Chapter 89 Chapter 89

Chapter 89 Chapter 89
Kieran’s POV

I placed the food and drink down for Paul and Oscar and then took my own seat again. I started to eat and looked up at Jess who was stood with a goofy looking grin on her face. I guess she was enjoying having her friends and their men live with us. Though to be honest I was just looking forward to finally living with Jess after dreaming about it for all these years. Jess finally came and sat down, and we all finished our food with small talk going around the table.

Once we were all finished Hayley shot up from the table mentioning something about drinking games and got up and walked to the kitchen, we all gave each other confused looks while we waited for her to come back. She called out to Oscar to go and help her, and I was trying to figure out what she could be doing in the kitchen. Maybe she was doing the dishes, since I did all the cooking. I figured I was wrong when she came back out with Oscar, and they were both carrying bags of booze and what looked like shot glasses. I had a feeling that tonight was going to get quite messy. She ordered us to all get in a circle in the lounge and we all obeyed. I had not played any drinking games since I was 18 and was in base training. I was dreading about how this could all go down. We started off with the easy game of red or black. It was a way for everyone to get a buzz on without having to tell their deepest secrets or make a total dick of themselves. By the end of the game most of us had a nice buzz going apart from Paul. The guy managed to only get two cards wrong, I was sure he had managed to play the game somehow and Hayley confirmed it. We all watched as Hayley and Oscar kept pouring him shots until Hayley was happy.

Hayley was loving this, and you could tell that she was in her element. She declared the next game to be truth or dare, and I think that we all saw that coming. To make things fair you had to spin the bottle to choose who you got to pick. That way everyone could not just pick on one person, but Hayley had to add in the extra rule that if you didn’t do the truth or dare you had to drink. But then if you did do it then the person who asked you had to drink. I had a feeling that Hayley just wanted to see how drunk she could get us all. Amber went first and got Hayley, making her get up and hug Nick. It was a cute plan, and I think it was Nick who was more worried about it. Hayley seemed happy and took it in her stride even if she did threaten him if he ever hurt Christina. Hayley spun and landed on Paul, he chose truth, and it threw Hayley off as she tried to think of something to ask him. She finally asked if his parents knew he was a witch. I thought this was odd as wouldn’t his parents also be witches. Turns out the poor guy was abandoned as a kid and he has no idea who his real parents are. He confessed that his adoptive parents did not have a clue that he was a witch. I wanted to ask more, like how he discovered he was a witch. But I knew that now was not the right time or place, so I added a mental note to ask him about it later. Then Paul spun and it landed on Jess, and she chose dare. I expected him to make her do something stupid, but what he asked her to do was worse. He asked her to dig into everyone’s mind and tell their deepest darkest secret. I knew that Jess had never dug into my mind, she loved me too much to breach that trust. Now her and the rest of the group were going to find out my secret. I was planning on telling Jess when I finally got her alone, now that option has been taken out of my hands. I wiped my now sweaty palms on my jeans, and I watched Jess move around the group. I watched Jess make her way around the circle but not really taking in much of what was been said. Then it was finally my turn, and I felt sick with worry as I felt her probe inside my head and then she gasped as she went pale. My secret was now out and from the look of it she was not taking it very well.

“You’re not human” she gasped

I confirmed that she was correct and that I am not human, I am a shapeshifter. I have the ability to be able to change my form to anything with a heart. To prove my point I shifted into Jess, her form was easy for me as I had shifted into it many times when I was away from her. It was a way for me to still be able to see and touch her. Even if it was sick and wrong I needed it to keep me going and stop me from breaking the order and running back to her.

Jess touched my face in awe before quickly downing her shot and telling everyone she was tried and done for the night. I watched her run off towards her room and tried to debate if I should go after her or stay here.

“Leave her” Amber told me “She will need time to process everything”

“Yeah” Hayley chuckled “She has had a lot thrown at her the last few days”

“I was hoping to have told her in private” I grumbled as I looked at Paul who gave me a guilty look.

“I had no idea dude” he sighed “If I had I would have chosen something else”
