Kieran’s POV
A woman I didn’t have much to do with made a comment about Jess being just a kid. I glared at her, but Grahams did not seem fazed at all. He just asked Jess to focus on her and tell him what she could tell about the woman. Well, it turns out she was a murder as she had killed her husband. I knew the department would keep her secret since it was done in self defence since the guy used to beat her. But Grahams had done what he set out to do and now the whole service knew how strong Jess’s gift is. I walked over to the stage and wrapped my arm around her to offer her comfort.
“My god Jess I did not know your gift was that strong” I told her.
“I had no idea that I even had a gift. Wait a second how the hell did you guys know that I had a gift before I did?” she glared at me and Grahams just as her friends decided to make themselves known and walked onto the stage to join us.
I felt bad for Jess when they pushed her to break and let down her walls, but I knew that he had to be done. I thought that would be it, but then Grahams told Jess to tell everyone what she found out from Delica, and I was shocked. She had only found out that they plan to rape our women. He was more than capable of telling everyone that. Suddenly Jess’s eyes glazed over, and she started talking about details I knew that she did not know before. She would have told me if she knew, I was sure of it. She knew when the Aliens plan on coming back. We had ten years to train and make sure that they failed their mission.
Grahams dismissed me to go and take Jess and her friend’s home, and I jumped at the chance to get her away from all these people and get her alone. I took her hand as we walked out of the warehouse with her friends following. I noticed the red head Christina took Jess’s other hand while Amber was holding Christina’s hand. I decided that women were odd creatures as I made my way to my car. Suddenly Jess dropped my hand and turned to Hayley who had been following behind us. Out of all the things that could have happened, having Jess offer to be Hayley’s food source was not it. I had never seen a Vampire feed without killing, but I knew that Hayley would never hurt Jess. She asked me if I could do her a favour and I said yes before even thinking. All she asked was that I made Jess a juicy steak for dinner. I guess that made sense since she was about to feed on her and she would need the extra iron. I watched as Hayley walked over to Jess before sinking her fangs into her neck. Jess’s body relaxed into Hayley as she fed. Once she was done, she removed her fangs and made sure to hold Jess tight as she started to sway slightly.
“Come on I better get all of you girls home, and a big steak in miss donor here” I called over to them.
“Can I also recommend no strenuous activities too?” Hayley asked Jess just as she was about to climb into the back of the Mercedes.
“No, you cannot” Jess told her as she kicked her in the arse.
The girls laughed and talked the whole car ride. Jess was acting drunk, and I could only assume it was from the blood loss. I was glad when we finally dropped Hayley off last and she climbed out of the car warning me to make sure I fed Jess a large steak. I promised I would, before driving back to Jess’s place and cooking the said steak. Jess was so tired that she fell asleep at the table as soon as she finished eating. I know that Jess was just helping her friend out, but I hoped that this would not become a regular thing as I did not want to have to carry her to bed every night. I quickly got her changed into some PJ’s and then got myself changed before climbing into bed beside her. I made sure I woke up before her in the morning and ran to a pharmacy to grab her some iron pills and to the butcher to grab her some more steak. I got home and checked on Jess who was still fast asleep, so I decided to leave her until I had finished cooking her steak. Once I was done, I went to wake her, I pulled the covers off her and she moaned at me. Yes, I was going to make sure that she did not feed Hayley on a regular basis. I told her she needed to eat more meat and that I bought her some iron pills. That caused her to finally start moving, while complaining that she needed a sick day. She was not happy when I told her she would have to be alone as I still had work. I had to get training as we had an alien attack to prepare for, and I had a feeling that we would need to call in the supernatural creatures to help us win this war. So, staying here with Jess was unfortunately not an option right now, but I did have the weekend off. I decided that I would take Jess away somewhere just the two of us. Jess grabbed her robe and made her way down to the kitchen and I placed the steak sandwiches I made her down. She tried to tell me she would not be able to eat them all, yet she demolished the whole lot with ease.
“My god am not pregnant, am I?” she suddenly asked looking worried.
I started to laugh at the look of panic on her face “No I used a condom, and it did not break”
