Kieran’s POV
I was expecting a nice relaxing run at the start, until Jess asked me if I was ready to get my arse kicked by a girl. Then when Christina and Nick came out to referee, I knew that this was not going to be a relaxing run at all. I had not done any competitive running in years, I was mainly on the road so all my workouts were done at gyms around the country. We got into position and then the race started and I set off at high speed, I realised my mistake when Jess passed me. I didn’t think about how far we had to run and I started to slow down realising I had to preserve some energy for the final sprint. I kept up with her staying close behind and I started to have faith that I could win. Once I saw Christina and Nick waving at us from the finish Jess started to speed up. I groaned as I realised, she had still not been pushing herself. I tried to keep up with her, but I must admit she was too fast for me and she ended up winning by a good couple of minutes. I was totally fucked by the time I finished and all I wanted was to relax in the spa. The idea of a swim did not interest me at all. We made our way back to the bedroom so we could both get changed. I looked at Jess in her tiny little pink and yellow bikini and suddenly didn’t want the other men seeing her in it. I know it was primal and they had their own girlfriends, so would most likely not even look at Jess. But still I wanted to keep her all to myself when she dressed like that. I bit my tongue though and allowed her to lead the way to the spa. The others were already there with an open bottle of wine. I cringed as I knew that John would lose his shit if people turned up to a meeting drunk. I knew that her friends were not part of the service, but they would still be working with us and need to follow our rules. Thankfully Jess was on the same page as me and grinned as they handed her a coke. Turns out that she does not allow anyone else to drive the kombi. Not that I could blame her, I had always been the same with my cars, and I suddenly realised that I never did let her drive my car like I promised. Once I got it back here, I would have to remedy that. Since we were going back to the warehouse and that’s where I left it, I might as well bring it back with me. We all laid back and started to relax in the spa, we all fell into a relaxed silence, and I pulled Jess closed to my side. I could get used to this, only I would need to work on my long-distance running skills so that I could hopefully beat Jess in the future.
Soon it was time for us to leave to go and meet John and I was excited to get a plan in place. We all got out of the spa so that we could all get dressed. As soon as we got to our room, I walked over to the wardrobe so see what kind of clothes my girl wore these days. It had been ten years, but I still hoped she had the same dress style. I loved seeing her in bright colours, it just seemed to make the world look brighter and happier. I grinned when I saw that her wardrobe was full of bright colours, so she hadn’t changed that much after all.
I found a cute orange dress and pulled it out and handed it to her. “Wear this, you can wear ¾ leggings underneath”
I then went back to looking in her wardrobe now to find a pair of shoes that would go with her outfit. I knew it was silly, but since we were going back to the place were we first met I wanted her to look like the Jess she used to be. I found a pair of white platforms and handed them to her. She sighed as she started to put them on before looking up at me and reminding me that I was still stood in my swim shorts. I had not even thought about what I was going to wear, my focus has all been on Jess. She walked over to the wardrobe and turned back around to face me.
“Hey, all these clothes were not in your pack. How did they get here?”
I forgot about Hayley and Oscar going and grabbing the rest of my things last night. I quickly filled her in as she grabbed some clothes out for me. I was impressed with her choice as it matched what I would have picked out for myself. Once we were both dressed, we made our way back to the lounge to meet the others. I was surprised that everyone had dressed up for the meeting. Paul and Nick were even dressed in suits. The girls were also dressed in dresses and looked stunning. I gave them all a subtle nod to thank them for all making the effort.
We all made our way out to the Kombi and everyone else climbed into the back with Romeo while I climbed into the passenger seat. We arrived at the warehouse and John came out to meet us also dressed to the nines. I grinned at him over Jess’s shoulder as he told her that we have a surprise for her later.
. “Hey at least I am not going to be put on the spot this time and made to stand up in front of a group of people I don’t know” she grumbled as she walked through the door that John was holding open for us.
“Well, you won’t be put on the spot here no, but maybe later” I chuckled as I walked off with John.
