Jess’s POV
I noticed that the girls where all sat together leaving a space for me between them. I sat the bottle of wine down in front of them and walked back to the kitchen. Kieran had grabbed a couple of plates, so I grabbed another two and followed him out. He placed his two plates in front of Nick and Christina, so I placed mine in front of Hayley and Amber. I stopped to grab a sip of my wine before I went back on to the kitchen. Kieran had picked up the last two plates.
“Hey Jess, can you please grab the knives and forks”
I grabbed them and then headed back to the dining room excited about eating and then drinking. Kieran had already placed the plates on the table. I went around and handed everyone a set of knives and forks then I too sat down and took a long sip on my wine.
“I have put a plate in the oven for when Paul arrives. I was not sure what time he would be arriving”
“Thank you, Kieran, that’s very sweet of you. He should be here anytime now”
As if that was a cue there was a knock at the door. I got up and walked to the door. “Hi, I am Jess come on in” I stepped out of the way, and a witch and a vampire stepped in to my house.
“Are you both hungry? There is plenty of food left?” Kieran asked. Had not noticed but he had got up and come to stand behind me.
“I would love some thank you. I am Paul by the way”
“Hi Paul. I am Kieran. I am guessing that you know all the others?”
“Yes, I do. It’s nice to meet you Kieran and thank you for the food and for letting me come and stay”
“No worries. I have only just started living here myself. This is really Jess’s place. What about you Oscar?”
“No, I am fine thanks I ate on the way” They way that he said ate made us all know that he meant drank blood. “I would love a drink thought if that’s ok. I am sure that I can smell JD and coke”
“Sure, I will be back in a sec” Kieran walked back into the kitchen.
“Have a seat guys” I motioned to the table
Oscar went over and gave Hayley a kiss and then sat down. Paul smiled at me as he walked past me. He gave Amber a huge hug and kiss.
“I missed you so much beautiful”
I smiled to myself. I like Paul instantly. Kieran came back with food for Paul and a drink for Oscar. He placed the down in front of them and then he returned to his seat and started to eat again. I stood for a minute longer with a smile on my face watching my friends all talk among the selves while they ate. Well apart from Oscar who was just drinking. I walked back to the table and started to eat my own food.
“Ok so who is up for some drinking games?” Hayley was grinning. She got up from her seat and walked into the kitchen not waiting for a reply. We all sat looking in the direction of the kitchen waiting for her to come back. “Oscar” She yelled “Can you please come and give me a hand” Oscar was up and gone without us even seeing him move.
“Ok now what the hell are them vamps up to now?” Christina tried to put anger into her voice but just one look at her and you could tell that she was excited.
“God knows” I replied “But I have a feeling that we are all about to get very drunk”
As if on cue Hayley and Oscar returned. They were both carrying two bags each filled with booze. One also had shot glasses in it.
“Ok now I want everyone sat in a circle in the lounge please” Hayley ordered
We all obeyed and sat down. The circle went Me, Kieran, Paul, Amber, Nick, Hayley and Oscar.
“Ok we need to start with something light to start with, just to get us all in the swing of things. So, we will play red or black first” Hayley pulled a pack of cards out of one of the bags. “Now does everyone know how to play?”
We all nodded
“Good so if you guess wrong you have to have a shot. If you get it right, you’re safe” Hayley reached into the bag and pulled out a bottle of Jack. She poured us all a shot and handed them out to us. “Ok Oscar we will start with you and go clockwise” She put the pile of cards face down in front of her. “Ok Oscar red or black?”
“I am going to go with black”
Hayley flicked the card over and sure enough it was black. Next it was my turn. I called red and it came up black. I drank my shot, and Oscar refilled my glass. Kieran also called wrong so had to drink. We ended up going around the group six times. I had got all but one of my guesses wrong, so I was getting a bit tipsy. Kieran managed to get two right, but I could tell that he had a buzz going. Paul did better and he only got two wrong I suspected I bit of magic working on his part, but them Amber was hopeless, and she got all her guesses wrong. Nick was also bad, and he only got one right, then there was Hayley who only got one wrong, but she still had a drink any way.
“Now that got us warmed up nicely. Though Paul, you owe us some shots” Hayley snickered
“What why?”
“Do you really need to ask? Magic is not permitted in drinking games, or any games for that matter. It’s called cheating”
“I...What...um...fine” Paul drank his shot. Oscar kept filling his glass until Hayley told him he could stop.
