WHO IS MY DAD?
Jackson stared at them for a second and walked out of the castle, talking to the student warriors who were all warming up in the field in their own way. Lucas stopped what he was doing and walked over to Jackson.
"Is Ava going to come today? or she is just running late." Lucas inquired.
"She got up on the wrong side of the bed, so she is not feeling fine. You don't have to worry about her. She will come around tomorrow." Jackson assured.
"I hope so. This training is boring without her. She is always talking." Lucas giggled.
"How does it feel to be married?" Jackson asked bluntly. Lucas blinked his eyes, wondering why Jackson was suddenly interested in his love life.
"It's not something to be proud of because it comes with a lot of responsibility, especially when you are living in your parents' house." Lucas said, looking down. Jackson was stunned that Lucas was with his in-laws.
"Have you considered getting a job? So you can support your wife financially and also save up some money to get a house." Jackson said.
"I have thought of that, but I am still a student in my second year of college." Lucas replied.
"Try to get a part-time job." Jackson said and turned to look at the other students who were all standing in front of him, jumping in one spot together.
Anthony strolled to the field in his sweat pants and a white towel around his neck with a maid by his side. He looked around the field for Ava.
"Where the hell is that girl?" he said to himself and walked over to Jackson, who was giving him the cold shoulder.
Ava woke up from her slumber and started sniffing the aroma of a delicious cuisine. She got up from the bed, holding her stomach, when she sighted a plate of noodles on her small glass table. She smiled before dragging the table close to her. She took the fork and entangled her noodles in it before taking a bite.
Sena made her way into the room and sat next to her on the bed, stroking her hair.
"How are you feeling now, honey?" Sena asked in a soft tone.
"Much better mom, some things are not meant to be." Ava commented.
"I know that's why you have to be strong." Sena said, stroking her back.
"Mom you are distracting me from eating my noodles." Ava said, blowing the noodles with her mouth.
"You are my daughter. I can't help but touch you." Sena said, washing her as she ate.
Ava finished eating and Sena cleared the table, heading to the kitchen with the plate, Ava ran after her and took the plates from her. She put them on the sink and took some detergent from the top cupboard and poured it into the sink before adding some water.
Ava stared at Sena and smiled.
"Um, mom, I have been wondering what my father was like because you don't talk about him." Ava said. Sena opened her eyes wide in surprise that Ava had finally come of age inside and started asking weird questions.
"Talk to me, mom." Ava said, staring at Sena, who was lost for words. She bit her lower lip and cleared her throat.
"I never talk about him because I will be of the dreadful thing that happened to him." Sena said and started crying crocodile tears. Her husband died because of cancer.
"I am sorry if I reminded you of that, but I want to know, I have the right to." Ava said and switched on the tap, using it to rinse all the dishes. She took them out of the sink and placed them on top of the counter before turning to Sena, who was still crying.
Ava held her hand, lifting her chin so she could see her eyes. "Please talk to me mom, look for the courage to tell me, I am his child I deserve to know." Ava said. Sena chuckled and rubbed her hand as her tears landed on their hands.
"Don't worry honey, you won't understand. I will tell you when you come of age." Sena assured. Ava screwed up her face because she was desperate to hear about her father, and Sena wasn't really to tell her. It made her angry.
"I am practically an adult now. I have seen my wolf." Ava protested.
"Seeing your wolf is different from maturity." Sena said, with a little bit of anger in her voice.
"Alright, if you don't want to tell me who he is, at least tell me what he is like and show me a picture or something, because ever since I was a kid, I haven't gotten a glimpse of dad's picture of his face." Ava said.
"Come on honey, you know I don't like taking picture's." Sena said, and heaved a sigh.
"Your dad was a caring and considerate person. He was my knight in shining armor. He was someone that was ready to fight and die for those he cared about. He valued his people a lot and was a great leader in society." Sena said with a smile.
"Was he also a beta?" Ava inquired.
"Yes, he was," Sena replied.
"Now I know where Jackson got his blood from." Ava said, smiling.
"I might look happy, but deep down I am not. I know Jackson cares a lot about this pack, but he should start thinking about himself. Since he was young, he hasn't found his mate. I don't know if he has seen one behind my back, but he doesn't want to have any relationship with girls. He is getting old, it scares me." Sena poured her heart out to Ava.
"I have also thought of that. Maybe his mate is not in this pack." Ava suggested.
"How old is he?" Ava asked bluntly.
"He is 35 years old." Sena replied. Ava gasped.
"Is he that old? I thought he was 26 because he was still so young." Ava said.
"That's just his nature. He needs to finish building a family. I can't wait to see my grandkids." Sena said she was daydreaming about her grandkids.
