Kieran’s POV
We went to see what was taking Christina and Amber so long with the meat. When we arrived, Christina was levitating a whole heap of meat between her and Hayley. They started to levitate it to the trolley, and I decided I would go and grab some vegetables. I realised what an idiot I was when I loaded up my arms and realised, I had left the trolley with the others. I decided to head back with what I had and then go back for more with the trolley. But thankfully Hayley saved me the issue by coming and grabbing what I was holding and running off again. I grabbed some more and followed her placing it in the trolley. One of our trolleys was now full and the second one was about quarter full. Now it was time for the junk food and Jess was happy to take control. She ran off and I quickly followed, soon she was grabbing food and throwing it in the trolley. Soon Amber decided to join in and then Christina causing me to have to maneuver the trolley to catch the food they kept throwing. The only one who did not join in was Hayley, but she seemed to be having a good time watching the other girls have fun and was laughing along with them. When we finally reached the checkout both Amber and Christina were out of breath while Jess, Hayley and I were all fine. This made us all laugh even harder over the fact that the two witches were not as fit as us. Jess played the checkout chick while the rest of us loaded up the conveyor belt and bagged up the food. It did not take long for it all to be processed and I scanned my card before we pushed the trolleys to the Kombi. Once we were up and loaded it was off to the bottle store. I had not drunk with company in years, I usually drank alone wallowing in my self-pity. I was looking forward to drinking with others in a happier environment. We arrived at the bottle store and Jess started to sulk when she spotted that it was still locked.
I chuckled to myself as I reminded her that she was a pro at picking locks. Hell, that was how I met her after she picked the locks on the warehouse. Its not like we were breaking in to steal, we would pay for our booze and then lock up again on our way out. The only evidence we will have left would be the sale that would have been put though the till.
Jess worked her magic, and we were inside in less than a minute. It looks like Jess was still able to surprise and impress me even after all these years. I kissed the top of her head, before Amber told us off for been soppy and pushed past us calling out for a trolley. Christina was already on it and pushed a trolley over to her. I watched as all the girls started to roam the shelves putting things in the trolley. Thankfully they did not throw anything this time. I was about to grab some bourbon before I noticed the girls has already grabbed some. I guess one or maybe all their men drink that too, they also grabbed some beer and lots and lots of RTD’s. Jess voiced what I had been thinking, no way were we going to be able to drink all that. I also dreaded to think of how much it was all going to cost and who was going to cover the bill. I was on food, and it was supposed to be one of the girls on other expenses like booze.
Jess got behind the till and once getting it all up and running she started to scan everything through. Once she was gone, she staired at the screen and gasped. I was right and the total amount was huge, we ended up splitting the bill in 5, I paid for mine and Jess while everyone else paid their share. With that done Jess closed off the till again before setting the alarm and locking up. We all made our way back to the Kombi so that we could head back to the house and make some dinner and have a drink.
We drove back with the same music playing with all of us singing along and having fun. That all changed when we pulled up Jess’s drive and she had a werewolf sitting on her doorstep. Jess grabbed a gun out of the middle console, and I grabbed the steering wheel ready to take over if needed. Jess was just about to jump out when Christina started jumping around in the back telling Jess to stop the Van because Nick was here. As soon as the van stopped Christina was out of the van and running into Nicks arm. Jess gave me a look before quickly putting the gun back before anyone else noticed. I was curious to how many more guns she had hidden around her house and car. It was against policy to not have our weapons locked away. Not to mention also against the law, not that I minded I thought it was smart of her. She was a woman who lived on her own, I thought it was sensible to have ways for her to protect herself. I knew that Romeo would protect her, but he was not as good as a gun. Turns out she has 17 guns hidden around her house and her car. I knew that the department did not provide us with that many guns, so I was curious where she got the rest from as pistols are not easy to get hold of. Turns out they were mostly illegal, and I was not surprised at all, with her skill to read people she could easily find a gun broker and get what she wanted. It also made me even more proud of her knowing she was fine on her own, even if it did also hurt a little.
