Chapter 174 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 174 Untitled Chapter
I quickly dropped my butt on the sofa and pulled out my phone to compare the numbers. My heart was beating so fast, and my hands trembled. Deep in my heart, I couldn't stop praying for the numbers to be the same, and a part of me also doesn't want the numbers to turn out the same.

Noah can't be the one who kidnapped Sophia; no, that wouldn't come true. Sophia loves him; she calls him Daddy. He can never do that to her, right?

The moment my eyes fell on the numbers and realized they were the same, my eyes became blurry with tears. Noah did this to me? What have I ever done to him to deserve this?

Did he come into our lives to take away our peace by pretending he was giving us peace? Why? All I did was love him truthfully. I never thought he was hiding his real ambition towards us.

So all the messages I found in his phone that day were all lies? Did he store them there because he knew I would get hold of them one day?

I am such a fool for falling into that.

“Are you okay, Detective Lizzy?” The officer asked, staring at me, confused.

I don't look okay, and I cannot be okay until I find the location where the monster had my daughter kept.

I swear, Noah is going to regret provoking me. Any other person but my daughter?

And I was such an idiot for believing all he was saying that time. He made me believe Alx was behind it. He said Alex stalked them that day and even threatened to do whatever it would take to take Sophia away from me.

When we didn't find anything showing Alex was the culprit, I should have released him and let him go, then focused on finding Sophia. But no, I decided to keep him because Noah told me to.

And when he mentioned Maureen and Elena, I fell for that, too. I should have known that Noah was only using that to buy time for himself.

I will wait for him to return to this city. In one week, Noah will come back and tumble into my hands.

“I am fine.” I stood up, cleaning the tears off my face with the back of my right hand. “Tell the rest to round up; we are leaving.”

He nodded his head and hurried off.

While he was away, I tried calling that number again, hoping it would miraculously go through, but it didn't.

“God, help me. Help my daughter. She is innocent; she is just a little girl whose fault was feeling comfortable with Noah. Her fault was referring to him as her dad when he is not. He isn't capable of being her dad; he is a bad person who only wants to see her hurt.”

I couldn't control the tears that had gathered in my eyes from falling. I let them fall freely as if they would wash away my pain.

“Go back to your division. I will go to the headquarters. When I need you, I will give you a call. Also, do not breathe this to any soul, not even your colleagues in your division. I don't want any of this to get into Noah’s ears. I want him to return and fall into my hands.”

“Yes, Detective Lizzy, we understand.”

I am not afraid that Noah will run far away when he finds out I investigated his house and found out he kidnapped my baby. Even if he runs to the end of the world, I will follow him and drag him back to this country.

There is nowhere on this earth that he would go to that I won't trail him. I just don't want to stress over all this. I want him to just bring himself into my hands without having any clue of what is going on.

As soon as I stepped inside the headquarters, I had Amy, who was taken to the guest room, brought to my office. No matter what, I am sure she knows where Noah kept my baby.

The maids said she was the one whom Noah picked up on that day to babysit Sophia. And as long as I can remember, the security guy said the kidnappers took both Sophia and the lady away.

Then why is Amy back and not in their custody?

“Where did Noah keep my daughter?”

Her eyes snapped wide in shock as soon as I mentioned that. “I… I don't know what you are talking about, Ma’am,” she stuttered, avoiding eye contact with me.

“Don't waste my time, Amy. If you don't want me to blast off your head right now, tell me where Sophia is, you fool!” I thundered and slammed my hands on the desk.

She stared trembling, and the next second, she parted her lips to speak, but she broke down in tears.

“Do not blast off my head, please. Do not kill me.”

“Then speak! You idiot!”

“I don't know, Detective Lizzy; only Mr. Noah knows where that is.”

“Liar!”

“I swear, I am not lying. Trust me. That day, Mr. Noah only told me that he was going to propose to me if I did what he said.”

What!

“Ever since I started working in his house, I developed feelings for him. The feelings that even I cannot control. I did all I could to make him fall in love with me, but my plans all proved abortive. When he brought me to your house to be Sophia’s temporary nanny, I used that opportunity to always seduce him, and it worked.”

I don't remember asking her to tell me that. I don't even care what she and Noah are doing or did. I just want her to tell me where Sophia is.

“Mr. Noah…”

“Enough of that shit!” I cut her off angrily. “Do I look like I am interested in your relationship story? Tell me anything you know or heard Noah say about where to keep my daughter.”

“I am saying the truth, ma’am,” she sniffled. “I don't know where that is. Why don't you try tracking that number? You will get the exact location in just a second. I only know that Sophia is in this town, but I don't know the actual location.”

Then that is settled. Even if I were to stay awake for the rest of the night to wait for that phone to be turned on, I would surely do that.
