Chapter 46 Chapter 46
Kieran’s POV
Suddenly Alice arrived out of nowhere and told Jess to stop being a bitch and give me another chance. I could have kissed her as her words worked. Jess threatened to cut off my balls if I ever hurt her again, but I knew they would stay intact as I would never hurt her again. I could not wait any longer and I pulled her into my arms and kissed her. I had been waiting for ten years for the moment when I would have her back in my arms. The way she kissed me back I knew that she missed me just as much as I missed her, even if she was better at hiding it. She took my hand, and we walked back to camp, and I finally felt at peace, even with all the shit that was happening. Shortly after we arrived Jess’s friends turned up, and she ran out of my arms to run over to them. I could not blame her as she was happy to see them. But she had not seen me in ten years, and we had just gotten back together, I guess I thought she would have wanted to stay in my arms for a bit longer. I walked over to John while she was chatting and showed him the tablet.
“They are where I thought that they were” I told him as I brought up a map
“Shit, they are so close”
“They are, so we need to be careful, and we need to fill everyone in now that they are here”
“Good idea, also I am glad that you and Jess are good again”
“Thank you, Sir,” I sighed. I was still not happy that he sent me away in the first place.
Jess went to sit down with her friends, and we went to join them. We needed to start working on a plan. Justin shocked me by asking about what they had done with the males. I always had him set in a negative light after what he said to Jess after I dropped her home that first night. John answered that he didn’t know but gathered that they were imprisoned. I didn’t agree but didn’t say anything. I thought that they would be using the men to get their women pregnant. Well, that’s what I would do if I was them, I would use both genders to make sure that we could repopulate quicker. I let John do his thing and lead the conversation. When they asked where the aliens were keeping the prisoners I knew that Jess would not be happy knowing how close they were. But we needed to have a plan in place before we make our move, and I don’t know what everyone’s skills are. Since John sent me away, I am completely out of the loop. I was impressed with the skills of the witches. Christina could heal and protect people where Amber used attack magic, and she could also fight. Both of those would be very handy in battle. Hayley being a vampire would be good for the extra strength, and she is a lot harder to kill then us.
Then Hayley dropped the bomb that she had invited some of her family to come and join us for the fight. I was expecting maybe a handful, but no she was expecting twenty to thirty vampires to come and fight this war with us. Our chances of winning this thing have just increased significantly. With the skills that Jess, John and I also had we might actually win and save our race.
It was decided that a small team would go and scope out Delica’s camp and then we could make a plan of attack. The only people we did not seem to have a plan for was Justin and Jess’s mum and dad. I gathered we would leave her parents at camp, they would be able to stay here with Christina and help her heal and feed us. Justin offered to sneak in and get the humans out while we all fought. I was impressed at him for offering to help in such a hands-on way. I was expecting him to say that he will just stay back at camp with his parents and Christina. Maybe in the ten years I had been away he had grown up, him and Jess did seem to get along well now. I was worried about the vampires and feeding though. Jess had only been able to catch rabbits so far and I was not sure how rabbit blood would keep thirty vampires fed. I just hoped that they would not decide to try and feed on the humans, unless they feed like Hayley fed off Jess that one time. I would have to talk to John about it when I manage to get him alone, I had a feeling that if I mentioned in in front of Jess, she would get offended and hurt.
We all sat and had some lunch, once we were finished John made the order and Jess, Hayley, Justin and I followed him to see if we could figure out a way to free and save the human race. Jess’s parents and Amber stayed behind at camp to prepare dinner. I thought that Romeo would come with us since he seemed to follow Jess wherever she went, but she told him to stay, and he just sat next to Alice and watched us walked away. I was impressed at how well she had trained him, I was wondering if he would be beside Jess in the battle or if she would leave him at camp. I was thinking it might be handy to have him with her, that way if anything happened to her he would be able to alert us.
We set off and Jess took hold of my hand while she took hold of Ambers hand with her other one. It was nice having her back and holding my hand, even if I do have to share her with her friends.
