Jess’s POV
Kieran and I walked hand in hand.
“Hey Jess, can we come and stay with you for a bit?” Amber was smiling at me knowing that I would never say no to her and my girls.
“You know that you are always welcome”
“Cool we wanted to catch up and also, we want to make sure that we are all together for when they come back and you are the only one apart from Hayley who own their own place. But we cannot really go and stay at Hayley’s as it is way up north and we need to be here to fight and plot”
“Makes sense to me as long as you do not mind Kieran been there”
“We had already gathered that he would be there. Would you mind if we invited our boyfriends too?”
“Hey, you did not tell me that you had boyfriends. When did this happen?”
“I have had mine for just over a Year, Hayley has been with hers only 3 months and Christina has been with hers for 9 months. We did not tell you as you hid from love. You could not even watch a chick flick without crying for a month. So, we all decided that it would be best just not to tell you until you met someone. But you managed to do even better and get your true love back. The guy who fucked you up to start with. I tell you Kieran she must love you. As your leaving really messed her up”
“Gee thanks” he grumbled
“So, these men of yours what are they like?”
“Um yea mine is a witch the same as me. Hayley’s is well another vamp and Christina the tart it with a werewolf”
“Hey, I am not a tart. He is a really nice guy, and he loves me that’s the main thing is it not?”
“Yes, it is the main thing. I am looking forward to meeting all your partners” We all laughed and talked about what rooms they get and how much fun it would be to get to swim in my pool. By the time we got to town they had all decided who had what room and who would sleep in the new sleep out that had just been built for occasions when my family and friends wanted to come and stay. It was decided that Hayley would get the sleep out as her and her boyfriend would have to go hunting.
“So, Jess I am guessing that we will have to go to the supermarket to get food?”
“What are you trying to get as Christina?”
“Well, you don’t eat”
“I do too eat”
“Ok chocolate and cereal do not count”
“What I do not see the point in cooking a meal for just me”
“Girl Romeo here eats better then you” Amber reached over and gave Romeo’s ear a scratch
“Fine point taken. When Kieran and I get home we will go shopping and fill up the pantry. If there is anything that you decide you want either ring me and tell me or send me a text. Are we all happy now?” I looked at everyone around me, and they all just laughed at me. I was glad that they were all going to come and stay with me. This was going to be fun and productive. “I am just going to go and let John know that you guys will be staying with me so that he is aware that you will be attending all of the meetings with Kieran and I” I walked away from them to where John was leading the group. “Hey boss”
“Hey Jess. What’s up? Are they being mean to you back there?”
I let out a laugh “no boss I just thought that I would come and let you know that the girls have decided to come and stay with me. They are also bringing their boyfriends. So, you will have a few more people coming to your meetings”
“That’s great are the boyfriend’s human?”
“No sir. One is a witch. Another is a vampire, and the other one is a werewolf”
“Wow that could come in very handy”
“I thought that you would be happy about the extra people”
“We also have your brother joining the team on a trial period. He was very keen to get into this line of work. I was thinking that I might ask your mum for help too. She is a very strong witch. I am worried that it’s not for her though. Her main priority for the last 30 years has been having kids and raising them”
“Well, you will not know if you do not ask her sir. Would you like me to ask her to come and talk to you?”
“Yes, please Jess. We are almost at Nicole’s place. We should be able to see it is half an hour. I will be glad to set the humans on their way then we can talk openly. I do not want to say too much in case one of them hears. I am sure that they do not want to know that everything that they talk about in horror stories are true”
“Yeah, I think that you are right there. Some days I wish that I didn’t know. I cannot even watch a horror movie now without wanting to ring the producer and tell them that their movie is bull and point out what is wrong about it”
“Yes, but you have a gift. You have known that vampires, werewolves and witches have existed since you reached puberty”
“I know that, sometimes I wished that I didn’t know. Not that I would change it. If I changed it, I would have to give up my best friends and my mum”
“I know”
I walked away from him and towards my mum. I looked over at Kieran and noticed that Justin had taken my place. It looked like he was asking a lot of questions. I decided that I would hurry up with mum so that I could go back and save him.
