her ears, her heart quickly filling with shock and sorrow.

"Why?"

"I don't need to explain to you. I'll be discussing the next steps with the Kynance family."

Seeing Eirlys return to her senses, Killian politely bid her farewell and strode away with determined steps, disappearing down the hallway without a moment's hesitation.

The next second, Eirlys lost her balance and collapsed to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

"How could this happen? Today was supposed to be the day Killian and I got our marriage license. Why doesn't he want me anymore?"

Seraphina's heart ached at the sound of Eirly's cries. She knelt and hugged Eirlys.

"Mom, is it because of my face? Or was it because I embarrassed him by stripping in front of the City Hall? I didn't want to do that either. If it weren't for Lila, I wouldn't have ended up like this. If it weren't for Lila, I wouldn't have been abandoned. Mom, what should I do?"

"Stop crying, Eirlys. I can tell that Killian cares about you. Don't overthink things for the next few days. Focus on taking care of yourself, especially your face. It's not just Killian; even I..."

"Mom!" Eirlys cried even harder.

"Dry your tears. In a wealthy family, you have to rely on yourself for everything. Crying won't solve anything."

Seraphina wiped Eirlys's tears with her thumb.

"But my face is so scarred and ugly now. By the time I recover, Lila might have already climbed into Killian's bed!"

"She won't get the chance!"

"What do you mean?"

Eirlys immediately stopped crying.

"You'll find out soon enough."

A sinister smile flashed across Seraphina's face.

After the commotion ended, Lila felt pleased, but Killian's expression remained as grim as ever.

On the way back, the atmosphere in the car was tense. Just as Lila was about to doze off, she heard a deep voice.

"Where did you learn your medical skills?"

Lila instantly became alert, carefully responding.

Was he starting to test her?

"At school. I graduated from a legitimate medical university, but I didn't go to grad school because of some personal issues."

Lila wasn't lying. She hadn't gone to grad school; she had been directly admitted to a doctoral program.

"There's a party tomorrow night. You're coming with me. After all, you're legally Mrs. Hart now."

Lila thought about the unpleasant experiences at previous parties and instinctively shook her head, but the domineering Killian ignored her.

"Didn't you want to marry into the Hart family? You should attend these events."

Lila frowned but didn't refuse.

She remained silent, making the atmosphere awkward.

Despite their past intimacy, there was only silence now.

As Lila was about to leave, Killian approached her step by step.

"What... what are you doing?"

Killian gave a dangerous smile. "You were so eager to marry me. I'm just fulfilling my duties as a husband."

Lila frowned, trying to think of a way to escape, but Killian couldn't hold back any longer.

He pulled her into his arms, his Adam's apple bobbing as his right hand slid between her legs, his voice filled with desire.

He held the back of Lila's head with his left hand, his fingers threading through her silky hair, and nuzzled her cheek.

Lila turned her head to avoid him, but Killian found her lips and kissed her.

Killian closed his eyes, lost in the softness of her lips.

He had intended to punish Lila and vent his frustration, but he never expected her lips to be so soft and sweet.

Lila kept her lips tightly shut, her eyes filled with rare clarity amidst the passion.

She gazed at Killian so close to her, feeling a mix of emotions she couldn't quite name—was it hate or resentment?

"Open your mouth."

Killian, unable to pry her teeth apart, bit her lip.

Lila slightly parted her lips, and Killian's masculine presence invaded her mouth.

His tongue swirled inside, chasing hers.

Lila couldn't resist; she was kissed into a daze, unable to close her mouth as saliva trickled down her neck.

Killian was completely aroused.

His right hand deftly removed Lila's dress, his hand caressing her soft chest.

Her breasts were so large.

One hand couldn't even hold them.

How had he never noticed how full and perky Lila's chest was before?

After their wild encounter, Lila lit a post-coital cigarette.

As she got up to dress, Killian stopped her.

"Wear this." He handed her his shirt with a teasing, suggestive smile. "Or I can help you put it on. I'd like to watch."

"You're out of your mind." Lila tried to swat his hand away, but he pulled her back onto the bed, making her frown. "Let go of me."

"What's the rush?" Killian took the cigarette from her mouth, took a drag, and blew a smoke ring in her face before extinguishing it in the ashtray on the nightstand.

As the smoke slowly dissipated, his hand roamed from Lila's smooth shoulder down her back, tracing her spine to her tailbone.

Lila's alluring eyes filled with tears, her pale skin flushed with arousal, her lips slightly parted. Despite her struggle and resistance, she looked even more enticing.

Killian's eyes darkened as he shamelessly admired her.

Lila was stunning, breathtakingly so, especially when she bloomed beneath him.

His gaze lingered on Lila as he chuckled softly.

"Using me as a tool and then leaving? That's not how it works."

Lila's pupils contracted as she forced herself to stay calm, sneering as she tried to push Killian away.

"Didn't you know I was pregnant? How could you be so rough?"

"I don't like liars. I distinctly remember you coming on to me."

Killian grabbed her delicate hand and pressed it against his chiseled chest. "That night in bed, your hand was all over my chest. You got mad when I stopped you."

"I was set up by someone else and mistook you for someone else!" Lila argued, trying to pull her hand away.

"Mistook me?" Killian's eyes grew colder, but his smile widened. "You didn't mistake me for Silas, did you?"

"Of course not." Lila scoffed.

She had never intended to marry Silas and had never had romantic feelings for him.

In the few days she'd known Killian, she hadn't realized how devious he could be.

"What, not tired yet? Perfect, let's go again." Killian whispered, nibbling her ear, his warm breath brushing her neck, turning it a rosy hue.
