Chapter 103: CAN'T BEAT NATURE

Jackson stood in the middle of the castle and looked up.

"How can I stop this rain? Who am I kidding, I can't beat nature." he concluded as the rain was getting into his eyes.

"I hope my room doesn't have a leak." he added, and started walking toward his room. Anthony asked the warriors to shut the main door and also head to his room. He shot the door and took off his wet clothes, tossing them into a mini basket at the side of his room.

Ava was walking in the rain. It was pouring so hard that she could barely see. The rain was mixed with her hot tears. As she walked down the pack, shivering in the cold, she hit her foot on a rock and squatted down, looking at her foot that had turned red.

"Belle!!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. The thought of never getting to see her face again hurt her. Ava rubbed her feet and sat on the floor, weeping hard. Suddenly, she couldn't feel the rain anymore. She slowly looked up because she could hear the pitter-patter sound of the rain and saw Andrew standing beside her with an umbrella in his hand.

"What are you doing here? Go away! You murderer son! " Ava roared.

"That doesn't sound like you, Ava. Why would you insult me?" Andrew said.

"I don't even know who I am talking to; just stay away from me." Ava said and stood up to face him, glaring at him.

"When I look at you, I am reminded of the pain, the sight of watching my friend getting killed before my eyes and I couldn't do anything. You guys are just too cruel." Ava said, and hit him on the chest.

"You can hit me more if that makes you feel better." Andrew replied. Ava lifted her upper lip in disgust and took off her shoes, and carried it walking away from him with barefoot.

"Wait for me!" Andrew said and ran after her. He didn't know why he was chasing her, but his leg was doing the action.

Ava hastened her footsteps, not caring if her foot hurt; she just wanted to moan to her friend without getting to see the faces of the people that reminded her of the death of Belle.

She sighted Sena walking toward her from afar with a yellow umbrella above her head. She was fighting with the wind that was striving to take her umbrella.

"You are not supposed to be in the rain, young lady. You will catch a cold." Sena said. Ava looked back at Andrew, who waved at her and disappeared. She ran into her mother's arms and hugged her tightly, trying not to let go as she sobbed in her arms. Sena stroked her wet hair.

"You are so wet, I didn't give you permission to touch me." Sena whined. Seeing the way Ava was down, she guessed her friend had been killed. Sena let go of the umbrella and wrapped her hand around her.

"Don't cry, my darling. I am sure your friend must be sad to see you this way. You have to be strong for her and pull yourself together if you want to exact revenge on those people that took away your loved one." Sena said, her words were like music in Ava's ear; it was the motivation she needed as she sobbed.

Sena managed to drag Ava out of the rain and took her phone. Taking off her clothes for her, Ava changed into casual wear and walked over to her mom, who was sitting on the couch with two cups of coffee in her hand and staring at the hearth in front of her.

Ava sat next to her and took the hot coffee from her. Ava took a sip and nearly panicked with it burned her tongue. She dropped it on the table and gently rested her head on her mother's shoulder, watching the flames of fire in the air.

"Remember not to cry too much." Sena said, and touched her cheek. They both ended up sleeping next to the fire.

The next day.

Sena woke up to a call from Jackson, who was telling her that the pack school had started, Sena walked to her room and took a hot shower before walking to the couch to wake up Ava. She started tapping Ava on the face.

"Leave me alone!" Ava complained.

"Don't start with me this morning, honey, wake up this time for school," Sena said. Ava grumpily rose from the couch and stared at Sena with a poker face.

"Mom, I don't wanna go to that school. I will only be reminded of Belle. She is literally the only friend I have there." Ava whimpered.

"Just because she is dead, doesn't mean you can't leave your life, has Lucas dropped out of school? because I haven't heard you talking about him these days." Sena said.

"He is still coming to school, but I don't feel the connection I used to feel with him anymore." Ava muttered.

"Which connection? Isn't he your best friend? You should go to school. You can't skip school after being away from school for such a long time." Sena advised.

"I don't care anymore, mom, I just wanna stay home." Ava said with pleading eyes and grabbed the edge of Sena's dress. Sena looked down at her, and Ava blinked her eyes in a cute way.

"Alright honey, but you have to promise to go to school tomorrow regardless," Sena said.

"I promise," Ava said, with a smile, and started walking toward her room.

"Don't forget to come down for breakfast," Sena said.

"I will, mom." Ava said, and slammed the door of her room. She went to her bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Finally, some peace and quiet." Ava said and sighed. She took out her phone and started looking at the pictures and chats she had with Belle.

"It's funny how time flies, and it hurts when you realize you won't get to see her again because she is dead." Ivy remarked as a tear escaped from Ava's eyes.
