CHAPTER 76

Her words crushed him the weight of it tore his heart to shreds into pieces,he's lost her and if he walks out that door he'll never get another chance to win her love."I lived without you once and I will again for the sake of Ally and my babies I will.I won't deprive you of being a father to your kids whatever happened today is between us.Now please,I'd like to go to bed.We done here." Abby thought he wasn't gonna go but what seemed an eternity did she hear the door open and quietly shut,he's gone a cold shiver close over her.In a daze state she went to bed not that she slept she spent half of the night awake and the other half crying endless silent tears that wouldn't stop.She didn't leave her room the following day her body was too weak to get up and face everyone Francesca brought her breakfast which she didn't eat,around midday Mariana came to see her.

"Abigail dear.Francesca said you haven't touched your food,is everything alright."

"I'm fine."She softly whispered.

"You need to eat dear you hardly ate yesterday and didn't even have your dinner.Did you and Alejandro have a fight."

"I want to be alone for a while."

"Abigail..."

"Please."She murmured.

"Okay,I'll come and check up on you later."Abby nodded,all she wanted was to be alone to lick her wounds in peace before she was gonna break the news to anyone,she bet he hasn't told his family yet what excuse will he give them. Later that day she heard another knock on the door why can't anyone leave her alone.

"Abby honey?"

"Mom."She whispered,her mother was here sitting upright she glanced at the door it was her mom she's never been so happy to see her.Abby jumped off the bed and ran to her.

"I should go away more often if I get warm welcomes as this."Kate joked.

"I'm happy mom is here."

"I can tell from the way you crushing me."Abby loosen her hold,Kate cupped her daughter's cheeks."You've been crying.What's wrong?"

"Nothing."Abby went to sit down on the bed."When did mom arrive."

"Mariana told me you haven't been eating and hasn't left the room since last night.The last time this happened you were crying over Alejandro."Kate touched her daughter's hands."Talk to me honey.You don't look a bride to be."

"Oh mom."She sobbed fresh tears coming all over again."It's over.He's gone." Kate pulled Abby into her arms and held her as she cried her own heart going out to her daughter."I don't think I'll survive losing him a second time is it even possible to lose one person twice."She said sobbing between breaths."I can't mom...I can't go through this again.This pain is too strong...too much,is it possible to die from this suffering cause that's how I'm feeling right now I'm dead inside,he killed me."

"Hush now."Kate gently stroked her back,her own tears threatening to fall."It's okay."

Abby violently shook her head."How can everything be okay if I'm living without him nothing will ever be okay."

"Abby sweetie calm down.You need to calm down this isn't good for the babies I know you hurt and in pain you have every right to be,but honey think about the babies they need their mother to be strong for them."She wiped Abby's cheeks."You can do this,you'll get through this.Come on go and wash your face and have something to eat."Her mother stayed with her the rest of the day she didn't ask any questions she only stayed by her daugther's side and Abby appreciated that she only needed comfort nothing else.She doesn't want to talk about what happened between her and Alejandro even thinking about it brings new tears to the surface,her mother was right she'll get through this she has to three little lives are depending on her and she cannot disappoint them. She has to try and live without Alejandro again difficult as it may be she has to try and that begins with going away from here where no one can find her,she has to get him out of her system,her heart for good and that begins right now.

"Are you sure about this?" Her mother asked two days later.

She nodded."I already spoke to Ally it's only for a few weeks mom."

"I don't think you should be on your own."

"I'll be fine,I need this I have to do it if I want to forget and move on."

"The wedding is this weekend have you spoken to Mariana."

"About what?"She asked strolling into the room her eyes fell on Abby's bags on the bed."What's this.Where are you going?"

"I'm leaving I don't know when I'll be back."Abby gave her a hug."Thank you for welcoming me into your beautiful home and family."

"Kate."She said glancing back and forth between them."You can't leave the wedding is in a few days."

He hasn't told them yet."There won't be a wedding anymore."

"What do you mean.What's going on here.Kate."

"Your guess is as good as mine."

"I think it would be better if you talk to your son."Abby told her."I need to leave my flight is leaving in an hour."

"Abby dear don't go."

"I can't Mariana.Alejandro and I are from different worlds I can't force a man who doesn't love me to stay with me,please don't ask me to stay because I can't.I love you both alot,I'll miss you and don't call."

"I won't do that."Kate argued."You my daughter."

"Alejandro son she's your wife.Go after her."He's been listening to his parents for the last hour about the mistake he was making in letting Abigail go he wasn't even hearing a word,she's left Spain...left him and there's no turning back.

"He's not even listening to us."His mother said.

"I can't do this right now."He said walking to the door.

"Get your wife back or I'll too walk out that door and you won't ever see me again."
