Chapter 32 Chapter 32
Kieran’s POV
Jess’s friends were all waiting for her when I pulled up outside the school. I was glad that she had good friends, and it made me realise how I didn’t have many people I would call friends. Then Jess remembered that she is having a girl only night on Saturday night so I would not be able to take her away or see her and that sucked. I used to enjoy my weekend on my own just relaxing, but now all I wanted to do was spend time with Jess. I arrived at the warehouse and Grahams called me straight into his office.
“Is everything ok Sir?” I asked as soon as I sat down.
“I am sending you up north to train the team for the attack” He told me “You will be moving there for the foreseeable future”
“What about Jess sir? You asked me to be her mentor”
“I did and now you are sleeping with her and will be a distraction. I need her to focus on her exams and then her training here. I will take her under my wing and be her mentor. If your love is strong enough you will meet again when we go to war. But before that I need your help in buying her work vehicle and a place for her to live”
“She wants an orange and black Kombi” I grunted “As for a house I would say somewhere rural so her friends can go over and be themselves. Now when do I leave?”
“Tonight” he sighed “I will give you both the night off, so make it worth it. You will then drop her home and head to the private plane”
“Can I take the rest of the day off to plan my last evening with her?” I asked praying he said yes.
“Go” he nodded as I quickly left the warehouse and started making plans. I hated this, I didn’t want to leave her. I loved her, but I had no choice. I hoped that Grahams would allow me to contact her, but I had a feeling that would be forbidden. My first stop was a high-end dress store, I walked in and told the lady who was called Gail exactly what I wanted before handing her my card with a nice tip attached.
“I will make sure that she gets the perfect dress” she smiled as I left the shop and went to my next stop.
I arranged a limo and dinner before I went to a jewellery store to buy her a necklace that I was hoping she would never take off. Soon everything was organised, and it was time for me to go and pick her up from school. I got out and leaned against my car as I waited for her to come out of school for the last time. I saw her coming out with Hayley and smiled as she looked me up and down before walking over to me.
“Hey beautiful. I missed you today” I told her as I leaned down and kissed her “I have a surprise for you tonight”
“What?” she asked causing me to chuckle
“If I told you then it would not be a surprise, but we have both been given the night off work” I told her as I opened the car door for her.
I started to drive towards the dress store with Jess still trying to find out what her surprise was. I just patted the side of my nose and drove in silence. When I told her to get out when we arrived outside the store the poor girl looked thoroughly shocked. I pushed her towards the door telling her to hurry as she has an appointment with a lady called Gail. Once she was in the store and the door was closed, I quickly drove to get myself sorted. I pulled up at a men’s clothing store, and the owner unlocked the door to let me in before locking it again. He walked me to a changing room where a suit was waiting for me. This guy made all my suits for work, so he knew my sizes, and I didn’t need to worry about anything be altered. Once I was changed, I quickly drove to the limo place and parked up. The driver smiled at me as he opened the back door for me to climb in, the driver drove us back to the dress shop and I climbed out I had just finished telling the driver that I would be right back when Jess came out in a dress that looked stunning on her. Gail had worked wonders, she quickly threw a bag at Jess just before I spun her around and placed the necklace I had bought her around her neck,
“Wait a sec is that a fake or a real diamond?” she asked me as she looked down at the diamond heart on the necklace.
“Real of course, ten carats too. Only the best for my girl” I told her genuinely.
I led her to the limo, and the driver held the door open for us. Jess climbed in first and then I climbed in behind her. She looked around the limo with twinkling eyes, and I hoped that she would remember this night while I was away. It was only ten years then we would meet again when the war happened, we were both still young I was sure we could survive ten years apart. The driver took us to the restaurant, and I gave my name before we were shown to our table. I saw Jess’s face as soon as she looked at the prices on the menu. I was not having her try to make this cheaper for me, I had to throw ten years, worth of dates into tonight and I planned on going all out. I took the menu from her and decided that I would be the one to order her food for her.
