Kieran’s POV
Once everyone was finished, we all gathered in the lounge and John started to arrange when we could all meet up. Christina and Ambers men would be arriving tonight and Hayleys in the morning, so john arranged for us to meet in a couple of day. I was happy with that as it gave us all time to get used to each other before going to meet with John. I had a feeling that John would be busy contacting the agencies around the world on those two days. He said he needed time to winddown, but I knew that John would not be able to relax when such a large threat was out there.
When he got up to leave, so did Jess’s parents and Justin. I stayed with the girls while Jess went to see them out. Hayley waited until Jess was out of hearing distance before addressing us all.
“Ok, we are going to head into town for food and booze. I want all of us to chip in and pay for everything. Jess is letting us all stay here, so it’s the least we can do”
I grinned at her and nodded “I have a company card I can use, technically this is a business expense”
“Love it” she nodded “Food is on you “We will buy the booze and any other luxuries”
“I am so jealous that you girls all get your men tonight and I have to wait until tomorrow” Hayley sighed.
“That’s because you live so far away, also poor Jess was without Kieran for 10 years. You will be fine” Amber chuckled
“I suppose” she sighed as she suddenly disappeared
“What the fuck” I grumbled as I looked around for her.
“You will get used to her doing that” Christina giggled “If I was to guess she has gone to ask Jess when we are going”
“Ok we are going now” Hayley told us as she reappeared
All the girls squealed as they ran to grab their handbags. By the time Jess came back into the lounge all three of them were stood waiting for her.
“Are we all going?” She asked as she looked between us all. We all nodded enthusiastically “Ok. I will just go and get my purse” she chuckled as she went to walk to her room.
I warned her against that, and Amber told her that we would be paying for all the food while we were living here. Jess finally relented and made her way to her room with us laughing that she needed to grab her licence. I had a feeling we would not have to worry about any law enforcement for a while. Once she came back, she mentioned going for a ride and Romeo instantly walked at her heels. I guess he likes going for rides. We reached the Kombi and all the girls climbed into the back with Romeo while I climbed into the passenger seat next to Jess.
We had barley reached the end of Jess’s drive when the girls all started to chant for music. I was now starting to think I should have stayed behind. I was not sure I would be able to cope been stuck in a car with 4 girls singing along to some shitty pop music. Jess grabbed out a CD wallet from next to her seat and handed it back to the girls. I grinned at her as I loved the old school CD players in cars, looking through the folder while picking what to listen to was one of the best parts of a road trip. The girls handed a CD to Jess, and she put it in without even looking at it. Suddenly a Korn song started to play, and I looked back at the girls in shock.
“You didn’t think we would listen to pop music, did you?” Hayley asked with a smirk
“I did” I admitted “I was starting to regret agreeing to come along”
“How rude” Jess chuckled “I mainly listen to rock, the only pop I listen to is from the 90’s”
“Can not beat 5ive and Aqua” Amber agreed
“I am more a backstreet boy’s fan” I smirked at them as we all started to sing along and head bang to the music. Well, me and the girls did, Jess tried to join in but mainly just sang along since she was driving. We finally arrived in town and Jess pulled into the supermarket and stopped. The carpark was full, and the only available park was a disabled park. Jess pulled into it and mumbled “What the hell” under her breath.
“People were probably shopping when the aliens came” I pointed out to her as I leaned over and gave her a kiss before opening the door and climbing out.
Once we were all out Jess locked the door, and we all made our way to the store. Walking inside was like stepping into a horror movie. The place was deserted with abandoned trolleys scattered all over the place. Jess looked around in fear as she grabbed hold of Hayleys hand. I had to chuckle at her. She dealt with the supernatural and was currently holding the hand of a vampire, but an empty shop scared her. I looked at Amber and nodded my head towards the trolley bay. She nodded back and we both ran over and grabbed a trolley each. We then took off racing each other filling them up with anything that caught our eye. I glanced back and saw that Christina and Hayley were walking over to the butcher section. I stopped in the aisle and waited for Jess to come and catch up with me.
“Kieran there taking over my kitchen” she pouted
“I know honey, but it’s not like it got much use before” I chuckled as I remember when I looked around it still looked brand new.
“You guys are so mean to me. I know how to cook. I just didn’t see the point in cooking just for me”
