Jess’s POV
I was more than happy to go home all I wanted to do now was go to sleep. Kieran took my hand and lead me out of the warehouse. Christina came and took my other hand, Amber was holding her other hand Hayley just looked at me and followed behind. I did not understand at first why she was not holding hands then I looked in her mind and realised that she needed to feed. Hayley never drained her victims she only took enough to fill her hunger. This only left the victim slightly lightheaded like you feel after you give blood. I smiled to myself as in a way it was donating blood just it was feeding hunger and not saving a human.
“What are you smiling at?”
“You my sweet little Hayley. You’re hungry. Would you like me to be a blood donor for you?”
“You would do that for me?”
“Yeah of course I would you’re my friend. Just make sure you don’t hurt me”
“I would never hurt you. Kieran, I need you to promise me something”
“Sure. What?”
“Make her a big steak for tea”
“No worries”
“Ok Jess. Think of something nice”
I started thinking about what happened last night when I got home and noticed Hayley staring at me.
“Ok Jess when I take your blood, I will be in your head so please think of something other than Kieran naked please, I beg you”
I blushed and started thinking about the slumber parties that we used to have with Christina reading our Tarot cards. The next thing I felt Hayley’s mind as one with mine and we both remembered the old days it was the strangest feeling but in a really good way. I felt Hayley pull away and then I was alone in my own head again.
“Thank you Jess I really needed that. How are you feeling?”
“A bit lightheaded but apart from that I am fine”
“Come on I better get all of you girls home and a big steak in miss donor here”
“Can I also recommend no strenuous activities too?”
“No, you cannot” I kicked Hayley in the arse as she was climbing into the back of the Mercedes.
I felt sorry for Kieran on the drive home. The three girls in the back were all squealing glad that things could be back to normal between all of us again. I was lightheaded so everything was funny to me, and I think I laughed the whole way home. Hayley was the last one to be dropped home.
“You do know that I could have run home quicker than you can drive?” She told Kieran
“Yes, I do but I thought you might want to hang out with your friends for a bit longer and feel human?” he replied.
“You thought right. Thank you, Kieran, and look after my friend there. Remember to make sure she eats a big steak”
“I will she means a lot to me I will take care of her” he told her
“Good night” Hayley smiled
I waved goodbye as we drove down the street. Kieran kept his promise and made me eat a big steak before I feel asleep. I ended up falling asleep at the table.
When I woke up and I felt like death warmed up. I tried to roll over and go back to sleep but Kieran pulled the covers off me.
“Come on my darling. You need to get up and eat some more meat. I also brought you some iron tablets”
“You’re so sweet. Thank you. But can I not have a sick day today? I want to stay in bed not go to school”
“You will be here all alone though as I have to go in to work all day again”
“Damn you fine I will go to school then at least my friends will want to spend the day with me”
“Hey, I have to help prepare for an alien attack, but how would you like me to take you away at the weekend instead?”
“You better Mr and somewhere nice and romantic”
“Your wish is my command. Now will you please come and eat the steak sandwich that I have made you?”
“I think that I can manage that” I grabbed my robe and followed him to the kitchen. I looked down and had to smile Kieran had put me in my Pj’s before he put me to bed. I sat down at the table and Kieran put a plate of steak sandwiches in front of me.
“There is no way that I can eat all of that”
“Just eat as much as you can, ok?”
“Ok boss” I started to eat, and I could not believe how much I ate. I felt like I had not eaten in days. I ate everything that Kieran put in front of me.
“My god am not pregnant, am I?” I asked him, feeling sick to the stomach.
Kieran started laughing at me “No I used a condom, and it did not break”
“Then why the hell have I just eaten five steak sandwiches?”
“You gave blood to a vampire last night your body is just craving iron”
“Oh, thank goodness” I sighed feeling relieved. I was way to young to be thinking about having a baby.
Kieran pulled me into his arms. “You’re so cute, but you better go and get dressed for school unless you want to go like that, you do look hot”
“Am sure” I gave him a tap on the butt as I walked past. I quickly put on my uniform, before I grabbed my backpack and went back to meet Kieran in the kitchen.
Kieran pulled me into a big hug and kissed me on the tip of my nose. “Come on my darling the chariot awaits”
“You’re such a dick come on let’s go” I pulled him along to the door. We held hands all the way to school.
“Look you have a group of friends waiting for you” Kieran pointed towards the school
“Yes, they adore me did you not know” I chuckled as I suddenly remembered that we are supposed to be having a girl night on Saturday night. “Shit I forgot to tell you that I am having a girl only night on Saturday night so you cannot take me away”
“Damn I guess I will have to wait then wont I” he pouted
I gave him a kiss on the cheek and got out of the car “I will see you after school handsome”
“You better” he blew me a kiss, as he drove away.
