Chapter 49 Shameless

"Is she nuts? She just trashed 'Timeless' with greasy meat, and now she's back?"

"Whoa, is this the lost-and-found heiress of the Kynance family? Her private life is way too scandalous. Stripping in broad daylight? I'm totally shocked!"

"Guys, I just did a live stream, and now I have a hundred thousand followers. Miss Voss's series of inappropriate actions earned me ten thousand dollars in ten minutes. Thanks to my top supporter, I'm risking it all for a close-up."

A young man, crying, shoved his phone into Eirlys's face.

At that moment, Eirlys, with half-removed makeup, looked hideous and was writhing around.

Charles didn't know whether to watch or step aside when he saw her in this state.

"Mr. Hart..."

Killian, frustrated, pulled Eirlys off him. "What are you standing there for? Knock her out and take her to the hospital!"

In the ward.

Seraphina complained while tidying up the bed for Liam, who had a stroke from anger.

"I'm so unlucky to have such a useless husband. You had such a great chance to show off, and you fainted in the hospital. If I hadn't come to check on you, I'd be at home dreaming!"

"You think I wanted this? It's all because of that brat Lila. She made me lose face completely!"

"What happened exactly?"

Liam, with a twisted mouth, exaggerated Lila's actions from the previous night.

"What! You said she saved Kai? And she tricked you out of forty million dollars!"

Liam nodded angrily. "Yes, she did it!"

"That wretch! She almost put Eirlys in a body bag last night. We were this close to having to bury her."

She gritted her teeth fiercely.

"Is Eirlys okay?" he asked with concern.

"She's fine, just some skin injuries. She'll be better in ten days or so."

Liam had just started to relax when he suddenly remembered Lila's demand.

"It's all over! She is forcing Killian to marry her. By now, they might already..."

"Honey, you're confused! Killian is marrying Eirlys. He asked for her driver's license this morning. They should have their marriage certificate by now."

Liam furrowed his brows in suspicion. Could he have been so angry last night that he misheard?

"Are you sure? Eirlys is marrying Mr. Hart?"

"Of course! You just focus on getting better. Soon, you'll be the father-in-law of Killian. The money Lila tricked out of us will finally come back to us."

They exchanged a meaningful glance.

"You're right. That money will come back to us eventually. And not just the money, but the Hart family and the Kynance family will be mine!"

Liam's eyes sparkled with excitement. 

Just then, the door was knocked on, and the head nurse entered.

"Mr. Voss, there's trouble. Miss. Voss was just brought to the hospital! Her condition..."

Liam interrupted her, "You mean Eirlys? What's wrong with her?"

The head nurse hesitated. "You should go see for yourself... But I suggest Mrs. Voss go. It might be easier."

Seraphina was thrown into a panic by her look.

"Honey, you rest here. I'll go check on Eirlys."

Leaving those words, Seraphina rushed to Eirlys's room.

At that moment, Eirlys was like a ripe tomato, completely naked, shouting in the room.

"Mr. Hart!"

"Mr. Hart! Come here, I want to have your baby!"

Seraphina greeted Killian, standing outside the door, and quickly closed it, helping the nurse cover Eirlys's mouth.

"Eirlys, aren't you ashamed?"

"I don't care about shame. I want a man, give me a man!"

Seraphina's scalp tingled, and she slapped her. "Shut up!"

During her brief silence, the nurse managed to inject the medication. 

After about five minutes, Eirlys gradually regained consciousness.

Eirlys woke up to find herself looking like a barmaid, clutching her head in despair.

"Mom, what happened? How did I end up like this?"

"Don't ask me! I told you to drug Killian, not yourself!"

One sentence reminded Eirlys that her current state was all thanks to Lila.

"It's Lila! She swapped my stuff, splashed water on me, and used this damn drug on me! Mom, what do I do? Will Mr. Hart want me?"

"He's right outside."

"Really?" Eirlys's eyes lit up with hope. "Mr. Hart truly loves me. Nurse, get me some clothes. I need to see him."

The nurse could only offer her a hospital gown.

"Eirlys, did you get the marriage certificate?"

Seraphina looked at Eirlys's face, which was almost disfigured, and asked worriedly.

Eirlys shook her head. "I told you Lila ruined it. We were so close, and I'd be Mr. Hart's wife now!"

She clutched the blanket, grinding her teeth, as if she wanted to tear Lila apart.

Seraphina was also furious. 

Liam's career was ruined by Lila, and now Eirlys's marriage was wrecked by her.

Lila was their family's curse!

"Mom, what time is it?"

"Two in the afternoon."

"The City Hall is still open. I'll go get the certificate with Mr. Hart now."

Eirlys, like she was possessed, put on her shoes and ran out.

Seeing Killian standing at the end of the hallway by the balcony, she finally felt relieved.

"Mr. Hart," Eirlys called softly, tears streaming down her face.

"I don't know why I acted like that earlier. If I scared you, I'm really sorry. I embarrassed you, didn't I? I'm so sorry..."

Eirlys cried and tried to lean into his arms.

However, he coldly avoided her.

"As long as you're okay."

She sniffled, using a voice that men found hard to resist, weak and pleading, "So, are we still getting the marriage certificate today?"

Killian didn't like lies.

"I won't marry you."
