Jess’s POV
I had always gone for a run on a morning. It was his favourite time of the day. I put on my trainers and stood waiting for Kieran to finish putting his on. “So, are you ready to get your arse kicked by a girl?” I was pumped. I had heard all the rumours about how competitive Kieran was. I knew that there was no way that he would let me win and I knew that racing him would be a challenge.
“Ready. You do realise that there is no way that you can beat me?”
“We will see about that” I took his hand and led him out the door. We both did our warmup stretches by the back door. “Ok so we are going to run around the fence line of my property” I had never fenced off the individual paddocks. I had just left it all open. It made it better for my run.
“Sure thing. Just a note though, I do not think that you will be up for a swim after this”
“Whatever, I think that you should focus your energy on trying to keep up, not psyching me out”
“Hey guys. I thought that you better have a couple of referees here to make sure that we all agree who wins this race” Christina smiled at us “I brought Nick too. That way you have two sets off eyes watching to make sure that the real winner is known to all”
“What a good idea, thank you Christina. Come on Kieran let’s get this party started”
“Ok guys get into your starting positions” Christina was getting excited and bouncing on the spot
Kieran and I got into our positions.
“Ok on your marks, get set, go” Christina shouted at the top of her lungs
Kieran and I were off. He took off quicker than me and I had to stop from laughing as I knew that would use up too much energy. Kieran had not noticed how long the track we were running was. I kept at a fast but my not my fastest run. About quarter of the way around Kieran started to get tired and slow down. I kept at the same speed and by the time we reached the halfway point I had overtaken him. When we reached the ¾ mark he started to speed up. The only down fall was that I had not been pushing myself, so I also sped up. I could hear him panting behind me. He sounded too close for comfort, so I put the rest of my energy into my running and started to pull further away from him. I saw Nick and Christina at the finish line and passed it beating my own record time. Kieran crossed the finish line a couple of minutes after me.
“Damn it you are good. Well for a human” Nick was grinning at me. He was a typical werewolf and loved competition.
“Yeah, I have to agree with Nick. You are good Jess. I can admit that I got my arse kicked”
“By a girl too” I pulled him into my arms. “I love you though”
“Yeah, I love you too. I am not in much shape for a swim, but a spa sounds good if you would like to join me?”
“I would love to join you” I took his hand, and we walked back towards the house with Nick and Christina walking beside us.
“How big is this spa?” Christina asked
“It is a big one. I think that it is supposed to fit 12 people. Why?”
“I was just wondering if there was room for us to join you.”
“Sure, we will probably have to share with Hayley and Oscar anyway, as I do not think that they will be out yet”
“That’s true. I will just go and put my bikini on then” Christina ran off. Nick stood by us a bit watching but then he ran after her. He changed in mid run and threw her on to his back without breaking his run.
“That was so cute”
“You know that I could do that but turn into a big white horse”
“Now that would be romantic. Come on left go and get into our togs so that we can join the others in the spa” I did not see the point in rushing since we had just had a huge run, so we walked slowly hand in hand. Romeo was happy after his run. He had managed to keep up with me the whole time, so he was happy. We got back to the house, and I changed into my bikini, Kieran changed into a pair of baggy shorts. “What no speedo?”
“Um no thank you. I do not even where under pants. I am a boxer kind of guy. Shorts suit me better. Also, under pants restrict me too much. I think that it must be due to the size of my manhood”
“Yeah, I am sure that’s the reason”
“But I must say that you look mighty fine in the bikini”
I was wearing a pink and yellow stripped bikini what was very skimpy. “Thank you” I took his hand again and we walked towards the pool room that was also the home of my new spa. Everyone else was already in the spa. I noticed that one of them had gone and got a bottle of wine. “Hey, don’t get drunk. We have to meet John in a few hours”
“Jess calm down. We are only having one glass of wine each and look we got you a can of coke” Amber held out a can of coke to me “we knew that you would want to drive”
“Damn right. You all know that no one, but me gets to drive the kombi” I slipped into the spa and was happy about the heat. I felt my body instantly relax. I moved so that I could put my coke on the side. Kieran slipped in next to me. We all went into a relaxed silence as the water massaged our backs.
