Jess’s POV
The lock was so basic that it shocked me. I had the door open and the alarm off in less than a minute. I held the door open for them to all enter.
“Wow your even better then I remembered” Kieran pulled me into his arms and kissed my head. “You know we are lucky that you are working with us the good guys and not out robbing banks”
“Hey, the thought has crossed my mind more than once. But I like my life. I have no money problems, and I have a nice life with a nice house. There is nothing that I want or need that can be bought with money. The thing that I want most is priceless”
“Ok guys enough with the soppy crap. We need booze” Amber pushed passed us and started to scan the shelves. “We are going to need a trolley in here guys”
“Already retrieved one of them boss” Christina also pushed past us with a trolley
We all started looking around the isles and putting whatever looked good into the trolley. Soon the trolley was over following.
“My god we are not going to be able to drink all of that” I was gob smacked over how much we had all collected.
“Sure, we will. Now get on that checkout and start scanning check out chick”
I gave Hayley and evil look and then walked around so that I was behind the checkout. This one was not as easy as it had not been logged in. Damn I need to log in and do the start of day process. I had never worked in a store before but Hey I had been in to enough people’s heads to know how to do the start of day. “I need a float to enter guys”
“Just pretend that you have put one in as we will be doing the end of day when we leave anyway so it does not matter” replied Kieran.
I nodded at him as I started to follow the start of day process on the system. It did not take long until I was ready to go and start scanning things. The total was huge. I gasped as I looked at how much my friends owed. “I think that we should all split this bill”
“Yeah, I think that you are right on that one” Amber got out her purse “Ok do you know how to make part payments?”
“You doubt my hacking and checkout skills?” Before she had time to answer I pushed the buttons so that Amber was only paying for a fifth of the booze. I did the rest for everyone else apart from Kieran who paid for both of our shares. After all the booze was paid for, I reset the alarm and locked the door behind us. “Ok so are we all ready to head back to my place now?”
“Yes. Then we can have some dinner and open one of these bottles of wine” Christina replied
“Sounds good to me. Come on everyone get your fat arses into the van”
There was a man sat on my front porch when we got back. Kieran and I where the first ones to spot him and I pulled my pistol out from the middle console. Kieran took hold of the wheel ready to move over as soon as I jumped out of the car. He trusted my senses and my senses told me that I had a werewolf sitting on my front step. I was just about to open the car door and jump out when Christina started squealing and jumping around in the back.
“Jess, stop the van. That’s my Nick. He is here” I had barley stopped the van before she was out and running towards Nick.
I looked at Kieran and then put my gun back in the middle console. I was glad that no one else had seen me get my gun out.
“How many guns do you have hidden?” Kieran gave me a look that let me know that he approved of me hiding guns even though it was against company policy oh yeah and the law.
“You really want to know?”
“Yes. Now tell me. I promise that I will not tell”
“Fine. In total I have 17 guns hidden around my house and car”
“Fuck me Jess are they all legal?”
“That would be a no. I have made a few friends who know some people who know some people”
“You are shocking” He smiled and shook his head at me as he spoke.
I made sure that everyone else was out of the van and then I drove it in to the garage. I opened the side door and started to unload the shopping with Kieran’s help. Hayley appeared out of nowhere and started to help. One look at her face told me that she was not happy about Nick been the first to arrive. I was hoping that she would cheer up a bit when Oscar arrived. We put the bags on the kitchen floor and Hayley started to put the food away without saying a word. Just then Christina came in.
“Hey, do you guys’ mind if I talk to Hayley in private for a bit?”
Kieran and I shook our heads and left them to it. We walked into the lounge and Nick was sat talking to Amber.
“Is Hayley pissed?” Amber had never been one for been discrete
“She does not seem, so happy at the moment no” I went and sat next to Nick on the couch
“Nice to meet you, Nick. Hey Jess, is it ok if I take Romeo for a walk? I would like to see the rest of this place” Kieran asked me
I could tell that Kieran felt uncomfortable with Hayley been angry “Sure don’t be too long though as you guys all have to fight over who is going to cook. Because you all made it pretty clear that you do not trust me to do it”
