Jess’s POV
By the time we got to town we were all singing and head banging along. I was glad that the roads where empty as it is very hard to head bang and drive at the same time. When we pulled into the supermarket car park it was full. “What the hell” I muttered as I pulled into a disabled park
“People were probably shopping when the aliens came” Kieran leaned over and gave me a kiss.
“Yeah, I didn’t think about that” I turned around and opened my door. I waited for the others to get out so that I could lock the car.
“Time for shopping” Hayley grabbed hold of my hand and started dragging me towards to supermarket
The supermarket was completely dead. There were full shopping trolleys everywhere but no people.
“This is really eerie” I grabbed on to Hayley’s hand even harder.
The good mood soon came back once we started to fill a trolley though. Amber grabbed one trolley and Kieran grabbed another.
“Do I dare ask why we need two trolleys?” I asked as I watched Kieran and Amber running down the aisles
“Because we had a sneak peak in your cupboards and you have no bloody food. We have no idea how long we are going to be here, so we have all decided that we are going to stock up” Hayley told me
“Fair enough. So, what kind of food are we shopping for?”
“Don’t worry Jess, we will be cooking too” Christina told me
“Wow so you will really be buying proper food”
“Yes, you can be in charge of choosing treats and we all know that you know about them, and you are also the best baker that I know” Christina smiled at me before she walked off with Hayley towards to meat.
“Kieran there taking over my kitchen”
“I know honey, but it’s not like it got much use before”
“You guys are so mean to me. I know how to cook. I just didn’t see the point in cooking just for me”
“You stress too much relax we are just teasing” He pulled me into his arms and kissed my forehead “I love you, Jess. I would not be marrying you if you could not cook”
“You are such an arse” I gave him a playful punch in the arm
Amber was shaking her head at us “You guys are nuts. Come on let’s go see what is taking them so bloody long to choose some meat” Amber pushed the trolley, and we all walked towards the fridges. We saw Hayley and Christina with packages of meat levitating between them and the trolley
“Finally, you arrive”
“You did not say you wanted us to follow you” Amber was not one to take orders
“Calm down Amber. It’s ok” I smiled at her and carried on watching my friends move the meat into the trolley without touching it. While they were doing that Kieran had wandered off to go and get some veg. Hayley saw him struggling with all the bags and ran over to help him. Well, I was guessing that was what she did as she moved too quickly for me to see. But she returned with arms full of veg and a bag of potatoes.
“Wow look at all of that food” The first trolley was already full. “Are we finished now?”
“Jess come on no way. We need chips and dip, Chocolate and all the other yummy things that you eat when you have girlfriends over”
Now that is something that I know all about follow me” I ran off towards the sweet isle. Kieran was right at my heels with the second trolley. I started grabbing stuff of the shelf and throwing it in to the trolley. Amber was the first one to pick up on what I was doing and she started joining in. We were both laughing our heads off as we threw anything that we got our hands on into the trolley. Christina joined in when we hit the chip isle and she started throwing stuff in the trolley too. I could hear Kieran laughing behind us while he pushed the trolley running to keep up with us. He had to swerve sometimes as Amber and Christina where not a very good shot. Hayley watched us through the whole thing she did not join in with throwing the food in the trolley, but she did laugh along with us, or maybe it was at us. I was not fully sure. By the time we had finished and where at the checkout Amber and Christina were gasping for breath. This made Kieran, Hayley and I laugh even harder, since we were nowhere near breathless.
“Ok now who wants to be a check out chick?” I looked around me friends and they all just stared right back.
“You Jess you’re the best one with computers here. I am sure that you can hack into the till. It will probably have a password on it to get in” Hayley replied
“Argh fine” I walked around the trolley and went behind the counter. I was in luck when the Aliens had come the person here had just been about to do a sale, so I did not have to hack into the system. Hayley loaded the food on to the conveyor belt. Kieran, Amber and Christina started to bag up the food after I had scanned it.
“Ok now we need to head to the bottle store” I was getting excited. I could not remember the last time that I had sat down and had a drink with my friends. I left my friends to push the trolleys to the car, and I ran ahead to get it unlocked. We soon got the van loaded up and then we were off to the bottle store. The only problem was that it was locked. “Damn it. The smoke must have come before they had time to open”
“Jess, have you forgotten that you are the pro at picking locks?” Kieran was looking at me with an amused expression on his face with his head cocked to the right.
“Are you encouraging me to break and enter?”
“Jess we can set the alarm and relock the door when we leave. It’s not like you will be breaking the lock or alarm to get in”
“That’s true” I walked towards the door.
